LOVE DOES NOT MAKE THE WORLD GO ROUND

"It's hatred. It's the only thing that lasts."---Charles Bukowski, "Barfly"

OK, love conquers all, peace is the answer, and cornball sayings like "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" is total crap, but we slobber all over ourselves every time somebody spews that putrid vomit because the opposite is just too tough to contemplate.

Look at History. Hate is everything. Wars are started by hate, not love; murders occur when hate triumphs over common sense; and Jesus came along because all the Jews hated the Romans and were waiting for somebody to say something that might get rid of the bastards.

The History Channels have been running a series about our Revolution and I keep hearing that everybody loved freedom and loved their country. Nobody loves a fucking country. We can love a whore, when I was a kid I loved my car, I even love hamburgers, but love freedom? Love a country? What shit. Those Revolutionary guys put up with the most horrific circumstances imaginable; their toes froze off, they lost fingers, they starved. And they died. But not for love of anything. They fought because they hated the Brits. Loyalists were lathered with tar, had feathers stuck to the tar, and then the feathers were set on fire. That's love?

Hate made the Revolution possible. Hate is what is motivating the Middle East and they ain't gunna listen to a bunch of atheist American Liberals, Godless European lefties, or any offers of money. The Muslims hate money. They hate freedom. They hate the entire West. And they hate the Jews more than anything.

How do you deal with hate? Fuck, I don't know. From the American experience with white hatred for Blacks I think you have to stomp it out by every means at your disposal.

Provide the Arabs with jobs? All jobs will provide is money to buy guns so they can shoot a few more Jews.

There is no solution but naked force

Heat Wave: here in SoCal we have what we call "nature's air conditioning" because a fog rolls in virtually every night, a fog that cools us down. Were it not for the nightly fog SoCal would be an unlivable desert, which is what we've had for the past couple of weeks. Usually when a heat wave "breaks" a wind comes up from the ocean and if you look to the horizon you see a fog bank moving toward you and thirty minutes later you are almost cold. This fog sweeps in and quickly ends the heat wave. I was on the beach when this one "broke" but the heat was so intense that the breeze was stopped dead by the wall of high pressure about 50 yards inland and it took nearly ten hours to creep in. Today's high was about 72 and high fog blotted out the sun. The heat wave is over in this area and one can only hope that this cooling trend will spread east.

Tons of stuff the MSM is afraid to show you....

MOSUL, Iraq – Soldiers from 3rd Platoon, Company C, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team visited an orphanage in Mosul, Iraq July 10, bringing gifts for the children.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The 4th Infantry Division’s Infrastructure Coordination Element, donated about $2 million worth of excavating and clean-up equipment to essential services departments from the Rasheed and Karradah Districts in Baghdad Sunday.

Mel Gibson's reported anti-Semitic tirade, launched while being booked for DUI in Malibu, may destroy his career. (Perez Hilton sums up the shit). Too bad, but "they" have been laying for him ever since "Passion of the etc." and now they have their red meat. The always accurate LA Times doesn't mention the tirade at all (they will cover up any Hollywood celeb regardless of politics).

In a related story, there is a rumor that Lindsay Lohan,

(at left looking for her brain) joining the fray, is also blaming Jews for her lateness to work, the loss of her virginity, and a series of unflattering photos taken, she claims, by some kike on a mission.....

According to I Don't Like You in that Way:
.... Lohan is a lacklustre actress who's lucky anyone hires her to do anything. I wouldn't even pay
her to walk my dogs for fear she'd just get them high and have sex with them.

IT AIN'T TERRORISM, STUPID

Seattle Hysteria....talk about paranoia..... We are seeing a terrorist behind every short circuit. The "blogosphere" is alive with rumor, update, psychobabble, and hallucination trying to "prove" that the Seattle shooting is actually a terrorist act. Pajamas Media, not exactly the place to look for reliable "news," even gave us a running account of this non existent story. All this despite zero evidence of: membership in a terror group or cell, the existence in the Seattle area of any terror cell, no FBI profiles on the guy, or any other evidence of anything other than the act of an individual. Actually this is a typical "media induced" act of a fucked up guy listening to all the jihad talk and then acting out his fantasy. None of this will stop the post menopausal Michelle Malkin from her diarrhea out bursts.

