....AND A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM

KING KONG: as readers know, I have a huge extended family living here in LA. All of them, including at least 25 children were at our annual Christmas Eve party. I asked a seven year old who had seen the movie if she liked it.

"It sucked. Yuk."

This review was backed up by every kid that saw it as well as every parent, most of whom thought it was a total waste of time.

That didn't keep me away today. What do a bunch of pre teen punks and their cinematically challenged parents know about art? It turns out that they know enough to smell a fart bomb. First, we had to sit through 25 minutes of previews of coming disasters (Jennifer Anniston's new movie has to be a total bomb, I only mention it because that trailer was the worst). There wasn't a single upcoming movie that is original, which is to say they are all remakes of TV series or old movies.

Then King Kong started. And started. And started. One fucking hour of a boat getting to an island. I walked without seeing the monkey.

There were only about thirty of us in the theatre and none were kids. Jesus, what a piece of shit. I should have listened to them kids at the party. They obviously know about real art.

Not ready for success: Eva Langoria who seems to be in mid life crises. Latest, is hurling a racial slur at a Mexican cop. BTW, she is not even very pretty; most of her web pics showshe's a seven at best.

NOTES FROM THE FOGOSPHERE

OK, it's a holiday and I have time for this:
There are two parallel cosmos at work in the opinion world. They are the "blog-osphere" and the "fog-osphere." The latter "sphere" is populated by dreamers, people who see what they want to see, and some all around sweet people without a clue. Everybody visits the fogosphere from time to time and launches a column or web posting from that polyanna universe that will rationalize everything from child molesting to socialism (there is a minor difference between the two). The oh so sweet Peggy Noonan visits this fogosphere often and last Wednesday's hazy view of the MSM is her latest nicey nice ode to the awful MSM people who she says are well intentioned, really nice, or just misunderstood. Yesterday the usually hard nosed Charles Krauthammer launched himself into ditsyville from whence he authored a column that thrashes about in a fantasy land regarding the requests to impeach George Bush.

Let's get real here. The guy who created Kos, one Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, created the site to create what he calls "noise." This term means that he exists to create "noise" about subjects near and dear to Lefties who want to win an election. Zúniga is the one who has led the charge to impeach Bush, to demand his readers write letters to every pollster in the universe requesting polls on the subject, and to phone talk shows requesting the same. This "noise" has been picked up by all the usual suspects who are now making a discordant cacophany for impeachment in every media. The purpose is to create a rude chorus so loud that the completely clueless Republicans will lose in '06 and not understand why.

The only way to drown out noise is with more noise and not, as clueless Bush did over the Iraq war until it was almost too late, turn the other cheek just knowing that reason will prevail. The truth of that stupid philosophy is best stated by the aphorism: "Turn the other cheek and you'll get hit with the other fist." This shows that Bush had a much too long a visit in the "fogosphere" and almost blew everything.

Recognize the "impeach Bush" noise for what it is and do some writing, call some talk shows, and raise some hell yourselves. Write to Noonan and Krauthammer in care of Ambrosia Manor, Happydale, KS and request copies of their commitment papers.

.....And This:

Because I'm pissed that Adelphia jacked up my cable TV rates I checked into getting Direct TV, a deal that requires I also get DSL. So to completely check costs I called my local phone thieves, SBC. I found that AT&T has purchased SBC so they are now called AT&T. I call the local office and am put into a string of recordings, none of which will answer two questions: do you provide a modem and an ethernet card, and/or do I have to buy them and what are the costs. Then I emailed them the questions. They replied with several links to their web pages that don't answer the questions either.

Following the Peter Lynch stock advice: either short AT&T, sell what AT&T stock you own, and/or stay with Adelphia and learn to enjoy being fucked.

BELOW YOU WILL SEE MY LAST BLOG POSTING: I have a job that requires a lot of time and brain power, one that leaves me too tired to research and write properly. To those forty thousand or so who visit each week I thank you for liking me enough to drop by. For those of you who blog and seek to build traffic, let me offer this: I never did any of the kiss ass things everyone else has done nor any of the stuff that other "pros" suggest be done in order to build traffic; I did not link to other sites for a quid-pro-quo; I did not do mass emails; I didn't do the back links or anything else. The traffic came on its own, but much is from Google links because I somehow got on their list. I have never run an ad and have never made a dime from this blog effort, nor did I ever have the intention of doing so. The "blogosphere" has changed since I started, in many ways for the better. There are many professionals from many fields who now write opinions that cannot be found in any other medium, and this is good. I only point to auto extremist and the Boeing blog as two outstanding examples out of many.

BUT there are many more who are now in it for the money they think they can make from advertising, much of it through links to sites that pay them off. Many more are using it for publicity in order to make money in their "real businesses." Others agree to secretly shill for political parties or candidates. Money corrupts. Just consider what might happen if you dared to say "motherfucker" or any one of a hundred "dirty words" when ad money is coming in. What else cannot be said? The term Political Correctness isn't always the Left imposing their restrictions on everyone else, it can be any advertiser(s) pulling money out from under you because what is said "offends." The entire idea of blogging was total freedom and if it now drifts into the MSM concept of ad supported writing it's all over. A tried and true method of building traffic is to plant phony comments in one's own comment section (Kos and Democratic Underground anybody?) in order to create blogger rage, one which mentions the blogger's name (naturally) as they quote from the horrible comments. I didn't do that stuff either.

I have enjoyed my three years of shooting off my mouth without fear of retribution other than to receive some of the nastiest emails imaginable. I have also found that too many bloggers actually save comments made on their sites for use against the writer at a later date. Many actually go sites other than their own just to read comments from other bloggers which they save for use against him at a later time; there are about ten more or less high traffic sites who let me know they'd punish me for my comments on other sites by refusing to link to me.

I never gave a fat fuck and I don't now. And BTW my traffic is greater than most of theirs.

Merry Christmas and it's been a fun ride.

Fox about to take a ratings hit?? It will if cable companies other than Adelphia follow their lead. This week Adelphia moved all Fox broadcasting, including all their sports broadcasting, to another "tier" for which we all have to pay an additional $30 to receive.

To be totally factual, included in this new "tier" are the low ratings gathering CNBC and MSNBC along with the equally low rated Headline News. My opinion is that Adelphia is trying to present bogus income to future buyers. Right now I am looking into Direct TV, but I'm finding hidden costs there too and marginal savings at best.

What I've been saying for months, that Iraq is most likely to become an Islamist state probably as bad as any excepting Iran and Saudi Arabia, is echoed this AM at Jihad Watch. These people have no intention of parting from Shiria Law, giving women rights, or having a secular system of law. This isn't over. None of us will sit still at the establishment of an Islamic state at the cost of a couple of thousand U.S. deaths. Saddr is still sitting with thousands of armed thugs at his command just for starters.

