Just in: Bush appoints Goldman president Henry Paulson to head the treasury department. Harriet Myers lost out by just this much......

Illegals and the Republicans: Kaus, Glenn Reynolds, John Fund and the other usual suspects are decrying the Republican seeming unconsciousness over this issue. Bottom line is that the GOP bribe takers and eliteists no longer have any core beliefs; without those you govern by polling, secret sources, and the usual Beltway gossip. How come they got ambushed by this issue? Personally, any time I am focused on something I fail to see the other things. The Republicans have no clue any more about governance, leadership, and morals. Their focus is all on what people think, how they can win without taking positions on anything, and how they can get TV face time.

5/29/2006

The Republicans must go, Vol XXVII: The GOP's 1994 Contract with America stated pretty plainly that henceforth "all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress."

" Ha ha ho ho ha ha ha ha ha ha etc. Mark Steyn has a major piece up but if y0u haven't come to the conclusion as stated above, you are reading the wrong blog.

Cox and Forkum say it all for me. Notice how almost all the MSM is slanting the news so that it seems Bush did the crime of catching the crooks. I especially include FOXNEWS, an outlet that more and more represents the MSM and not an independent voice. It looks like the moron proles gets it right once again.

DuToit has solved the illegal immigration problem, and it's cheep as hell.....

The Big "C" is always at the back of my mind, I hope I don't get it. I had a super scare over the past month because I had all the symptoms of prostate cancer. They ran test after test before coming to the conclusions that its just a swelling and I'm taking pills to eliminate it. Whew!

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

Ron Harris is probably the best photographer of women great looking women on the planet. Click on the Harris deal above and you will see a gallery of sensational looking women, all of whom put every Hollywood loser to shame. You can join his site if you choose. Unless you are lucky enough to work in a whore house, his pix are NSFW and will surely cause some envious feminist bitches to accuse you of sexual harassment if one happens to see your screen. Only click to the site while you are masturbating quietly in the bathroom.

To all who have emailed and commented regarding my health: I'm fine, just in for tests. I appreciate your concern and thank you.....

103 MILLION, THANKS GEORGE

Even worse than Vincente Fox lite--below--the Heritage Foundation has totaled up the number of "immigrants" Bush will let in: 103 million.
How many people would the SenateĀ?s immigration plan allow into the U.S.? Until now, the focus has been on the 10 million illegals to whom the bill would give amnesty.

Robert Rector adds up all the provisions. He finds the Senate plan would admit 103 million--or one-third the current U.S. populationĀ?over the next 20 years.

The low-skill immigrants who would take advantage of the Senate plan are likely to be a fiscal burden on society.

In this paper, Rector projects increased government spending of $46 billion per year or more. The Senate immigration plan "would be the largest expansion of the welfare state in 35 years," concludes Rector.

I amending my low opinion of Bush: he is the worst president ever, James Buchanan (he who fiddled while the Civil War brewed) is a possible exception.

VINCENTE FOX LITE

Quickie from the hospital: Bush speech means nothing. He has been asleep for at least four years on this issue, which means he has no real commitment to anything other than an amnesty/guest worker program, AKA Vincente Fox lite. There will have to be real action, action that will override the ACLU and other Lefties who want to destroy our culture from within. Action will have to speak because I just don't believe he cares or has the ability to accomplish his "program."

LET'S SEE YOU DO THIS ONE SPORTS FANS......

Malkin has a compendium of outraged conservative reaction to the Border Patrol's policy of telling the Mexican government exactly where Minute Men are posted. I just say fuck the Republican Party. Fuck them. No money. A few of the twenty or so posted:
It is time for Republicans and Conservatives to write the President and their state and local Republican officials to announce that we will be staying home on November 7th. I prefer to let the Democrats mess up real good for a couple of years so to teach the pork-ladened, do-nothing GOPers a lesson.
And this one:
I am beyond frustration, anger, and disgust; I am now determined not to vote for any Republican incumbent.
This stuff begins midway through the post.