The "weird" markets.....After twenty years in the biz, allow me to offer something constructive. All the overpaid assholes on TV MUST come on with a reason for every blip or they lose their face time. Nobody knows day to day why a market does what it does absent some obvious piece of new information.

What we have now is a classic defensive "repositioning" before an election that looks more and more like a Democrat walkover . The fear here is that there is an almost guarantee of a tax increase on investors. Take a look at the "rotation" of the widely held stocks as the huge funds gradually get safe. Trust me, you could see a thousand point crash if it looks like the Democrats are a lock. The one thing holding the market up right now is the conviction that Bush will veto any tax increase.

Hey, I Steve, a tip from a sometimes professional writer: NEVER publish satire without labeling it in the title. Safe to say that none of the contents of the Human Events "satire" happened or came close to happening. BTW it is a piss poor excuse for writing anyway.

A DEATH IN THE FAMILY

LA Times RIP should be the title on the adjacent graph. The soaring line represents the exploding of the LA population; the bottom two represent the Sunday and weekday circulation during the explosion, which amazingly has actually declined. The details of the floundering corporate giant are listed HERE. Most interesting is the fact that even while the paper was hemorrhaging circulation they kept on purchasing other media in an attempt to buy their way back into the market. Never, as in NEVER, did they consider revising their totally Left Wing and slanted news stories and editorial policies. It is a fact that back in the 70s almost everyone read the paper, especially the Sports section which has been politically correct for at least twenty years. Now nobody living outside the upper middle class "hills" reads it. I've commented many times that work places have no copies anywhere.

Why am I not joining the discussion about the warring bloggers exchanging insults and so forth? This entire episode is another straw on the camel's back weighing down the "blogosphere." As I've been observing for some time, too much of the blog content has become superficial and petty to the extreme.

Firefox officially stamps itself as incompetent.....today they sent us all "fixes" that are supposedly "critical." But guess what? Their supposed new site called Mozilla.com doesn't work so you cannot fix the critical flaws. I just cannot wait for MSIE 7...... BTW, a ton of Firefox users have been complaining on the Mozilla website for an entire day but still no fix....Did Bush appoint the leaders of Mozilla? Details at 11.....

Is is just me or are the commercials featuring whining Katrina "victims" piss poor excuses for grubbing more government handouts... Or are they DNC ads trying to make Bush look even worse? At any rate, when combined with those pissing and moaning assholes from Lebanon demanding (and getting) free handouts for being forced to leave their luxury hotels and be transported out of there on my dime, any beg for handouts looks bad.....

There is
a good comment on this post (1) that bears reading, if only because it puts another log on the MidEast fire. I have one serious point to make on the situation. It has been an established fact ever since the London Blitz of WWII that bombing civilians only serves to make the population wildly patriotic and much much tougher. Bombing civilians only prolongs a conflict. My favorite example is from a super great (and mostly unread) book called "Berlin Diaries" wherein we see that people who hated Hitler to the point of conspiring in the attempt to assassinate him, worked in defense plants because their hatred of the Allies became even greater. The Israel bombing has caused a civilian population to rally to the Hizbolla cause.

OK, back from the beach and getting caught up. Hugh Hewett last Friday is a must read for those of us who think the Democratic Party is becoming has become anti-Semitic. I personally think that Dingell (D-Saudi Arabia) ought to register as a foreign agent. Hewitt makes a good point in showing us just who will be chair of various committees.

And this shit from Kos sure lays it out there. All the bad old anti Semite ravings from the past, the stuff the old Left forced the Right to get rid of, is back and they are Left Left Left.....