First this from Truth on Iraq an interview with General Casey as is in Newsweek coming out Tuesday:
Dec. 26, 2005 - Jan 2, 2006 issue - General George Casey has been in charge of U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq since June 2004. He oversaw U.S. forces when they quelled a Shiite rebellion in Najaf and has since pulled U.S. troops out of the city and handed control over to the Iraqis. But Casey also ordered the huge assault on Fallujah one year ago in which more than 50 U.S. Marines died and where the insurgency continues to retain a broad base of popular support. Last week, Casey was in the air in a Blackhawk helicopter over several cities watching Iraq's historic election with a bird's eye view. He spoke with NEWSWEEK's Baghdad bureau chief, Scott Johnson, before and after Election Day on hopes and concerns for the country's future.

What's happened here is unprecedented. Saddam Hussein is on trial, they've gotten sovereignty, they've passed through three elections, written a constitution and had a referendum on the constitution and with our assistance built the security forces. That's unprecedented. It's unbelievable. It's been the courage of the Iraqis and the commitment and professionalism of the U.S. military. I feel pretty good. But we've got a ways to go.

Looks like the Democrats are fooling nobody, thank God. One day Iraq will be a G7 member hosting the Olympics in the world's No. 1 luxury vacation resort of Fallujah, and the Defeaticrat Party will still be running around screaming it's a quagmire. The Democratic Party have contrived to get themselves into a situation where bad news from Iraq is good for them and good news from Iraq is bad for them.

Plus comparing the "Gay Cowboy" movie to the Democrats All HERE at Mark Steyn
If you haven't dropped by Michael Yon or received an email with this link, click on it and go there. Very very long download so if you don't have broadband, fugedaoudit. Pass it around per his request. It really is quite moving.

More King Kong grosses....Libertas makes a hell of a point about this picture being three hours long so that theatres are limited in the number of times per day that it can be shown. Everybody I talk to wants to see it.

Debbie Schlussel is a must read..... We have some serious problems within the ICE and nobody but her is paying attention.

Live Blogging of Iraq Elections: Jesus what a waste of time. Not a thing posted that wasn't on TV. Even the almost always informative Belmont Club is just hot air. There are uses for MSM and uses for blogging, they rarely coincide. I'm beginning to think realize that only other bloggers are reading blogs, a finite audience. As I analyze my own traffic (40,000 per week) I have lots of Google but tons of bloggers. BTW I ran a test ad for two days within the blog (not on a sidebar) and had traffic of 11,000 readers, not page views. Out of eleven thousand visits the ad only had five click throughs and four buyers of the cheapest choice. My Madison Ave pals tell me that this is about par for the course regarding blog response; book ads do better, mainly because the ads are not announced but placed serreptitiously inside a posting as a link to a source when it is actually a link to a commission for referring. In the real world placing a link in order to make money without notifying the reader you are being paid is a crime. All the Pajamas Media slugs linking to OSM without notifiying the reader that there is financial reward for the poster is a crime. Speaking for me, my eyes never wander to anyone's sidebar, I just read the text and I NEVER click a link to Amazon.

Very interesting interview with Colin Powell over at News Com Australia.
THE US administration was never told of doubts about the secret intelligence used to justify war with Iraq, former secretary of state Colin Powell told the BBC in an interview to be broadcast on Sunday night.

Mr Powell, who argued the case for military action against Saddam Hussein in the UN in 2003, told BBC News 24 television he was "deeply disappointed in what the intelligence community had presented to me and to the rest of us."

"What really upset me more than anything else was that there were people in the intelligence community that had doubts about some of this sourcing, but those doubts never surfaced to us," he said.
He goes on to describe the Administration's commitment to Iraq and what it must be
For his part, Mr Powell considered the US military could not be deployed in Iraq at its current strength for years to come, raising the possibility of withdrawal from next year.

But he told the BBC that "essentially just to walk away, to say that we're taking all of our troops out as fast as we can, would be a tragic mistake". A US presence would be required in Iraq for "years", he added.

"We've invested a great deal in this country, and the Iraqi people deserve democracy and the freedom that they were promised when we got rid of Saddam Hussein and we have to stay with them... until they decide that they can get it now on their own, they don't need us any longer," he added.

"And even then, I suspect, there will be a continuing relationship and presence of some significance for some years to come."
He also offers the opinion that his relationships with Rumsfeld after Iraq invasion were not very good.

Reactions from the Democratic Underground range from obscene to deranged. Samples:

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN

Re; the supposed poor grosses for King Kong. Kaus speculates that the audience wanted a total babe to look at and not an ugly monkey. I think the Mickster really has something. So without further ado, here's a few babes I might want to see forty feet high by 130 feet wide carting off a helpless satyr who has fallen in love with her.

Can you see her clutching the phallic Empire State tower while holding helpless little you in the palm of her hand?

Or how about being concealed in the cleavage of this super babe as she stomps around New York looking for a big enough bedroom for the two of you?

Or having this über bitch hiding you in her undies as she defies New York?

Just goes to show that PC casting has wrecked a potential blockbuster. Oh well, you can still hit the gay cowboy movie.....

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN grosses are pathetic. The Lefty Homo spin would have you believe that this is a runaway hit that EVERYBODY is seeing. $965,000 plus in one week is horrible. You will note that the daily grosses drop each day.

-38% / $20,651 day
$650,681 / 4 $99,152

-4% / $19,830 day
$749,833 / 5 $112,895

13.9% / $14,112 day
$862,728 / 6 $103,089

-8.7% / $12,886 day
$965,817 / 7 DAY TOTAL

The New York Times "leak" that was published a year after they had the story: is it just an accident that it was published the day after the Iraq elections thus relegating the reporting of same to page six? I mentioned here several weeks ago that the CIA is now an agency that is waging war against the president and should be shut down.
Daniel Patrick Moynahan, when he was in the Senate said, look this institution is a creature of the Cold War. It was created to fight the Cold War. It did a so-so job. He was critical even of the way it did that. But it is now so ingrained in the culture of the Cold War that the best thing to do is shut it down. Hive off the different functions to different intelligence agencies but shut the CIA down and start again. Greg?
This is not a spy agency, it's a CYA keep your job agency and should be shut down.

Lt Smash is conducting a campaign in support of the war and its objectives that you might want to join. Me? I live in a Left Wing neighborhood so bad that cars with Bush bumper stickers got trashed and one guy had his windshield broken, my congressman is Waxman so far left he thinks communism doesn't go far enough, Boxer and Feinstein are my senators; think they'll support the war? But if you are living in an even reasonable district get on over there and join.

Reynolds links to a post on Club for Growth about sugar subsidies. Well Reynolds won't link to me, but if the phony bastard bothered you would have seen this way back April of 04:
The government sent out 22 million farm subsidy checks just two years ago. Starting with sugar; cane sugar subsidized eighteen cents a pound and beet sugar at twenty-two cents a pound; the world price is between five and seven cents per pound.. The sugar subsidy cost you and me $1.4 billion per year in higher food costs. According to the GAO study, 33 sugar farmers have received more than $1 million each in government subsidies, with one Florida family receiving $65 million in one year alone. The GAO errs; the subsidies go to processors, not farmers. Farmers get zero.

Because the subsidies go directly to sugar processors and not the farmers there is a labyrinth of business and farming interests involved in keeping the sugar program in place. Growers are part owners of processing plants and so on.

