The squares are smarter than I thought: had lunch with middle America yesterday and I was surprised that all of them blame SEC honcho, Cox, for the stock market disaster. Most thought he should be put in jail. None of these people were so-called "experts," just a bunch of people who were saving for college and retirement and who are probably wiped out. Under all this agreement on the cause is a determination never to put another dime in the stock market. One person has obtained a license and all the tools to grow medical marijuana; all agreed that the pair (husband and wife) had the safest investment of all, many asking how to phony up an illness so they could buy some. This market won't penetrate 9000 in my lifetime.

This seems like a good explanation of what happened.