Temp last night at 7PM: 96 degrees; tonight at 7PM: 83 degrees. The heat wave has been punctured here and one hopes it will spread east, north, and south. I've been staying at the beach for a while to escape and haven't had the time to do anything other than jump into the ocean every 15 minutes.

Things that are a waste of time include Pajamas Media, virtually all podcasting (which really is composed of total incompetents), and any site that claims to give you up to date "news." TV has instant news of the war(s), the blackouts, and the gossip. There are a few specialized sites like LGF Iraq the Model, Malkin, and so on that give some insights into what is going on. But podcasts? Give me a break, the perfect example of mediocrity rising to the top. And if you haven't heard of everything on Pajamas a day earlier than they "report" you have something seriously wrong with you. BTW it is becoming increasingly clear that the "blogosphere" has blown itself up to unsustainable levels of self congratulatory hot air. Useless as Hollywood Awards and empty as a Terrorist Hospital for Jewish babies. There are now tens of thousands of sites out there manned (womaned) by every MSM wannabe, corporation, and the usual lies by political operatives. Freedom of speech carried to an absurd extreme. I predict a resurgence of MSM and I'm not kidding, and if the new practice of forcing us to view and listen to commercials continues, the MSM will be back sooner than any of us ever thought....

Israel will be toast next time, and there will be a next time you can count on it. Just imagine Hezbolla launching atomic weapons at Isreal, and they are sure to do it.

Tonight both NBC and CNN started showing pictures of crying children and dead babies that the Israelis have killed. Vietnam reportage so just be ready for it. Our colleges are increasingly anti-Semitic and our left is becoming the haven for all of them. All hope we lose in the Middle East and most hope Israel gets wiped off the face of the earth. The Israel bashers are surfacing and while there is legitimate cause for taking a hard look at that country, it is not legit to attack the U.S. for our actions. All networks, including FOX, are tilting against Israel this morning. The current "conflict" started back in 1947 when the UN, led by the U.S., gave land that colonial Britain had carved out of Arab lands to Israel, a country that didn't exist. The reason for this action was the guilt the democracies of Europe and America bore for Hitler's slaughter of the Jews from 1937 through 1945. America went so far as to bar Jews escaping from Germany from entering the U.S. Instead, we forced them to stay in Nazi Germany where they were exterminated. In 1947 when pictures of concentration camp skeletons appeared in every newspaper and magazine "we" all joined in providing a "homeland" for the Jews.

1. Proxy War---in the WWII days there was the "phony war," a period of time when Hitler did nothing after declaring war. Now we have the "Proxy War" so named because the real combatants are not in the field but instead use surrogate forces. Iraq the Model has the goods and the obvious solution, one that Bush and Blair will refuse to use. Daniel Pipes has the same solution.

World Cup (girls) SOFTBALL is something exciting to watch. The pitchers toss 70mph assortments of pitches from 45 feet away from the plate (same as 100+mph on regular field), the bases are only sixty feet away from each other, which means the game is really fast and our girls are all really really fast. Take a look on ESPN.

Political scare site of the year is here. This far far left site features short movies and tapes of conspiracy "facts" that are very effective, effective because they are delivered in a flat matter of fact style by respected figures. This site is true believer Left with no obscenities or any other speech that might offend. Very good and very scary.

Left are the worst pictures of Jenna Jamison available, which is to say that there is no such thing as a bad Jamison pic. But the big news about her is that she is one porn performer who has become very very rich, a one in a ten thousand occurance. Why? Well it's because porn pays next to nothing, $500 per shoot is the norm, and most girls work three times per week and leave the occupation within three years. Besides, most of them are terminally stupid, far too stupid to parlay their attributes. Jamison is very smart and probably a lousy fuck. Courtesy of the always babe filled Hollywood Tuna. And you MUST click on the above pix.

DEFICIT REDUCTION DUE TO OIL FOR FOOD PROGRAM

Gasoline prices have risen more than a dollar per gallon over the past year yet the economy has still boomed. Would you say raising gasoline prices are good for economic growth? Do those extra costs create jobs? To say that the economy is booming due to tax cuts is truly a leap.

