Gustav, another phony media event. Clear from the time it left Cuba that it would never rise above category two status, the media left nothing to be said but OMFG this could be another Katrina....if only.....if only the winds were blowing. To anyone who has lived near the ocean between Morrow Bay and Alaska this was just a fucking storm. The people on land where the Gulf or Atlantic water temps get above 85 degrees must be laughing if the reporting wasn't so over the top. MSNBC made this into another anti Bush event in the making and they are now preparing us for the horror of an environmental disaster when polluting oil rigs get blown apart, even though the rigs aren't remotely threatened. Only Bloomberg TV was reasonably accurate with reports of a huge decline ---$4--- in oil prices because nothing was threatened, plus a two year low of the pound against the dollar.
