Where our 200 billion is going: New Orleans' famed French Quarter cleaned up its bars and clubs on Friday to get ready for business ... Next: bring on the whores but be sure they get government sponsored health care, unemployment insurance, etc.

And this AM
the influential Reynolds joins in the "wait a second before giving these crooks in New Orleans our money." He is just waking up to what I have been blogging for a week. He doesn't link to me because I don't kiss his ass, but you read all the details here more than a week ago. HERE and then there's HERE and HERE which appeared on the 12th and is the one the ever alert Reynolds finally reveals today word for fucking word but credits it to somebody else. Thanx Glenn. Integrity will always win out. If you read it on Instapundit and didn't know it already something is wrong with your information path.

Slight Add: I noticed a sudden surge in my page views about a month and a half ago and that's why I suddenly have over a million page views (thanx again). Maybe it's the Reynolds effect.....

Louisiana politicians will steal everything if you don't watch them close.

Gov. Blanco, Sen. Landrieu and Congressman "Dollar" Bill Jefferson are the worst. Their main goal has been to ingratiate themselves and their friends at the expense of tax payers.

Jefferson is under federal investigation now. When his house was searched a few weeks ago they found an unnamed amount of cash in the freezer.

Landrieu got into office in 1996 using the NOLA political machine run by former mayor Marc Morial. They were able to mobilize voters in the ninth ward at the last minute with school buses and a free plate of red beans and rice. She won the state by 5,000 votes but won Orleans Parish by nearly 100,000 votes.

Then you have Blanco. She's always been a bureaucrat. Public Serivce commissioner then Lt. Governor. Mostly, she just does what her husband Coach Blanco tells her. In the last legislative session she wanted to give teachers a pay raise. They found another 300 Million in the budget but it all went to pork, nothing for the teachers.

As you know La. has a long history of political corruption and it hasn't changed at all.

FEMA and the Feds bear little or no responsibility for the fiasco following the storm. The blame layes squarely on the backs of Nagin and Blanco.

When the horror stories of what happened in the hospitals comes out someone's going to pay. And I think it will be Blanco.

I live just outside of Baton Rouge and it is a mess here with more that 100,000 people that have moved up here. Hopefully temporarily.