How does anybody know that tax cuts caused an economic boom? What information do any of us have that proves it? Sure it helps investors but where does it say that increased investment creates jobs? I'd say that increased employment creates increased investment. Increased investment boosts share prices, but as far as creating jobs how can anything other than new investment in new companies or products boost employment?

Let me pose a situation: I have splitting headaches that hit me every few days. They are so bad that I cannot work several days per month. A doctor gives me some medication to take every day and thirty days later the headaches are gone. Does this prove anything? Does it prove the medication worked? Well let's continue; the doctor failed to run a few tests which would have shown a serious blood clot in an artery in my head and I had a cancer that was not diagnosed, both conditions could have caused my headaches. Due to God or whatever, my unseen blood clot dissolved and my undiagnosed cancer went into remission; now what would you say about the "medicine?"

I'm just saying that there are things underlying the economy that no one can measure and that nobody can even recognize. To say that the tax cuts are responsible for the deficit reduction is like saying that increased sexual activity among teens is the result of the UNs oil for food program.

Mark Steyn's letters is packed with praise for Ann Coulter. As I have reported here twice, the Jersey Girls are worse than she says they are and if you want details, go here.

This single sentence
from the Judicial opinion denying Congressman Jefferson's attempt to declare the search of his office unconstitutional says it all:
Congressman Jefferson's interpretation of the Speech or Debate privilege would have the effect of converting every congressional office into a taxpayer-subsidized sanctuary for crime.
There are those among us who think Congress has already become a sanctuary for crime, but we are reminded that total hypocrisy is not criminal.

PC report: this time it's football the feminist darlings on the Left want to kill. They keep reporting the violence of "football players" when in fact it is Black violence that is in play almost every time. Note that when these fem bitches report a white guy he is identified in full, as in the case of the "Hah-vahd" linebacker; when it is Blacks, as in the latest case of the gang rape of an eleven year old, why it's football players, all unidentified. Feminists, one and all, want to get rid of football. Period. How do I know they are black? Used to live in Fresno and I know the territory.

Another triumph for the Republicans. Now they are going to ban online gambling. The GOP is sticking government's nose into my business (not that the Dems wouldn't do worse). The hypocrisy of these Republican shitheads gives me one more reason to stay home this election..... Fuck them.

It's "Deadwood," stupid. The emptiness of the Emmy "Awards" is proven beyond the shadow of a doubt when a series of this astounding quality on every level doesn't get even one nomination. HBO deserves better from the "Academy." But then what should we expect from a group that awards "Desperate Housewives" as the artistic mountain top?

The Emmy is a feather that all production companies actively campaign for, so we must assume that HBO (97 nominations) execs felt that Deadwood was so violent in both language and action, that they didn't campaign for it. If you ain't watching it you are missing sensational TV, all of it conforming exactly to the history of that town and the language and actions of that era of the really "wild West."

MADISON AND WASHINGTON WARNED US, NOW WE DO IT ANYWAY

Democracies are actually fragile entities when we consider how few of them last. Right now we are forgetting how fragile and precious our Democracy is. When George Washington left office he saw that our country was in great danger of being victimized by the "factions" he saw all around him. Washington warned:
The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.
The current death struggle style of political fighting between Left and Right, a fight that is getting dirtier and more vicious by the second, was something that the authors of the Federalist Papers feared most when they were considering the "new" democracy. James Madison, writing in Paper Ten, expressed the fear of factions, which he defined as:....
..a number of citizens, whether amounting to a majority or a minority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adversed to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community.
It's obvious we'd call abortion, gay rights, and the "impeach Bush" crowd a faction that is dangerous on its face. But what about factions that succeeded in granting Blacks full civil rights? Or the one that formed labor unions? Some are good and some are not so good.

