POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL LATEST DEMOCRATIC ISSUE. DOMINATING NEWS TODAY Democrats hope to seize this issue and, combined with the aircraft carrier scandal, win the White House. LINK FOR LAFFS

But seriously folks, do we all forget the excesses of our own teen years. Boundaries don't exist for teens unless our parents impose them upon us. Speaking only for myself, I can remember plenty of times where teen "fun" went way overboard when nobody was around to stop us. Some of our "fun" could have killed us. This Powder Puff game took place completely away from adult supervision. Worse, the adults refused to supervise it. The School System refused to allow the game on school property way back in 1975 to avoid "liability". So the kids moved the game. What we have here is massive adult negligence. Everybody let the kids go, and kids being kids, they finally "went". The blame here is with the parents in this school system. There is nothing wrong with a Powder Puff football game supervised by the usual suspects. How many of us guys have played in "flag football games" that got completely out of control? When I was stationed at Alameda NAS flag football was banned after a game resulted in massive injuries to players. When the games were resumed it was with rigid refereeing. Adults ruled.

GASOLINE PRICES A PLUS FOR ECONOMY, FLOODS AND STORMS A BIG PLUS TOO The three billion per month coming back into the economy from falling gasoline prices could be a dribble compared to the money coming from Federal Government and insurance companies to repair all the storm and flood damage. One of my young friends, a top sheet metal man, moved to Florida for five years following Hurricane Andrew and made himself a nice little bundle for a kid his age. Investing??? Keep aware here. It is always a net positive when storm damage results in massive construction projects funded by insurance and government money.

The below post is completely wrong. See note at end THIS POST IS IN ERROR. LINK HERE FOR THE COMPLETE RUNDOWN

GOP DEVELOPING CAJONES FROM WHITE HOUSE ON DOWN----Senate Majority leader Bill Frist is going to the mattresses with the Dems-------finally. Maybe he caught on about using power from SeƱior Cajones in the White House. I think that allowing the Democrats to continue to block judges is dangerous for our country. If this method of blocking judges is allowed to continue nobody will ever be confirmed again. Republicans would surely do the same thing. Winning control of Congress should mean something. Now it will. I've observed may times in the past that the Constitution is very tough to live by, but that's the deal we have. And...the Democrats picked very badly in blocking Estrada and Owens, two judges that would pass any muster on either rational side. Let the Democrats continue to expose the trip to the aircraft carrier, an issue that will clearly win them the White House and Congress in 2004.
Addendum/Retraction the proposal is total crap. Cannot possibly pass and is actually a sign of the gutlessness of the Republican Party and Bill Frist. It will take 67 votes to pass. Cannot understand the White House endorsing it. I guess I join the NYT for accuracy.

POWDER PUFF LEGISLATION FOR LAFFS

PLAGIARIZER AND FICTION WRITER AT NYT Read the Washington Post account of this "reporter" who simply wrote reams of fiction over a period of time and ask yourself if this isn't Affirmative Action run wild. Other reports indicate that the overall standards for accuracy at the Times are so lax that this young man, who was clearly not right for the job, was just one of many who are routinely printing "inaccurate" material. That the "white guys" are even worse. Paper is in a bad slide but their upper crust readership doesn't seem to notice.

THE SCREWING OF AMERICA, VOL MXIX
Get Ready. You may think I've gone Left on You

The Tech Central piece regarding the ACORN people cheating their own workers I mentioned yesterday HERE needs further comment. Glenn Reynolds deserves a thank you for kicking me in the brain on this one.

I worked for one of the larger corporations in Southern California for about a year, ending in 2002. There were about 500 employees working in my area, most were under thirty five and at least half of those were Black and Hispanic females. Two to three mornings per week I'd join the mob at the "Roach Coach" for junk food and coffee and naturally we'd all shoot the shit about everything. In the course of a few months I got to know more than a few of the younger Black and Hispanic people and learned the following:

1. Almost all, meaning around thirty employees, worked a 29 hour week.

Why? Well, in California an employer doesn't have to cover part time employees with any benefits and the employees don't get covered by state disability or other employer contributing plans. And, AND the employee gets to work two to three other jobs in order to make decent money. Working three jobs builds self reliance.

