Investing 101 and Yahoo shares taking a hit.....I have posted here many times that Yahoo sucks big time; their news is sometimes days behind, some sports news doesn't show up at all, and their searches are just useless. Peter Lynch, THE investor's investor (Fidelity), said in one of his first rules: check out the retail store. If the kids are packing the place it's a hot stock on the make, but if nobody is there you better dump it. The same holds true for usage, meaning use it and if you don't have a first class experience don't touch the stock. Yahoo is totally out of it, stomped into the ground by Google and now Microsoft and they have only themselves to blame. What needed to be done was obvious to all, all except the genius class in charge. As an aside, the so called analysts obviously never bothered to use Yahoo at all, they just accepted the company hype.

Energy: boy is it getting scary. Chavez is selling oil below market price to governments he likes: Cuba and Bolivia. Iran is doing the same thing to China. What is left on the market after the giveaways is what we get. And I think you will find that Iran learned plenty from Saddam, knowing now that they can bribe almost all of Europe. Sanctions? Useless because they are already saturating the black market with oil and will get quid pro quo from the markets for anything they will need.

Sanctions? Too leaky.

Blockade the Persian Gulf so as to prevent oil from being shipped out of Iran without US say-so?

That's the probably the next step.

Time for upping the ante, then. Our "friends" in Europe need to learn that they can't enjoy oil if they are dead. Ditto for the mullahs. Ten or twenty "accidents" should send a message. Oil is dangerous! The Chinese send a lot of troops abroad, it would be too bad if those planes developed "problems" in flight. And kidnappings are endemic in Africa, I hear.
