What? There are whores in Whorehouses?
Obama Win: We all must acknowledge that every Black American must feel that a ten ton weight has been removed from their shoulders. No longer does a father have to look his son in the eye and tell him that a Black Man will never be elected president of this country. On the contrary, all Black Parents can tell their kids that anyone can be elected president. Period. There is a huge psychological benefit to the country, one we should all cheer.
BUT
First, Obama is at least a socialist and at worst a communist. His desire for a private military arm (praetorian Guard in Rome, one which eventually took over the country) is a warning shot as to his overall purpose.
Let's quit fucking around: McCain was the worst possible candidate for a political party we could have possibly envisioned. McCain has no central philosophy; liberals think he's conservative while conservatives think he's liberal. He couldn't lead a fucking conga line. He is not, and never will be, a team player, a team builder, or even vaguely a team leader. The biggest team he's ever led in politics is the Gang of Seven (or ten or fifteen) that preceded the Republican sell outs that number one through twenty. His nomination was the result of the ideological Sahara the Republicans now represent. The same corrupt street whores and pimps are still "leading" the minority in both houses, a geriatric bunch of stumble bums that guarantees Republicans will continue to line up at the government trough and rake it in. Tired old white men doesn't begin to cover it. Completely out of it old rural assholes without a clue does cover it. People living in big cities think things like gun rights for everyone when they are surrounded by armed gangs is stupid; people who are sexually "active" with all animals of either sex who are available want abortions to be conveniently located inside all luxury hotels in America as well as at bus stops and recycling centers will be satisfied; people who can't lay around and make big money want money for doing nothing; people in a country without direction or purpose need leaders who share their rejection of compasses or maps.
The challenge for Republicans and Conservatives is to develop a philosophy that offers a perceived chance for success that all people can recognize. The poor need more than a lottery ticket every few years; the people with two jobs need to see a result that isn't foreclosure; freedom from government does not mean the absence of all laws or morality; God is a concept, not an established fact and all attempts to insert Him into all lives is not intellectually acceptable; lower taxes are not all they are cracked up to be, especially when any moron can see bridges falling apart, roads continually in disrepair, waits at airports of more than two hours and planes sitting on tarmacs for twice that long are happening every day just to name a few inconveiences caused by government. The hustlers leading the Republican Party right now totally stink. Paper mache' conservatives like John Boehner in the House and fresh new faces with exciting new ideas like Trent Lott and Mitch McConnell will "lead" in the Senate. Anybody young who rallies around these assholes is destined for the intellectual maggot lounge in the hedge fund tower of power. We have a totally left wing government and we Republicans created the landscape for their triumph. It's going to be at least a decade before the whores and pimps masquerading as conservatives are cleaned out and by that time a "conservative" will be the ones who guarantee lottery winners every day and send out monthly checks via the Home Security Force to all citizens each month.

Man,
You make TOTALLY great points. I read an article written by James Carville (the dem reporter for CNN)that basically said that because Obama was favored by the young voters, the Dem's are a lock for the next 40 years.
I hope your guess of 10 years is a more accurate approximation.
You are ignoring the fact that no matter which party is currently in power, they are adding to the bureaucracy, and out tax dollars need to feed that rapacious beast on a daily basis.
Give me a break! Disregarding the snark about God being a concept, this moron sees bridges falling apart, roads in disrepair, etc. is a legitimate concern but displays a certain naivete about the corrosive impact of government unions and a system that rewards subservience while creating more bureaucrats.
The "poor" do indeed need more than a lottery ticket (which we have paid for), they need to get a job, any job, and they need to inculcate in their kids a recognition that education, moderation, and sticktuitiveness will benefit them more than politicians.
I lurk at your blog, enjoy it mostly, but sometimes, like this, I wonder where your head is.
Most of the youngsters who voted Obama never lived through Carter. I remember very clearly the misery my family suffered: very few jobs, inflation, high energy prices, an overwhelming feeling of depression pervading the country. Perhaps it will be a "teachable moment."
We are IN a "teachable moment" right now. Haven't we all learned more than we ever wanted to know about Wall Street? The continuing mistrust of our system of investing will come back to haunt us.