I'm right wing. That doesn't mean I'm stupid and it doesn't mean I need a seeing eye ethics dog to get me through the moral thickets. I also realize that many people don't have the brains that God loaned to me. Many people don't have my coping skills. They don't know how to hustle every job with an opportunity for big dollars. They work two and three jobs to pull in a living wage. Many work two jobs and go to school. So much for the lazy "N" word and the "Siesta Mexicans". And wrong is wrong. This policy of hiring people on 29 hour weeks for the purpose of saving money on benefits is rampant in our country. It hides an "underground" economy. It produces a Medical Welfare Class of uninsured workers who would normally be covered. When these people get sick they have to go "on the county" (the general tax payer) when they shouldn't have to.

We, you and me, are paying the medical costs for these corporations and businesses. We are subsidizing these businesses that hire people at sub-standard wages. Those 30 or so people I used to speak with at the Roach Coach some mornings should have numbered twenty full timers who were covered with all benefits. Every corporation is doing it. Those that don't are at a competitive disadvantage when it comes to controlling costs. But all corporations should have to compete on the same playing field. No business should have an edge on "costs" by hiring people on 29 hour weeks. What this all boils down to is that what ACORN says they want isn't a bad thing. What ACORN practices in their own offices is another variation on what everybody is doing.

SCREWING AMERICA while the guys in Iraq fight for what's right.

Addendum in response to emails Not ONE 29 hour employee was white.

ECONOMY AND STOCKS

The price of gasoline is down again today bringing the total drop to around $.30 per gallon in three weeks. Just what does this mean for every American? A whopping $108,000,000 (one hundred eight million dollar) per day put back
into every American pocket---to spend.Three billion dollars per month. This is cash money right now, not some tax cut that will take effect down the road. Nobody seems to be calculating this money coming back into the economy. Data available at the API site.. For people driving SUVs that soak up sixty gallons per week that's $18 in movies or trinkets. When you are looking at trucks that means
$30 per fill at least. This is big. Use it.

OH MY GOD, BUSH LANDED ON A CARRIER This stupid whine proves the Democratic Party has become a total joke. What's even worse, the media keeps on this "story". Next: Democrats expose dog food scandal at White House.

SCARE STORIES ON DEFLATION After all the scare headlines and dire descriptions of what will happen when deflation hits come the real concerns of the FED. In response to the query "How likely is disinflation (deflation) now?" We get this:

"Not very, according to both Fed officials and private economists. Prices for services like medical care and college tuition appear immune to deflation, and housing prices historically. The declining dollar has been pushing up the prices of imports, which represent about 15 percent of consumer purchases. Apparel, electronics and computer equipment are among the categories that have shown steady price declines in recent years.
Still, as Bernanke points out, nobody predicted that Japan would be caught in its current deflationary spiral. “So, having said that deflation in the United States is highly unlikely, I would be imprudent to rule out the possibility altogether,” Bernanke said in the November speech."

What we have is a very slow news cycle where a trip to an aircraft carrier dominates cable news for a day, a slowdown in Laci Peterson mourning vigils creates a news hole, and a refusal to report on the French/EU oil scandals brings forth a story whose principal feature is a denial of their own scare headline. BTW last I heard wars are inflationary.

HERE'S A BILL BENNETT LIKE HIT PIECE Via Tech Central which I always read and their story is HERE, but Glenn Reynolds also links. The story involves a group called ACORN that has agitated for huge minimum wage packages for various groups for more than 30 years. So guess what? They screw their own employees something fierce. They don't even pay the Federal or State minimum wage and require work weeks of 54 hours. You won't see this in the places that busted Bill Bennett. I'll write more on the wage deal across the country tomorrow because there really is plenty rotten with far too many companies regarding pay.

BOB RYAN GETTING SUSPENDED BY BOSTON GLOBE IS WHAT LIBERALS DO You work for a Totally Left Liberal paper you better know you have to play by their rules. The remark HERE was simply one of those "off the cuff" wise cracks we all engage in.

Ryan said Kidd should expect taunts from the crowd, then criticized the Kidds for using their son "as a prop" and called Joumana Kidd an "exhibitionist."
Then, in a comment that was not picked up clearly on tape, he said: "Oh, great. I mean she needs (inaudible) to smack her."
Lobel immediately interrupted Ryan, asking him to retract the statement.
"You just don't want to smack her, you don't mean to say that. No, do you, really? Tell me you don't," Lobel said.
"Why should I say anything different than I said all last playoffs last year," Ryan said.

