WWII Armada ready to invade helpless Japan? Evil U.S. Navy preparing to invade poor Bumfuckistgan? Uh uh; this is only part of the largest armada of ships ever assembled waiting for cargos that will never come because of the "recession." Estimate is 500 container ships roasting in the midday sun off of Singapore away from not so prying eyes of liberal journalists who'd like us to believe that everything will be fine as soon as another Obama bailout floats into view. At Democratic Underground......

Waddya mean, Empty ship?  This is full of hot air from Obama.

Do you have any idea of the costs of those ships anchored there? The biggest one can carry as many as seven thousand containers each. Figure one hundred thousand in average value per container times seven thousand times five hundred ships making at least one transpacific run per month and the figures become sobering. And that is just the in bound freight. We do actually still produce things that are exported as well so if one adds back in the calcs above even if half of the containers go back empty it is still an enormous sum of money. The economic value lost that those ships represent is staggering.