SENDING YOUR KIDS THROUGH COLLEGE ON $2.86 PER HOUR

Addendum to my post below on wages: Just heard a radio guy in his fifties describe his old man, a construction electrician, who fed his family in the 50s and 60s and sent his kids to college on what he made. During the 50s his dad was earning $22 per hour (of course there was overtime too) on a good union job. Today the same job still pays $22 per hour, and it is a disaster.

How bad is that? Look at the chart. According to all studies, comparing today's dollar with a 1950 dollar shows a decline of 87% of it's purchasing power (see here). In other words a dollar in 1950 will buy thirteen cents worth of something today. That means todays' construction electrician is working for poverty wages when compared to the really good union jobs through the fifties and sixties. Could the guy who sent his kids through college on a construction electrician's wages in the fifties have the same job today paying the exact $22 per hour send any kid anywhere?

$22 per hour is $2.86 today. What is wrong with this picture? These guys have guns, and even Ben Stein said it today on FOX. This spread between top and middle of the low end cannot continue. The government will be overthrown.

A TRAITOR AT THE TOP

And just in case you don't think Bush is an out and out traitor, just read this, over at Malkin, some of which has been published elsewhere. But the higher ups in a top agency do not ever act without instructions. Ever. I just wish Bush had died in 2003.

Richard Cohen, not one of my must reads on even a weekly basis, is a dam good writer and, for a sort of Lefty, an honest one: he actually calls them the way he sees them and then has the audacity to tell you why he sees them that way. He has a must read in today's WaPo that sums up thusly today's Left:
The hatred is back. I know it's only words now appearing on my computer screen, but the words are so angry, so roiled with rage, that they are the functional equivalent of rocks once so furiously hurled during anti-war demonstrations. They hurt in a different way.

I can appreciate some of it. Institution after institution failed America -- the presidency, Congress and the press. They all endorsed a war to rid Iraq of what it did not have. Now, though, that gullibility is being matched by war critics who are so hyped on their own sanctimony that they will obliterate distinctions, punishing their friends for apostasy and, by so doing, aiding their enemies. If that's going to be the case, then Iraq is a war its critics will lose twice -- once because they couldn't stop it, and once more at the polls.

Maxed Out has an interesting piece about the underbelly of this economy and the potential costs. I only disagree with part of her rant, the rest is true. I added the following comment regarding the declining incomes of people who used to be middle class:
You make some very good points regarding the ever broadening bottom, a bottom that more and more contains people who used to be middle class.

A serious problem is the corruption and gangsterism within the labor movement. This contamination means that most people would rather work at starvation wages than join a union. We are looking at the last of the middle class labor people in the auto business; people who made enough money to send their kids to college, buy nice things, take good vacations and spend their money. Now we have a few hundred thousand mega-millionaires and several hundred million working for survival wages; those people cannot afford to buy homes, nice cars, great vacations and so on. One thing those people do have is guns and if we don't find a way to raise wages at the bottom those people will use their guns.

Malkin has the best----and only---accurate assessment of Zarqawi and the Al Qaeda mobs in Iraq. Read her because you won't see it on any MSM outlet. Problem is that just a few nuts can kill hundreds. Powerline adds this:
So, put it all together: al Qaeda in Iraq is failing. It has little military strength, and the Iraqi people "do not support its cause." It has succeeded in one arena only: the American media. Yet, despite the despair manifested by the authors of the captured documents, that one success may be all that al Qaeda needs. Because the perverse negativity of the American press is the only view that most Americans get of the conflict's progress. And, because of their shoddy coverage of the war, our reporters and editors provide the terrorists with their only gleam of hope.

And spare us the hate mail: I didn't say it. al Qaeda did.
Read the whole thing.

Oh, by the way, in what should be a correction in a post, but is wrong only because it didn't cover the entire sorry picture at GM. In my piece of two days ago which praised the new Corvette to the sky, I should have included the disaster at Delphi, the former GM parts producer. The latest "proposal" to the workers include a pay cut of nearly 50%, a reduction in the starting wage to $10 per hour, and no guarantee that GM will be around. This could really be the end. It's nearly impossible to get a work force to accept a pay cut from $27 per hour to $16 per hour plus benefit cuts. This ain't funny, folks. Most of the 17,000 employees interviewed were willing to take pay cuts from the$28 per hour to around $22 per hour, but it's a long way from what Delphi has to do to remain open. So while the new Corvette may be a hell of a car it's not enough to keep GM from the toilet.