ADM and Carghill, who are CORN processors, lead the charge for higher SUGAR subsidies. Corn processors? Sugar? Corn farmers and processors need higher sugar prices in order to force candy, soft drink, and other users of sweeteners to use expensive corn syrup, and the only way they can do this is if sugar costs more than sixteen cents a pound.

Get it? If domestic sugar costs more than sixteen cents a pound instead of the world price of seven cents a pound all the farmers and grain processors get to shove expensive corn syrup down the throats of all the soft drink and candy makers. As part of the subsidy no foreign sugar can be imported. This corn agribusiness interest is also behind the unnecessary corn created gasoline additive called ethanol. Ethanol costs us around two or three cents per gallon of gas. Corn subsidies are a part of the sugar deal. And it's deeper than that but you get where I could go here.
Note that the sugar FARMERS get zero of the subsidy, all go to the gadzillionaires who process it and the grain multi-nationals who process other stuff. Actually the Club for Growth piece is lightweight stuff, but that's what Reynolds thinks is good.

The future of blogging? One look is at the New York Times, you have to scroll down to the interactive link, courtesy of Kaus. The other innovation is the use of video by many bloggers now. I think that the rest of us better get hip or be prepared for very low readership. Since I actually have a real job I cannot spend the time necessary to keep up with the Jones's so I assume my near 45,000 readers per week will slump off for more entertaining web experiences.

Why we sit on our asses while Iran threatens: put briefly, there is nothing we can do. It seems pretty clear that a majority---or at least a large minority---of Iranian citizens want the current government out so a question becomes, do we risk killing more of our friends than our enemies?

What about Israel? What about them? It is clear that IF Iran tries something with them both Israel and the US will attack and wipe Iran out, whether it results in killing friends or not.

I think our foreign policy right now is to hope that Europe will ease off their anti Semitic stance and recognize that Iran will not stop with the destruction of Israel "Today Israel, tomorrow all of Europe," is the operative phrase here.

Reality: when Iran gets the bomb all of Islam will be emboldened. Every Arab state will see a powerful ally in any crazy enterprise including terror against the U.S. An increasingly Islamist Turkey is the wild card.

Iran is the elephant in the living room. Will they have the balls to attack is the question.

Energy: the projections for warmer weather hit the public info arena so oil prices are coming down. Remember, we are now trading the January contract so that is the price most often seen. The cash price is posted in WSJ and IBD every day.

Touring the TV news this AM, here's the latest Left spin on Iraq as reported by their crackerjack staff (left):
The elections are historic BUT
1. Nothing will be accomplished
2. Bush "claims" (fill in the blank)
3. All violence is reported even though there is more in Los Angeles today than in Iraq
4. The real work will begin now.
5. And constant questions like "will this election get our troops home from Iraq?," inserted in virtually every story. I think this means that the new Left wing focus is to be on "bring our boys home."

Inferences acquired from watching CNN and MSNBC are that these elections are something unpleasant to report (the looks on faces and the way stories are linked). It's too early to catch Couric because I go to work at 5:50AM. I'll let you guys figure it out. The Left wants to focus on anything other than success in Iraq.

Strategy Page has more good stuff than can be listed plus unfortunately, a picture of some Americans terrorizing an Iraqi family. What can I say? Kerry was only partly right?

Not much blogging from now til Christmas. I have a huge family and I'm spending a lot of time with them starting yesterday.

AS MEXICO TAKES OVER OUR SCHOOLS

Bush prowls the land talking about Iraq while Mexico takes over all schools with Mexican kids. Bush's pal, Vincente Fox, is sending in Mexican text books about Mexican History and distributing them where they will do he most harm to our country. I kid you not. Heather MacDonald has as good a piece on it as anyone while FOX, who broke the story, once again has nothing on their web site.

THE MONKEYS GO ON STRIKE

New York with an MTA strike.....I was there for the last one and it takes some imagination to realize how helpless people become. One of the reasons I am opposed to mass transit is that the unions get control of our lives and then just squeeze. One image from the last strike has always stuck in my mind. An hour into the strike, the TV News showed some transit union members and zoomed in on them. One of them held his thumb to his nose and while his fingers moved up and down in the age old playground gesture, said to all New York, "naa naa naa naa naa." It seemed like everybody in New York saw that gesture, knew the contempt the union had for the citizens, and knew there would be no bargaining with the room temperature IQ gang. What compounds things is that while the law is very tough regarding public transportation unions striking, the unions know that no politician will enforce them. Subway riders in New York will face ANOTHER steep rise in fares because people doing a job a monkey can do have them by the balls.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but ridicule will kill me....
A switch on an old saying to point out that there is a not a fine a line between satire and ridicule, there is a broad chasm. Satire emphasizes the difficiences of a target and laughs at it but ridicule attempts to get us to hold the target in total contempt, to eliminate it while causing us to laugh. The Gay Cowboy movie, Brokeback Mountain, is getting the ridicule treatment on the early AM radio here; the early shock jocks bashed to smithereens the "Gay Western" complete with lisping John Waynes, totally swishy Clint Eastwoods, gay beyond belief Wyatt Earps. There were no holds barred and they destroyed the movie to the glee of their day break audience. All the people at work had heard similar attacks and nobody in the office has any intention of going to the movie. The Hollywood elites, much like the elites of the circulation sagging daily newspapers, are separated from their audiences by an abyss they are afraid to examine. Perhaps both elites remember the words of Nietzsche, "... if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you," and are paralyzed.

If you think this will change, think again.

Last nite a liberal newspaperman on the O'Reilly show answered a query regarding the Left attempt to kill Christmas in spite of the fact that 94% of Americans identified themselves as Christian. The liberal calmly instructed his host that "It is our responsibility to stand for what is good no matter the cost. It is indisputable fact that the expression of religion, both through deed and trappings, has caused most of the wars and conflicts over the past 200 years. It is our duty to remove them." He stopped short of saying it was his duty to stamp out Christmas but his intent was plain. These people are sure they are right, just like the Communists of the 30's "knew" they were right and that they were on "the right side of history" in spite of the murders by every Communist leader on the planet. They really didn't see. Or refused to see. Again, from Nietzsche:

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

The Free Press White Flag Democrat style: those awful people over at Power Line lay it out there regarding the latest "prestegious" award given to a known liar on the Left.... And it's official: DNC is sliming Alito. The slime and the rebuttal is here...

Just a graphic to show you how careful you have to be downloading Firefox. My traffic didn't actually drop to the cellar as shown, but it disabled my Site Meter so I had no record, my Accessory Options so most sites were jumbled, and my mind. And made me crazy.

Everybody has an opinon about why the movie biz is slumping. I submit to you that movies are simply a worn out medium. Is there a movie any of you haven't seen? Twice. They say there are only five basic plots, and when they go from "boy meets girl" to "boy meets boy" you know just how tired the art form has become. When it costs $56 to take a family of four to a movie you know the audience has been priced out of the market.

Stick a fork in it, it's a mass medium no more. Wait for Hollywood's biggest star to move from Beverly Hills into the apartment below yours.

