Stay Hip and stay abreast of the LIBOR scandal

This is a truly BIG BIG deal as it has effected almost all financial transactions over the past ten years.  It's becoming more and more clear that most major banks have been conducting a Mafia type conspiracy to (what else?) make as much money as possible by cheating everyone in the world.  What's really really bad is that everyone from both left and right is involved.  I've blogged here many times that the real issues facing us are corruption in all systems from top to bottom.

Lead us not into temptation...... Can be the watch phrase for everyone everywhere whether in science, athletics, the arts, or whatever. Money corrupts and too much money corrupts absolutely. These "scientists" have been on the take all their lives either through "grants" that were cooked from the start or working for a lab that is directly subsidized by the government, or by companies seeking multi-billion dollar contracts. Scientists corrupt? Just like all of us when we suddenly have a shot at huge money, no more and no less. What adds to all this is the complicity of media which poses as the honest broker when in fact they are dishonest hand maidens. Their hype begets more stuff to hype and "exclusives" mean higher ratings. "New York facing two hundred foot glaciers," when uttered by Nobel Winning corruptocrat is a big headline. So now we get to see the depth of the corruption which spreads into every corner of our corrupt lives, a corruption that includes lying on our tax returns, cheating on our mistresses by secretly screwing our wives, or telling lies to increase sales or union membership. Our society is corrupt and while we can piss and moan about the corruption in Afghanistan I think the corruption on this side of the pond is every bit as bad.

Just when you think you've seen it all, the top bureaucrats at the VA manage to set new standards in rewarding incompetence. It turns out that back in 2005, only months after admitting that they had underestimated the cost of veterans' care by more than $1 million dollars,VA officials involved in the foul-up each got bonuses in the tens of thousands of dollars.

This and more in the HuffPo (it kills me to refer you to them). This is a three million dollar reward for incompetence and negligence. Reference from Blackfive who is also pissed off at dam near everything too. Keep in mind the bias of the Huffington Post and their crusade against the war and Bush. But right is right, and this absolutely stinks.