But you do not say anything that isn't PC if you work for the Boston Globe, New York Times, or any of the Liberal Media Elite. Total PC is the price you pay for taking their money. It's like praising Blacks if you work for the KKK Daily News; no way. Only on the web do we have the freedom to say whatever we want without some suit ruining us for life.

MAJOR BUSINESS STORY ABOUT THE OBVIOUS J.D. Power reports that Mercedes is the top rated car. I mean at $90,000 and up a copy who cares? First, these are customer responses. Is anybody who spends $100,000 for a rig going to admit they bought a bone? All most of us care about are rigs under 30grr. Next biggie: Vacationers rate Cancun better vacation spot than Harlem. Stay tuned.

FOB (FRIENDS OF BUSH) GETTING BIG HELP The first sign of the kinds of big help the countries who helped the U.S. in the Iraq War is HERE. U.S. has declared the Basque separatist group in Spain a Terrorist Organization and is moving to seize and block their assets. A New York Times piece appears HERE The Administration is really showing some hardball, and it's about time.

ANOTHER PHONY LEFT WING CHARGE BITES THE DUST The Red Cross is reporting that there is NO humanitarian crises in Iraq HERE. So another bogus Left Wing publicity campaign bites the dust. How many bogus charges is that? Fifty? Why anybody pays any attention to any of them is a mystery to me. Have they ever been right about anything during the past twenty five years?

MORE TROUBLE IN EUWAKISTAN Germany, the country that sent zero troops to war in Iraq but was only too quick to volunteer troops when it became safe is "furious" that their troops may be commanded by Polish leadership that did send troops when the war was on. Details HERE but this is a doozy because France and Germany are very angry. They may "refuse" to send their army into peaceful Iraq. Ain't that too bad? Deeper problems for new countries joining EU as it becomes clear that France and Germany don't want any other countries having a voice.

MEANINGLESS BLAH BLAH BLAH ABOUT THE DROP IN NEW YORK TIMES CIRCULATION They raised prices 33-1/3% and circulation dropped 5.1%. What is everybody? Stupid? They made money on the drop. (100 copies at $.75 equals $75 dollars; 94 copies at a dollar equals, er, um around $94) Their strategy is to simply lop off the less well heeled and build an advertising base of big hitters who can buy show tickets at $125 per seat, Knicks and Ranger tickets at $500 each, trips to Europe at $10,000 per person, and so on. They don't want Joe and Jane Lunchbucket to be SEEN reading the snooty New York Times. Howell Raines is a hero to the suits upstairs. People like Andrew Sullivan should have learned to add and multiply while at Oxford, but their hatred of Raines paralyzes their brains. Their hatred makes their observations about the NYT meaningless. And they call others bigoted. Right.

FBI CHIEF ROBERT MULLER PISSES ME OFF A total liability to the U.S., our war on terror within this country, and a complete jerk off. LGF really grinds it to him HERE in what amounts to a support of a terrorst group within the U.S. Why he hasn't been fired is beyond not only me.

ALL THE GOODIES ON THE FRENCH OIL SCANDAL ARE HERE It's big. This page will link all the way back into the 80's if you are interested. Bill Quick also different links HERE This is Old Europe at its finest. And here's the best one yet.

U.S. intelligence agencies are intensifying the search in Europe for officials of Saddam Hussein's government who fled Iraq with the help of French passports, U.S. officials said yesterday. The search efforts were strengthened after intelligence sources reported that France's government secretly provided fleeing Iraqi officials with European Union travel documents in Syria that allowed them to escape to other countries, said U.S. officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

The piece concludes with the usual fuzzy denial by the French:
Said spokeswoman Nathalie Loiseau: "There's no basis to it. There is not one Iraqi official in Europe thanks to France."

Meaning: somebody else gave them the French passports. Or they are not in Europe. Is Russia a part of Europe? And so on into the night. Happy Days.

DEMOCRATS HAVE A HUGE ISSUE AT LAST It's the Bush trip to the aircraft carrier. A complete tizzy fit led by the fabulous Mr.Henry Waxman who hasn't been on TV much lately and he's found his big chance. Any wonder about 2004? How would you like to run on that one? The real issue should be the huge rise in spending by the Bush Administration and the Republicans. HUGE. I'd link but it's all over the press today.