Two more Bugatti pix, that car that you can drive at 250 mph and feel like you're on a cloud....Go HERE if you missed my post.

Brokeback, the homo buttboy so-called western, is sure to boost the sagging Hollywood box office as a hundred and fifty million Blue State American homos flock to theatres to see it, at least that is what bizzaro Hollywood thinks. This is the cause du jour with the Left as the Golden Globes awards prove. This is Hollywood thumbing their noses at Red State America (all cowboys are fags, get it? Means John Wayne was a fag, means Tom Mix was a fag, etc.), this along with:
TransAmerica, starring Felicity Huffman - who appears in Desperate Housewives - as a man striving to become a woman through surgery and hormone treatment. That film too has drawn warm critical praise from almost every quarter.
Oh boy, can't wait.
The Dying Gaul, starring Peter Sarsgaard as a grief-stricken gay screenwriter seduced by Hollywood,
But wait there's more
Neil Jordan's Breakfast on Pluto, the tale of a young transvestite in Northern Ireland who becomes ensnared in Republican terrorism while pursuing his identity as a man living as a woman.
And in case you think that Cats was as gay as Broadway could get, there is the upcoming
Neil Jordan fruit fest called Breakfast on Pluto, the tale of a young transvestite in Northern Ireland who becomes ensnared in Republican terrorism while pursuing his identity as a man living as a woman.
Well, at least there's the NFL and the NBA, for a year or so. Except for King Kong, no movies for me this Christmas.

IRAQIS SINGING "TOWEL AND TENT" MUSIC AND THE COUNTRY IS DANCING

WINNING? IT CAN'T BE. CAN IT?

Note: this was posted twelve hours before the WSJ editorial by Norman Podhoretz which is HERE. He also reprints ALL of Chrenkoff's data.

Looking at torture.....no, that's wrong. Looking at the accusations of torture, which contain within them the demand from our Left that all torture cease at once.
Why the concern from the Left? The poor babies say they are concerned about our image in the world. In fact they write and talk about torture because we are in danger of winning in Iraq and the main obstacle to the victory is getting sufficient information from captured terrorists so we can pre-empt their assaults; for every pre-emption completed we are anther step toward victory.

Victory in Iraq is a disaster for the Left.

America is Evil

My premise presumes that the Left is continually attempting to weaken America from both within and without The articulated attitudes of the Left is that America is evil and must be stopped at all costs. This is to be done by weakening America both from within our borders and from outside. Their tactics include a focus on everything bad, to construct everything positive as actually bad, and use all media; Hollywood, Press, and TV. They control that media and so all media attack our country. Their attacks are very good because the professional journalist class is in charge. We are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of bad news every day. Many of us believe we are losing.

Blogger, Arthur Chrenkoff (no longer blogging), posting back in January listed the number of good reports on Iraq vs the negative ones. You can go to his site and count, but the negatives are 5,000 plus stories and the positive news comprises barely 400. That's more than 10 to 1. Day after day, week after week, month after month, all we hear is the negative.

Iraq is about to have an election which will result in a brand new Democratic country being born in the middle of dictatorships, asset sucking monarchies, and oligarchies that limit opportunity and suck countries dry. The Left will do all it can to bury this huge story on page 16; make sure that success is reduced to little blurbs at the end of the 6 o'clock news; and they will easily keep Hollywood from saying anything positive about creating the first Arab democracy in history.

That's the first democratic Arab country in history. That should be pretty important. But if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it and tell everyone about it, did it really fall?

My sense of all this is that the media Left is beginning to suspect that the bad ol' USA is about to pull off a huge success. They will do all they can to minimize it by burying it under a pile of bad news, shed crocodile tears, and pretend to look sad every time one of our soldiers is killed. Inside they will be glad of each and every death because it is one more negative to put on the front page.

The really crazy news about all this? They think defeat will win an election. They think that their phony tears and bogus sad demeanors will fool the rest of us and we will put them in power.

So let's see.

Very Late PM add: while the voting has started in Iraq the MSM is ignoring it. Featured stories include the rioting in Aussieville, the plight of the x-crip murderer, Iraq "militants" decry change.....

Looking for a stock to either short or sell? It's Yahoo. The current time is 5:45 PM EST and they don't have a single final score for an NFL game (half of them have been played by 4PM and partial scores begin at 2:00PM.) I've said here a couple of times that Yahoo stock cannot hold up to their inadequacies.....

Add at Midnight: still no scores.

TITS AND CARS

Make no mistake, 200mph is at the limit of what man can do right now. Which is why the new Bugatti Veyron is worthy of some industrial strength genuflection. Because it can do 252mph.

"What's with this car shit? I wanna see some tits."

OK, but I'm from SoCal and here it's always tits AND cars; it's been this way since the hot rod days of the 40s. With this in mind here is a car WITH tits.... It's the new $1.2 million 252 mph Bugatti from VW. It has 1004 horse power, a top speed of 250 mph, and it cost the CEO of VW his job.

And NOW

Here's some tits

And Here's some ass. It's the Bugatti classic from the late 30's

And for a detailed review of what it's like to drive the new Bugatti, go here.

BABES WHO ARE CRIMINALS

Wahoo! Scandal. Gorgeous drunken playboy babes (upper), AND apparently good looking TV stars (lower) get arrested. Charges so far DUI for the TV stars and a possible Federal Felony for the Playboy babes. BUT when you catch the mug shots of the TV actresses at Smoking Gun and compare them with the pictures above, you will see what makeup and good lighting will do. We're talking pigs here folks; at Smoking Gun

BUT WAIT, there's more. The smiling babes below (together with 12 others) were arrested for (taa daa) prostitution at some "gentlemens clubs." Can you believe that those pix below are actually their mug shots? From the smiles on their faces one could bet that they got bailed real quick. Fourteen of them at Smoking Gun which is featuring Babes who are Criminals today.

I read a few posts that I don't link to because they don't fill my criteria for total filth, complete disregard for all good taste, or they are actually literate. One such high class spot is called Joanne Jacobs, who is a school teacher, no less. But not just one of "them." She started a Charter School for degenerate punks and has done so well that most of these criminal pieces of shit are ending up in college. She has also written a book about how she changed things so others could copy her. Run over there and take a look.

A really good new link is here. Called Truth on Iraq, it lays out all the construction work being done as well as those projects being completed. I haven't seen this info anywhere. I have it listed in my links as ALL CONSTRUCTION REPORTS. Site is new and the guy wants input. Link above is to a report on a cable being laid.

Christmas!!! We Won

Target has Christmas decorations and they are labeled Christmas. I understand that Sears caved too.

Next year let's go for a Nativity Scene in every crack house....

DID I SAY "THANKS," FIREFOX? Below is my traffic evaporation disaster till I fixed it. I still had the visitors but the record of the visits had dried up. The "new" Firefox works very well once installed correctly. I'd only caution those of you with commerical websites that both Site Meter and your contrast must be checked afterwards if you have problems...