The other sides of this dispute include the fact that UAW workers are the last of the labor middle class. They have been able to buy homes, send kids through college, take vacations in fairly nice places, and have fueled the economy for three decades. If every laboring person can only look for a $10 per hour job then the system will be destroyed. This is a very serious situation.

Everything we conservatives have worked for over the past thirty years will go down the tubes this November. Karl Rove, who may be indicted for lying to a Grand Jury in a few weeks, is trying to drag the entire Republican party down with his boss, at least it would seem so. Things the boy genius is saying to rally the conservative base include wild support for the socialized medicine drug plan (sure to cost hundreds of billions of dollars per year), the "guest worker program" which is another word for amnesty, and the good news from Iraq that only a thousand guys will die in the next year. Rove is proving one thing: he is just as out of touch as is his boss. We have allowed ourselves to be sold down the river by a man (Bush) who is obviously mediocrity incarnate, a guy who cannot multi task, and who has wrecked the country by the appointments of the worst agency heads in memory. He should be impeached, but I think to make charges stick through that process he must be charged with high crimes and misdemeanors not incompetence. But I voted for him, so I should probably be detained by the secret police......

At last, what we've all been waiting for, a blog that is just MSM TV clips. Pretentious, boring, and carefully stage managed so that only a single p0int of view seems valid. Called Blogging Heads and it makes all of us understand why we don't watch TV News.

There was a time when Meg Ryan was the cutest, most lovable, could do no wrong, hot little piece of ass in Hollywood. Complete with some very sad pix over at I Don't etc. And as usual, Hollywood Tuna has enough eye candy (left)to give you cancer....

Cinco de Mayo, til yesterday, was one of the biggest drinking days of the year here in SoCal. After the street marches, Fuck those Mexicans Day fills the bill this year. Nobody celebrating anywhare.

Kim DuToit has been running a little poll to find out what handgun his readers prefer. I didn't enter because I only want a gun that will kill people. Period.

The Tom Cruise opus, MI3 has lots of people talking positive. Keep in mind that he put his foot in his mouth (silent birth, no drugs, and them pesky Thetans) so that useless feminists could take turns bashing him like a pinata. Are there useful feminists, Howard? Yes, some of them produce a bright light after you set them on fire...... I haven't seen MI3 yet.....

Piling on the NYT and the Sulzberger family. Will they finally dump their trust fund baby and get real? Maybe..... However we are increasingly living in a culture that rewards failure in high places. The same losers still run the car companies, the stock picking business, and so on.

The sensational Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
We had the pleasure of driving the Z06 last week, and we found it to be an eloquent rebuttal to every half-baked instant expert, every media talking head with a thimblefull of knowledge and a large dollop of "America can't compete" attitude - and every so-called automotive pundit who had Detroit dead and buried long ago.
So says GM basher and Detroit hit man, Auto Extremist, who absolutely loves this GM product and is looking for more of the same.
"They" basically said that what was accomplished with the Corvette Z06 couldn't be done. You couldn't design and develop a high-performance car that was tractable, relatively affordable and fuel-efficient - yet capable of delivering the kind of performance numbers previously reserved for super cars costing thousands upon thousands more. Well, "they" were wrong. The Z06 demonstrates conclusively that when GM focuses its best and brightest talents on a goal, they can deliver the goods. Period.
A Communist says whoopsie..."I didn't mean I was going to nationalize the silver mines," said newly minted CBF (Castro's Best Friend). Silver stocks crashed last week as everybody rightly panicked. Me, I believe the Commie Prick; he is going to take over the silver mines. Eventually.

As the S&P hits new highs, far too many S&P stocks are hitting one year lows. Watch out.

The long ago
discredited Maria Bartiromo, the so-called "Money Honey" on CNBC, has done it again. She "tipped" what she claimed was a private conversation with Fed Chief Bernake, when in fact the remarks were contained in a public speech that was supposed to be Off the Record. This woman is as close to a zero as it is possible to be, but far too many people still listen to her.