Madison urged rejection of both a "pure" democracy and a Confederation of states. Instead he urged the formation of a Republic as the best way to avoid the effects of factions on all government. He pointed out that everywhere factions had resulted in violence. Factions were dangerous to everyone.
The friend of popular governments never finds himself so much alarmed for their character and fate, as when he contemplates their propensity to this dangerous vice (factions).
He will not fail, therefore, to set a due value on any plan which, without violating the principles to which he is attached, provides a proper cure for it. The instability, injustice, and confusion introduced into the public councils, have, in truth, been the mortal diseases under which popular governments have everywhere perished; as they continue to be the favorite and fruitful topics from which the adversaries to liberty derive their most specious declamations.
There are again two methods of removing the causes of faction: the one, by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence; the other, by giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests.
The Founders recognized that the "cure" for factions was worse than the disease because it is natural to have lots of disagreements, in fact the expressions of disagreements were a bedrock of democracy. They also recognized that if a minority held a violently different opinion a Republican government would contain it, but that if it were a majority opinion the Constitution (country) would destroy itself. So it was said that a Republican form of government would contain the EFFECTS of faction, not the faction itself. The events leading up to the Civil War showed the extreme result of powerful factions on our Republic and that extreme factionalism will tear asunder any form of government.

Are we at the edge of that disaster right now? I think we may very well be. The tone of the Left can be seen on all their blogs and discourses; the tone of the extremes on the Right brook no compromises on anything. We can only hope that events cure this extreme form of madness.

Republican government by itself cannot.

If you want to get depressed about Iraq and Baghdad go here to Iraq the Model. It ain't good there folks.

I've been too busy to read Michael Yon's pages for the past month and a half. If you have been put off by his main page, one that seems to be whining self aggrandizing crap, click to the stuff on the right side of the page. A small sample:
I have spoken with many Special Forces soldiers about Iraq and Afghanistan. Most agree that we are making serious progress in Iraq, but those same Special Forces soldiers say that Afghanistan is a disaster. One soldier had done two tours in Afghanistan, and he said it plainly. “Mike, when we build a schoolhouse in Iraq, the Iraqis make a school out of it and use it to study. When we build a schoolhouse in Afghanistan, an Imam comes in and teaches people to hate us. Building a schoolhouse is not the same as building a school. A schoolhouse is just a building. Iraqis believe in learning and progress. Afghans walk in circles.”
Go HERE and read the whole thing this weekend. Those of us trying to find the reality in Iraq and Afghanistan come to learn that there are a million realities over there, most of them thousands of years old and many of them bad.

THE GENIE IS OUT OF THE BOTTLE

When will we all face the fact that everybody can make an atomic bomb? Idiots can, and have, made them. The only question is when and for what purpose will they be used. I think we have to develop our anti-missile systems so we can blow them out of the sky and let the rest of the European pussies flounder around for themselves.

HOORAY! THE GAMBLING TABLES ARE OPEN

New Jersey Governor John Corzine, the Democratic legislature, and the always left media have conspired to foist a huge tax increase on the people of New Jersey who just bend over for the usual. Democrats equal higher taxes and all they had to do was close the gambling casinos. Brilliant...

THEY STILL STINK

Most boring sport? We used to discuss the tie between women's tennis and soccer. Then, with the magic of the two ounce titanium racquet, women suddenly began to play a game worth watching. Anna Kournikova (shown left, after getting umpire to change a linesman's "out" call) and now Maria Sharapova (shown below right cleverly luring lesbian opponent to double fault) supply the eye candy plus tennis that made a lot of us watch.....til now. BT (before titanium), the women served at around 75 mph, had sizzling forehands of 50mph, and all had slice backhands that resulted in the 20mph shot. Now
serves go at 110 and forehands rip at 90mph; the size of the "used to be starving" Eastern Europeans was in the midget area, today they are all over six feet tall. Finally it was beginning to look like soccer was the clear winner of the most boring contest.

Until now.