THE VIEW FROM THE CHEAP SEATS

Today I have a sense, based on nothing concrete, that a lot of the press abuse against Conservatives has calmed down. I say this because yesterday I lunched with some people of the show biz stripe, all liberal White Flag Democrats right down to their Bentleys and Ferraris, and several of them commented that they had read Michael Yon and had gone from there to some soldier's blogs more than once. These are people who read only the New York Times, Architectural Digest, and Nation (along with the show biz bird cage liners) so even mentioning other media is strange territory for them. Maybe it's because Spielberg's movie "that will change the world" is a piece of self indulgent shit and is being ravaged by their media pals; maybe it's because the Christian Right's favorite movie, Narnia, looks like a monster hit, as does the spectacular pablum fest, King What's His Name; or maybe they are beginning to think that MSM might not be telling the truth all the time.

I know that Time Mag has turned Left and is doing the PC shuffle, but this crowd knows it as well and the hypocritical shift of Time has made a few of them wonder. Make no mistake, these are White Flag Democrats, but the remarks at lunch lacked the usual obvious venom. The talk actually touched, if only for a minute or two, on biased news coverage; lots mentioned the local media blackout of the two day riot at the new high school downtown (Oraculations link is HERE, and the NBC link is HERE.

I don't think for a nano second that they don't hate Bush and love every word that Howard Dean regurgitates, it's just that there is a peep hole in their wall and some are actually looking through it.

LGF thinks the Democrats are cutting loose their crazies, I don't. I think they will be overjoyed to see Lieberman vanish leaving the crazies with an ever increasing majority. Too many in the party are openly anti-semitic, anti-Israel, and just want to cut and run. The openly racist Black Caucus is socialist, anti-white, anti semitic, and many stand for open revolution. They are taking over. The facts of the war are these, expressed today by Hanson:
And despite the heartbreak of 2,100 deaths, we are not just winning in Iraq, but on the verge of something far larger, and more permanent: not a return to the ancient caliphate or another dictatorship, but the real chance for the birth of a new Middle East that takes its place at last among responsible nations.
I have never felt that this would be possible, but reading the blogs from Iraq I am getting the sense that not only is it possible, but probable. Check out the amazing pictures of an election campaign from Iraq the model, HERE.

Energy today: crude dropped for three reasons, but when you have a big move like this you know one of the three was a surprise that caught everyone long. The surprise was that inventories were up 10% over last year at this time, this after ten days of brutally low temps. OPEC is making noises that they will keep pumping, which was no surprise, and as I said yesterday the long term forecasts are for warmer temps.

THE WHITE FLAG DEMOCRATS

Catching on: the Left hooligans of the 60s were tagged the Red Diaper babies, so called because most of their parents or grandparents were communists during the 30's.

Now many on the Right are calling the current crop, White Flag Democrats,so called because their parents dodged service in Viet Nam and it was their "generation" that cut and ran from there. White Flag Democrats? It sure works for me.

STALIN lives at the LAT as "our" news(?)" paper blacks out a major local story. In this case it was even carried by a local TV channel (a first for this fascist news control). We had a major riot at a newly opened high school yesterday. Thirty arrests and lots of injuries. No one will admit that race was involved, but what else do kids fight over these days, favorite movies? Under the banner headline: Two Days Of Fighting Prompts Response At New High School, NBC Channel 4, filed the following story
LOS ANGELES -- A heavy police presence was planned Friday at recently opened South Area High School No. 1 after two days of fighting that resulted in 34 arrests, authorities said.

Eighteen students were arrested Thursday after two groups of students faced off and yelled challenges at each other.

On Wednesday, 16 students were arrested and 10 hospitalized after school police pepper sprayed them following a brawl that began with a fight between two girls during the lunch break, Monica Carazo of the Los Angeles Unified School District said.
"What I saw mostly was students that -- from comments I'm getting -- want to riot until the end of the semester," Principal Vince Carbino said. He said some students consider fights as a way to have school end early.

"On (Thursday), we dismissed at our normal time and as students were leaving the school, I was at the stairs and what they were telling me was, 'Oh man, we had to stay till the end,'" Carbino said. Another of the school's problems is that students disobey teachers who tell them to go to class, Carbino told parents at a Thursday night meeting that had originally been called to discuss names for the school. Instead, the meeting became a forum on how to try to stop the violence.

School officials have denied that race is an issue at the school south of downtown, which opened this year. It was opened, in part, to deal with the overcrowding at Jefferson High School, where a series of fights occurred earlier this year<
Two days of rioting is not worthy of notice in the always PC LA Times.

Censorship? I'll show you censorship! Brothers Judd has a piece up about a rally in Bangladesh by MUSLIMS against terror bombings organized by MUSLIM clerics. Not one word in our MSM anywhere. BBC reported it.

QUESTION

If-

.....big boobed women work at Hooters,
Where do one legged women work?

Debbie Schussel just loves the new whore movie, Memoirs of a Geisha. She claims it is an insult to pimps everywhere and seems just crazy; but it is being hyped in every woman's mag, Oprah, Vogue, and of course all the usual suspects. I'd go if I thought it might be erotic, but it sounds just boring.

And Schultz
is in rare form today, and I mean rare. Start with this one and be sure you hit this one..... Then be sure you follow the link to SCCI. This Plame thing is getting very very weird, and there is no doubt that people in the CIA should be charged with treason.

ENERGY

Late add based on overnight trading: There is no question that the market has turned back up based on the charts. But if the charts were always right we'd have no markets......
Energy today: Why did the market go up even though supplies were up everywhere? Because we are trading a weather market and not a supply demand market right now. Even though the near term (two to three week) weather forecast is for much warmer weather, the past ten days have been vicious and you cannot make up for the heating oil and natural gas that was used. The trading will be day to day depending on tomorrow's forecast each day. Supply demand won't come into the equation til February or March. I have traded hundreds of weather markets, they are always volatile, and you never stay in overnight naked.

Here's a civilian reaction when Reggie Bush gets too close.....

And HERE is a site I just discovered via Schultz. Called "Seixon," the guy is not only good but he keeps digging til he finds the gold. Be sure you check it out this weekend.

MICHAEL YON, has a very long piece up. In case you can't read all of it, the ending bears publication:
More than 150,000 troops are at war in Iraq, Afghanistan and stationed other places by land and sea. It's time to remember them, and at least send a letter. Care packages are great, but simple letters can be powerful. The Department of Defense has sorted through endless websites and charities, and does an excellent job organizing links to sites that allow people to help the troops. With a single click, people can donate books to troops, or computers, or frequent flier miles, or they can help wounded veterans or grieving families, or Iraqi children. There are so many options.
You can go to http://www.americasupportsyou.mil/ and get all the info you want. Letters to soldiers are best.

Great News from Iraq via Iraq the Model: The results of a public opinion poll conducted in Babil province showed some interesting findings; the poll conducted by al-Mada research institute interviewed 460 men and women in a random sample technique from both the urban and rural parts of the province. When asked if they were going to vote or not, 96.7% answered with “yes” while in only 3.3% of the cases the answer came as “no”.

I so hope this fucks those scumbag traitorous Democrats. (their executive session pictured) But not to worry, they can still leak info to the "terrorists" if things get too good over there. God, I just can't help it. I actually do hate those pricks.