That bad boy Dick Cheney, he called the kleptomaniacal Russians bad names. Here's some plain facts: the entire country is a kleptocracy where everybody steals from everybody. Corruption cannot be total but this comes close. The exception? Gazprom, the giant government run energy company. When oil was $25 a barrel there was no end to their thievery, but now with oil at $70 there is more money in running it honestly than stealing from it. So it's honest. Gazprom is a serious threat to all the democracies in Europe because they will have their corrupt foot on everyone's throat. Russia has always been an imperial power and they will continue their bad behavior til the sun finally burns out.

Kennedy and booze, drugs, and enough money to cover up murder: those Democrats in MA would vote for a Kennedy even if there was a photograph of him killing somebody. No qualifications are required other than having the right last name.

GAS RATIONING COMING AS BOLIVIA JOINS VENEZUELA

Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Evo Morales of Bolivia are meeting to try to persuade other oil countries in Latin America to join together and strangle us. Keep in mind that a Communist is the likely winner of the upcoming election in Mexico and you have a "new reality." You can bet that this totally brain dead White House and Republican Congressional so-called leadership has no plan at all to deal with a crushing blow to our nation. Bolivia is being stalled for the moment by Brazil and Spain, both of which have huge investments in the Bolivian fields, but this is Communism. President Morales has played his hand to broad popular acclaim. On May Day he unveiled a program of state control that went further than oil. He declared:
"This is just the start. . . tomorrow or the day after it will be mining, then the forestry sector and eventually all the natural resources for which our ancestors fought."
Castro is their mentor. All is not lost because underneath all is a reality that they need the oil companies to finance exploration, but China could do the financing. Get ready for WWII all over again with gas and electricity rationing that is enforced. WWII without a president or a Congressional leadership.

Good News that just came across the wires: the Conservative canditate in the Mexican elections has polled ahead of the Commie. Now it ain't over til the fat lady votes but it is now a horse race.

Later News:
foreign investment in Bolivia has virtually dried up and this series of moves will probably drive all investment out of South America.

GOP almost certain to lose the House come November. A dispassionate and thorough piece is up at Real Clear.....

One of the Spanish lines -- sung by a Latin star named Pitbull -- translates as: "My people keep fighting/ It's time to break the chains." ... All Cox and Forkum here. BTW the tune of our National Anthem was originally an English drinking song of no note. My Country Tis of Thee is musically the same as God Save the Queen.

5/2/2006

March of the Illegals:

"I'll never vote Republican again," was the tone over dinner last night. The knoshers, admittedly Right Wing types, were reacting to the Mexican flag dominated "crowd" downtown. Simon is full of shit (what else is new?) claiming half a million; most report a quarter million at most. PJ Media is just another, less reliable version of MSM. Note: you don't estimate a crowed from inside the crowd. At any rate, those of us at dinner, all blamed Bush--refusing to obey the law---and the rest of the Republicans for the now out of control illegal alien horde. I don't know how much of the demographic is represented or if our attitude is shared. We will see. Note: two of us were black, and boy oh boy did they ever sound off.

Black Panthers at Duke: they accomplished what they wanted, which was face time on TV. FOX was especially generous with their time.

The WWII Battle of Midway was the beginning of the turning point in the Pacific War against the Japanese. We broke their codes, ambushed their fleet, and destroyed their carrier capability. Strategy Page reports how today's America hating MSM would have covered it.

Can't blog too much this AM. Work is in the way.

5/1/2006

At least once a week you owe it to yourself to drop by Strategy Page. Every time I do I learn something new (to me).....

Steve Nash MVP??? Steve Nash? The guy who missed at least five open jump shots in the fourth quarter? The guy who turned the ball over two times in the fourth quarter, the last turnover costing them the game? Rapist Kobe Bryant did neither and won the game with a clutch impossible shot to barely beat the buzzer. Kobe is MVP, face it.

Now Reynolds
is disenchanted with the Republicans. I just don't see how anyone who can think can support these totally out of the ball park tax and spend crooks. BTW his site is now good again, it must have been writing the book that got it so nothing.