Wimbledon shows us a return to women's tennis at its roaring boring worst. It's a major news story when a woman can hold her serve; they are completely incapable of coming to the net; and when they get depressed (often) they just give entire sets away. So it's better than it used to be, but they still stink.

The absolute inflation indicator has just gone off, and everybody better pay attention. During the last inflation bout in the 80s, construction sites and apartment buildings were robbed of their copper wiring by gangs. NYC was almost stripped. With copper prices over $3 it means you can make a fortune stealing copper wire. The first of a ton of cases has taken place in SoCal and a phone wire theft has shut down Verizon phone service in one entire county.
The wire, owned by Verizon Communications, was stolen near the intersection of Sixth Street and Hellman Avenue. According to Verizon spokesman Jon Davies, the company started noticing trouble on the circuit at 7 a.m.

It was the second instance of copper wire theft this past week in the Inland Empire. On Friday, Riverside County sheriff's deputies arrested two men on theft and vandalism charges for allegedly cutting AT&T lines. According to officials, the lines were cut for copper, which was valued at $30,000.
There is another piece about a different theft HERE
Riverside County Sheriff's deputies first responded to an alarm activated by phone lines about 4 a.m., according to a sheriff's press release. But even with the help of phone company officials, the cause of the alarm could not be found.

More than an hour later, the police were called back, and this time found a cut section of phone lines. The lines were cut for the copper inside. The value of the wire is estimated at $30,000, according to police.
A google search shows many other pieces in many other states. This is bad news.

Why America thinks that there ain't no fucking war...

If terrorists were actually going into super markets, schools, or hospitals and blowing themselves up we would know there is a war on. What we actually have is a war against our interests overseas (oil wells, ships in ports, embassies and so on). They cannot attack here only because there is no hiding place in our country for them, no place to lurk while building bombs, no large organizations that will hide them.

Islam cannot go to war against us because they have no friends here. In all societies where they are active the religion has been entrenched for decades. Even Britain has places for them to hide.

Until some professors at Princeton, students at an Ivy college, or children in hospitals are killed nobody here will regard 9/11 as anything more than a fluke attack. No follow up means no war.

Meanwhile, in a major event, the Catholic Church has awakened after turning the other cheek for fifty years of priest killing, nun raping, Muslim thuggery. The new pope faces reality.

El Voto de Mexico

Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, the places that 95% of Americans visit when going South of the Border, ain't Mexico. You have to either go into the countryside (almost certain death) or into the southern provences like Chiapas (again, don't go there alone). Then there are the isolated indian tribes like the Huichol who have completely recovered from the Spanish and are more numerous than they were when Cortez and the guys arrived. These tribes are a real menace because they hate everybody and every religion. Naturally, all these uneducated tribes live in poverty and are always in a state of near rebellion. All this is compounded by the "revolutionistas" who continually agitate the poor slobs.

Corn is the big deal. It is the holiest of crops (food of the gods), which used to be their main crop but is now a non-sustaining crop due to climate change (not Global Warming). Corn barely grows anywhere in Mexico any more but the commies keep telling the poor slobs that there is plenty of corn in the "norte" that the government won't let them have. This simmering cauldron of resentment and hate is always ready to explode and no amount of NAFTA or anything else will improve the lot of this ignorant horde of people.

No matter who "wins" an election there, the real problem is the uneducated indian tribes.

BTW, corn is the very first crop that was genetically engineered way back in almost pre-history. The original crop, known as teosinte, has been hybridized by the indians over thousands of years til it has become the corn we know today. Had the enironazis been able to influence the Aztecs we wouldn't have no corn at all.

The ever more slimy NYT published a picture of Rumsfeld's house complete with location of security device. Now what could be the purpose of that? Do we have a right to know? Of course not, this is a solicitation for assassination in one of the largest circulation newspapers in the U.S. But the fish wrap goes one step further, they list the high profile people who also live in the area and basically furnish directions on how to find their places; another solicitation to terrorists and criminals.