Thanx Firefox: in addition to my other problems, now solved, I find that my traffic has dropped from 5,000+ per day to zero IN A SINGLE DAY:

Average Per Day 1,265
Average Visit Length 0:24
Last Hour 0
Today 0
This Week 8,855 down from over 40,000

What I found out is that Firefox MAY disable the site counter. It did with me. Late add just two hours later:

Average Per Day 1,751

Last Hour 508
Today 1,236
This Week 12,259

What a relief.

ANOTHER TOP TERRORIST NABBED

25 CIA Agents
nab terror suspect (left) 150 miles from White House. "Alert surveillance work at two local mosques has paid off," said an unidentified CIA official. "We nabbed her with two suspicious blue packages (clearly visible in photo) and she was headed straight toward the White House." Oraculations is checking to see if she is being tortured in another country......

THE GRIFTERS, NEW ORLEANS STYLE

The Katrina hearings: am I the only one who thinks the "victims" are running just another Tawana Brawley scam? Give me a break. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the "witnesses" didn't even live in New Orleans. The people bitching have had their brain warranties expire and spit their fantasies to their breathless "victim group." The worst thing about such obviously contrived "testimony" from the dim witted is that the great unwashed who pay the taxes will think everyone in New Orleans are grifters.

Kids: don't do this at home:
In an unusual case of mistaken identity, a woman who thought a block of white cheese was cocaine is charged with trying to hire a hit man to rob and kill four men. The woman also was mistaken about the hit man. He turned out to be an undercover police officer.
The rest of this shocking story is at Socialite's Life and is worth reading. A snap quiz will be given at work.

A GREAT COMIC ACTOR IS ABUSED, AGAIN

Of Stepen Fetchit and Willie Best....

You may
have read the piece in Slate about Stepen Fetchit, and I'll bet all the money I have that the writer of the piece has never seen a single one of Fetchit's movies. The piece uses the politically correct 2005 racial morality of the day to condemn Fetchit for earning a living playing a dopey butler or servant during the depths of the Great Depression.

Fetchit (Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry) was hysterically funny, like so funny you couldn't believe it. Sometimes, rarely, TCM will screen one of the movies in which he appeared (he plied his trade in around 35 movies and wrote the music for another), and if you ever get a chance to watch one of his older movies, do it. He was tall and lanky and initially had a shaved head, a whiney, slow-talking voice and a sad looking, perplexed demeanor. It was this early character, one which started his career in movies, that has caused the derision that is heaped upon him today.

Several of today's Black stars get away with doing a dead on impersonation of Fetchit (or is it Willie Best they are imitating?) but since nobody has ever seen any of either man's work, they get away with it. Whenever you see Marlon Wynans do the "whiny, slow-talking" character, he is playing Stepen Fetchet to a tee.

Fetchit stopped doing the original character sometime in the mid thirties, a partial list would include: "In Old Kentucky" (1927) as Highpockets, his film debut; "The Devil's Skipper" (1928) as Slave's Husband; "The Tragedy of Youth" (1928) as Porter; "The Ghost Talks" (1929) as Christopher Lee; "Thru Different Eyes" (1929) as Janitor; "Show Boat" (1929) as Joe; "Hearts in Dixie" as Gummy; "The Big Fight" (1930) as Spot; "Wild Horse" (1931) as Stepin; "The Prodigal" (1931) as Hokey; "Stand Up and Cheer" (1934) as George Bernard Shaw; "The World Moves On" (1934) as Dixie; "Marie Galante" (1934) as Bartender; "Judge Priest" (1934) as Jeff Poindexter; "Carolina" (1934) with Janet Gaynor and Robert Young, as Scipio; "Bachelor of Arts" (1934) as Dulga; "One More Spring" (1935) as Zoo Attendant; "Charlie Chan in Egypt" (1935) as Snowshoes; "Steamboat 'Round the Bend" (1935) as Jonah; "Helldorado" (1935) with Richard Arlen and Ralph Bellamy, as Ulysses; "The County Chairman" (1935) as Sass/Sassafrass; "Dimples" (1936) with Shirley Temple, uncredited as Cicero; "36 Hours to Kill" (1936) as Flash; "On the Avenue" (1937) as Herman 'Step'; "Fifty Races to Town" (1937) as Percy; "His Exciting Night" (1938) as Casper; "Zenobia" (1939) with Oliver Hardy and Harry Langdon, as Zero; "Miracle in Harlem" (1948) as Swifty, the Handyman; "Bend of the River" (1952) with James Stewart, as Adam; "The Sun Shines Bright" (1953) as Jeff Poindexter; "Cutter" (1972) as Shoeshine Man; "Amazing Grace" (1974) as Cousin Lincoln; "Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood" (1976) as Dancing Butler. And that is just a partial list. See the very early talkies to get how funny he was.

Stepen Fetchet was a great artist, a hell of a lot better than the ignorant PC sycophants like Spike Lee that heap abuse upon him now. As an aside here, Fetchit was so good he spawned imitations, the absolute best being Willie Best, who was the guy who said the great line, "Feet don't fail me now," in a Harold Lloyd movie called, Feet First. It's on TCM once in a while and, again, that character is hysterical. That line became a jazz music monster sometimes called "Feets Don't Fail Me Now;" latest version by Bonnie Rait. Willie was in 127 movies, and even though the genius, Spike Lee, thinks he's an Uncle Tom, Best was great in every one of 127.

NICE GOING ALAN

2PM Add: I may have been suckered on this piece, but I'm leaving it up. It was written by Alex Veiga, one of those commie shit for brains at the AP, and Biz Week carried it. Looking him up, I find that he usually writes about pop music. The root source is from a guy named Ryan Ratcliff, and his housing numbers are carried by nearly everyone. He works for the UCLA Anderson Forecast, which is a very well thought of research group and is usually correct about SoCal business forecasting.

Biz Week: Housing slowdown may claim 800,000 jobs
A sustained decline will hit the U.S. housing market next year, costing the nation as many as 800,000 jobs, according to a new economic report released Wednesday.

The slowdown is likely to last several years, with as many as 500,000 construction jobs and 300,000 financial sector positions lost,
This will be recession number four for Greenspan. His "solutions" always hit the same sector: housing and the almost million blue collar jobs. Let's hope the new Chairman, Berneke, will recognize it and stop the insanity.

POLITICAL LANDSCAPE

The Democratic View of America: Nothing is possible in a country like this...

Republican view of America: Everything is possible if you don't look down.....

Painting by Jerry York

More blonde blue eyed terrorists: Daniel Pipes follows up yesterday's post HERE An obvious menace to society, pictured left, just prior to her arrest. She is now being detained in an undisclosed location by the CIA.

The real reason the people think the economy stinks? Most of the so-called "new jobs" have gone to illegal immigrants. In updating my links I happened to run across this old VDare piece by Steve Sailer with a ton of links to facts (you remember them, don't you) to back up what he is saying, which is that the Bush brain trust is corrupt, both in ideas, perceptions of public opinion, and in sleeping with the enemy (Vincente Fox). And
The Washington press corps wants cheaper nannies, pool guys, and busboys. And if the laws of the land have to be spit upon and the American working class pauperized to get them, well, that's a sacrifice the media class is willing to make.
Lots of things to think about anyway.

Have I told you that I think Steve Sailer over at iSteve has one of the best blogs going? I have? Well I'm telling you again.

Blackfive is well worth reading today. There is an interesting auction of battle paraphanalia from F Company, 159th Aviation Regiment to raise money for a Coming Home from Afghanistan Party. And there is this regarding torture:
I guess we will have to rewrite all the CIA guidelines stopping them from unfairly attempting to conduct covert operations covertly.
Good today.

There's a huge quasi sports stink revolving around Mets pitcher Kris Benson and his supposedly hot wife, Anna. I won't get into the whole thing but Anna is claiming that the Mets want to trade her husband because she "might" pose naked for Playboy. Focusing just on her, which seems to be what she is really after, go HERE to her narcisstic web site and see if you think she is more than a seven plus. I think poor Kris picked himself a media slut for a wife. Details at (where else?) Bad Jocks. And who would pay money to see Anna naked or clothed? I've seen better looking women waiting in line outside of a crack house.

THE PARTY OF PARASITES IS ANGRY

Re; Dean's rant regarding the war in Iraq. He is not irresponsible. His views are those of the vast majority of people who are the Democratic party and most are clients of the Welfare State. Cut and run is exactly where "heart" of the party is at. Period. Living on government handouts makes the recipient always needy, always standing in line for more. Thinking is not part of the process. Iraq? To hell with Iraq, what about my government check? Nobody wants to think about Iraq when the government money is all they have. They want mommy and daddy to stop paying attention to Iraq and start taking care of them.

They don't care. The guts of the Party are clients of the government, they are either employed directly (all teachers on every level, all government workers including spies) or they are receiving aid of some kind (everyone on SS or Medicare) and they view anything other than handouts to their particular client group as being stolen from it. That is the source of their fury. Every dime that goes to the military should be going to them. Every dime in tax cuts ditto. It follows that they hate the criminals who are stealing their money. Hate is the operative word here.

Politicians who articulate anger, rage, and hate are the only ones who can appeal to the bitter parasitic proles, telling them over and over again that "they" will join together to destroy the Republican thieves, crooks, and murderers of helpless civilians in Iraq, and thereby return their hard earned money to them.

That's Dean and that is the Democratic Party. You cannot reason with it. Malkin has a round up of links on the subject but I think all of them miss it.

PAMELA ANDERSON CAN NOW BE BODY SEARCHED AT AIRPORTS

Get ready for the blonde blue eyed terrorist. Daniel Pipes reports on the huge number of converts to Islam who become terrorists. Try these names of just Americans:
United States: Ryan Anderson, life for trying to aid Al Qaeda while serving as a National Guardsman. David Belfield, assassinated a former Iranian diplomat outside Washington and fled to Iran. Clement Rodney Hampton-el, 35 years for helping bomb the World Trade Center in 1993. Mark Fidel Kools, death sentence for "fragging" and killing two of his army officers. John Muhammad, death sentence for his role as the lead "Beltway Sniper." Randall Royer, twenty years for weapons and explosives charges "stemming from the investigation into a militant jihadist network in Northern Virginia." Five members of Jamaat ul Fuqra, a Pakistan-based group suspected of at least thirteen murders in America, jailed for up to 69 years.

Lorenzo Vidino reports in Al Qaeda in Europe (Prometheus) that the authorities find that "dozens of European converts have joined terrorist groups." Nor is the problem restricted to Western converts to Islam.
Pretty scary piece.

New York Times insiders are bailing out big time.....Go here to MSN Money. There is stuff all over indicating that "Pinch," the guy who hasn't worked a day in life but was given the paper by daddy, is on the way out. Check the gossip columns. Most of the sellers barely got their investments back and the stock keeps sinking.

Hitchins has the correct take on the purchase of Iraqi reporters. This actually could be worse than any of us realized. Take a peek at Slate, if you haven't already. The only thing I'd add is that not planting our own stories means that the NYT, LAT, and the rest of the anti-American pricks in the MSM will plant stories.

OSM AKA "Where's My Pajamas" has solved its problem. Have 85 people write about the same thing each day. Today's topic is "should the UN take over the internet." Oh, golly. I don't know if I'll ever make my mind up about that one. I'll have to read pieces by a hundred more experts to figure that one out. And twenty more people writing about coffee (see below). Tell me this is what great minds come up with and Iraq, the true meaning of life, and even "why am I here,?" will all be answered. Not answered correctly, mind you...

Libertas really takes some movie hypes apart today. Sample
MY SUMMER OF LOVE
Focus Features BAFTA
BAFTA'?s British film of 2004, this bittersweet sun-dappled wonder failed to resonate with U.S. audiences, but it was their loss. Newcomers Nathalie Press and Emily Blunt, award winners in the U.K., deliver outstanding perfs as, respectively, Mona, a working-class lass, and Tamsen, a snotty rich girl on summer vacation. While Mona's brother (a memorable supporting turn by Paddy Considine) faces his own bogus religious rebirth, Mona learns the painful truths of trumped-up adolescent passion.

I have nothing particular to say about this film, other than to note the phrase "bogus religious rebirth,? which is apparently the only kind of religious rebirth the indy film world finds possible.

Here'?s another description of an Oscar hopeful that caught my eye:

Rejected by the Academy's foreign-lingo branch as Austria's submission (the film is in French), Michael Haneke's latest menacing masterpiece about a bourgeois French family haunted by surveillance tapes and a repressed colonialist past, is hoping for recognition in other categories. The film stunned audiences at its Cannes 2005 premiere, where Haneke won the director prize.

Repressed bourgeois French colonialists?

Note the words "?bourgeois"? and "?repressed colonialist past."? Again, I'?m just going by the descriptions in Variety, but this and many other examples make it apparent that all filmmakers have to do to win critical plaudits nowadays is recycle tired Marxist cliches.
He continues with a ton of observations. Go there at least twice a week, well worth your time.

Do it, Rudy

FIREFOX NOTE: For some reason the new version sometimes goes into the operating system and changes Accessibility Options. If you are using the new Firefox 1.5 and your colors are trashed, go into Settings, Control Panel, Accessibility Options, then click on Display and uncheck the "high contrast." Like magic.