BOREDOM CAUSES VIOLENCE

World Cup: Because my back went out big time I am confined to living life from a prone position and almost HAD to watch the World Cup this Saturday. I am not surprised that fights broke out almost everywhere in Europe after the games. The boring nature of that "sport?" means that young guys with testosterone counts in the nine hundred thousand in a million will end up acting out the offence that their teams never display. Everything we Americans have been brought up to believe about sports is challenged by the existence of this European wussie activity. When you have fake injuries as "part of the sport," as was stated by the soccer hyping commentator, you have a fraud. Also the lack of offense, meaning the lack of even attempting to score as in the first game between England and Italy, makes for the most boring possible encounter, one which was "won" by the officials and something called "penalty kicks." I must admit that even though the second game had almost no scoring at all either, the fact that both teams were continually trying to score supplied tension as the 90 minutes wore on. Yet when all is said and done, my earlier comment about Brazil just working out with a bunch of fancy dan moves without doing any scoring executed by so-called all stars (more accurately a bunch of over the hill old geezers) was proved to be correct. Bottom line, this game will never catch on here unless fake injuries are punished and a rule to eliminate the refusal to score that is similar to basketball rules, those that demand the launch of an attack within a time certain period of time (and a shot clock??) are put in force.

As a post script, I have a close friend who is a soccer coach who is of the opinion that when coaches have video tapes of opposing teams the only result between closely matched teams is total lack of scoring. He told me that, unlike football or even basketball, soccer has very few original "plays" that can be called. This meant that a team like Brazil which attacked with a "four slant" offense could be shut down no matter how clever the players are if the scouting is correct. I think soccer will eventually change the "offside rule" so that plays will be called and executed in much quicker thrusts. Maybe that addition, along with the offside rule change, would liven the game so it would catch on here.

BTW the "offside" rule was changed in 2003 (applied in 2005) that limits the effect of speed, a change that many feel was put in by white Europeans to counter the athletic and speed advantages enjoyed by Blacks (Brazil, all the African countries). The current "offside rule" is just a change of the original 1925 rule which had so limited goal scoring that the game was in danger of boring everyone to death. The application of the "new" rule resulted in an immediate three fold increase in scoring. The rule was changed again in 1990 because the scoring had become too low once again. The problem now is a device called the "offside trap" in which the defense sends two or three guys down ahead of the ball thus making it impossible to attack without violating the "offside rule." The application of any "offside rule" was originally put in more than a century ago to stop "cherry picking," a tactic of leaving one player at the opponent goal to "cherry pick" a long pass. While this sounds innocent, the game had become a bore because all teams were just kicking the ball to their "cherry picker" who was in turn guarded by other guys who were trying to stop the cherry picker from ever seeing the ball.

Meanwhile, I lay on my back applying a vibrator to my aching back and smiling because the NFL training camps begin to open on July 24th; a man's game in which the only rule change being contemplated is whether it should be a five or fifteen yard penalty for gouging a guys eyes out while tackling.

Conspiracy

The collusion between the networks to slant news and black out stories was illustrated this AM for all to see. The most anticipated tennis match at the Wimbledon Tennis championships was the much hyped Agassi vs Nadal, a match that NBC had exclusive rights to telecast. The tennis match started at the same time as the World Cup game between England and Portugal, a soc cer game that was carried live by ABC.

Here's the conspiracy: ALL the networks not showing the tennis match; ABC, ESPN 1 and 2, plus a channel called ESPN News, blacked out the score of the completed Tennis match so NBC would have an audience. Of course all anyone with a computer had to do was pick up Drudge, Yahoo, or any local TV station to get the result while the roaring boring zero to zero soccer match was televised.

But that is not the point. The point is that these network "news" and "sports" networks conspire with one another to withhold a sports score. What makes any of you think they don't conspire on the news?

BTW; Superman is being shown in 3D IMAX in virtually every major city and country in the world EXCEPT the good old USA where only Austin TX is showing it. LA has three IMAX theatres but no Super Dooper Guy.