Another bogus headline: UN: More than 3m HIV infections in 2005 in Africa. Ask yourself this: how does a primitive culture test for AIDS? If it is so widespread for so long how come everybody is still alive? Do you know what constitutes HIV positive to the UN asshohles? The AIDS (read homosexual) lobby will not stop the propaganda until they get all the money they possibly can, never mind the truth (remember the one about heterosexual AIDS?). The testing being done classifies almost every disease in Africa as an HIV disease. Tom Bethell, among a very few others, wrote a piece several years ago titled: INVENTING AN EPIDEMIC in which he stated:
The author of The Myth of Heterosexual AIDS, (Michael) Fumento told me that he found the recent reports of HIV infection rates of 25 percent in some African countries to be not believable. The alarmist predictions about the progress of AIDS in this country have not been borne out, he said. African AIDS is an attempt to find the bad news elsewhere. Here (in the USA), AIDS has not spread into the general population, and never will. It has remained confined to the major "risk groups," mainly intravenous drug users and fast-lane homosexuals. But in Africa, more women than men are said to be infected with the virus. Prof. Geshekter (Charles Geshekter, a professor of African history at California State University at Chico). He has made 15 trips to Africa and has written widely about AIDS in that continent., too, sees African AIDS as a prolongation of the gravy train for public health experts. "AIDS is dwindling away in this country (The USA)," he told me. The numbers are down. What are the AIDS educators to do? Africa beckons."
Bethel's old piece is HERE. Michael Fumento's piece is HERE one that the Left got so angry about that they always call Fumento a Right Wing reporter.

BTW, Fumento has a great piece on the phony charge now making the rounds about "white phosphorus," his NRO piece is HERE, and well worth reading if you're feeling guilty. Do a Google to find other excellent pieces by him.

Iran only months away from a bomb---headline. Eeeeeekkk.
Well, a simple uranium 235 bomb, like the one we dropped on Hiroshima, is very easy for a country like Iran to have. If they can enrich uranium, meaning sifting through the stuff as it comes from the ground over and over and over again until you have 90% U 235 and 10% dirt, it's easy to set off. All you need is two 100 pound clumps of it, slam the two clumps together, and boom. It took us almost two years of "enriching" uranium in order to get enough to make just ONE of that kind of a bomb. I think they might explode one like this in order to scare the shit out of everybody. But the real bad boy is the plutonium bomb, and to make one of these babies and get it to explode is really difficult. We know they have the technology to make the plutonium but do they have the technology to make a bomb? Two bombs?

I'm not too excited until I know they can make a bad boy.

Hollywood Ego Maniac of the month day: "SPIELBERG HOPES MOVIE CAN BREAK MID-EAST STALEMATE" --- Right, everybody will go to a movie and a thousand years of hate will just vanish. Can you believe that somebody who makes movies and gets rich can get such a high opinion of himself? Hey Steven! You told us all how to vote and we wouldn't listen. Remember?

USC vs UCLA: There are times when things like boxing and football become art. I watched USC destroy UCLA yesterday and didn't leave til the score was in the low 50s. That USC offence is art. Can't wait til Texas.

And speaking of football, Aggieland has a layout called "How to Dress for a Football Game." Most of the babes are from FSU and Oklahoma, but this layout could be a trend. Let's all hope so. Babes below go to OU. And I can say without fear of contradiction that the babes at K-State U really know how to dress.

A quick note regarding the plummeting popularity rating of Hillary Clinton. I don't think these ratings mean a dam. I think that it's more likely that We the Dopes are pretty pissed off at what all current leadership is doing and not doing. If Mother Teresa was running against Jesus Christ both of them would be in the low thirties too.

The "new" Firefox looted my entire blog so this is a new face. I'll have updated links by Monday, I hope. Meanwhile I'm off to the USC vs UCLA football game....USC but not by the 21 Vegas is laying. Close game.

THE "@" GENERATION STRIKES

Glenn Reynolds has the longest and most boring analysis of press decline, Craigs List, and the organization of tree media you may ever see, and he takes 5,000 words to miss the obvious. The much sought after young males between 16 and 25 have been joined by the "easy lay" girls between 14 and 21 who are using what can best be called "social web sites" as their method of communication. There are simply a thousand, and counting, local area web sites aimed at young people who "meet" over an interest about a rock band, a media hustler, or various other subjects of interest to them. They then actually "follow up" and meet with like minded young people at a coffee shop, club, or concert and continue the socialization.

This means that the dire predictions of a generation isolated from talking with each other is breeding the exact opposite, a generation that meets each other over the web and then in person to "talk." The dominant media is labeling the new generation "The @ Generation" a discription that might fit. There is advertising at the sites for products that interest teens (latest CDs, video games, sports, NY Jets etc.), but not other things. Yet.

I don't want to link you to a website so you can cruise hot high school babes but here is the dominant national site (MySpace) with 40 million members --- forty million is correct --- and it is growing. You will of course observe that there is no "news" there, but the need for certain kinds of information is provided by the teens and young adults themselves and not by MSM. A pretty long essay, but accurate according to my experience with kids, is HERE. Does this spell finito to advertising driven media? You decide.

From emailer JF

A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and order the "Chicken Surprise". The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot.

Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back
down.

"Good grief, did you see that?" she asks her husband.

He hasn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down.

Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening, and demands an explanation.

"Please sir," says the waiter, "what you order?"

The husband replies, "Chicken Surprise."

"Ah...mistake, so sorry," says the waiter,

"I bring you Peeking Duck".

Planted stories in Iraqi press: Jesus Christ what are we supposed to do? Allow those liars in the U.S. press to plant stories in Iraqi newspapers and TV? The enemy IS the U.S. MEDIA, without them the insurgents would be 50% of what they are now.

I'm still having monster trouble with the new Firefox because nobody can get the old one back. Download it at your peril, unless you backup the entire old system. Is the "new one" worth having? Absolutely not. Nothing old is compatible with it. Wait til at least January 1st. One response to a ton of complaints on the Mozillazine: Stop complaining, it's worth what you paid for it. Just awful. There was an analysis of what Mozilla is doing on one of the business sites yesterday that stated:
Firefox cannot get more than ten percent of the market because people just don't want it and the new version is an attempt to broaden market share.
Mozilla will lose market share with this turkey. They have put something out there that doesn't work with any of their old "themes." This must be the time of year for businesses to make their incompetence known: MSFT with X Box, retailers by killing Christmas sending people to intenet shopping, Ford and GM failing to deal with their problems, Sony encoding their CDs, and Firefox 1.5.

The phony OSM continues today touting an original Claudia Rosett piece which is just a rewrite of her WSJ piece of LAST WEEK. While there is no way I'd expect a major essayist like her to write for nothing, I would expect someome over at OSMto insist on a fresh piece, and I question Rosett's contract. If it doesn't require original writing, then all is OK. If it does then Rosett has ripped them off. I'm betting that OSM has a fake agreement with her so she just "updates" other essays and lets OSM have them. You read, you decide.

THE CRB INDEX (above) IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED AN INFLATION INDEX---and as you can see it is coming down. However about four years ago or less anything over 212 was considered dangerous. Now at 312 don't for a second think that we don't have inflation.

FIREFOX WARNING
The new FIREFOX has destroyed me. NOT COMPATABLE WITH BLOGGER. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT, AND YOU CANNOT TALK TO THOSE ASSHOLES TO GET THE OLD VERSION BACK. Don't download because it wipes out your themes, it will not subsitute colors, and you cannot recover and go back to the old one.. No Blogging til I can fix this thing, and from the Mozillazine, nobody can fix it and nobody can get the old version back. AND THE HELP IS VIRTUALLY UNUSEABLE because they "improved" that too. An unmitigated disaster....FOR YOU
