Thinking of buying any Apple products? Better check with Rodger Schultz. Apple has always been a problem for everyone AFTER they buy their products. Watch out people.

Medienkritik links to this really great article from the Telegraph in London. Looks like Der Spiegel and a few Brits are beginning to get it. Many have commented that Europe has never recovered from The Great War. They see no future for themselves. A falling birth rate shows they can't even fuck anymore.

Chart watching on the dollar. Last Friday I warned about the close at the low end of the range being dangerous. This AM the dollar is down hard. Go here for the chart.

Much ado about something not nearly as important as the MSM would have us believe. Both Britain and Bush are accused by our MSMs of getting rid of habeas corpus (the right to a quick filing of charges after arrest and counsel and setting a bail so a person can't be held indefinitely) because both countries have decided to act against terrorists. The MSM is lying (what else is new?) and both the Brits and us have decided to do this:
....a person, any person, can be declared an enemy combatant or a terrorist on the mere order of the executive and detained. However, the executive must then immediately satisfy an independent decisionmaker that the order was given on the basis of satisfactory evidence. Both nations have decided, again each in its own way, that the normal criminal system is not the right forum for such detentions and hearings, for largely the same reason.
A very long essay is at New Sisyphus. It is really really long. Kim du Toit has a really really long response too. A key part is that current Islam is an ideology and not a religion----ain't gunna fly.

Kate Blanchette? Give me a fucking break. Chris Rock? Jesus, he couldn't do that shit in the Comedy Store at 1AM and get away with it. I turned it off after the Bush bashing to the usual applause of those Left Wing millionaire shitheads. I caught the last few Eastwood awards. Glad Swank won. She has a great bio and is a terrific actress. Only thing of real interest is whether Million Dollar Baby's grosses will increase as a result of this impressive sweep. And while I'm a total fan of Martin what's his name, Aviator was a boring movie about a rich prick who would have been nothing had he not inherited a ton of money.
BTW Ratings were strictly Blue State, not a big surprise. Very high in the big cities. Dismal in the Red States.

Free Iraqi thinks Saddr is back and dangerous as hell. Read his post.

Chief Wiggles is back from the war with a great take.
The fashion comments about Condi Rice from the Left ain't sexist, are they? Not from the Left. Best response to the total crapola is HERE

Tim Russert's MTP this AM saw a 180 by Lefty Maureen Dowd as she followed the leads of both Safire and Friedman in agreeing that the Democrats cannot afford to be on the "wrong side" of freedom in the Middle East. Maureen Dowd is the bird bath of Democratic "thought"----as compared to the deep cess pools of Academia and Move on dot org---but she smells the roses. By the end of the month look for all the Lefties to line up and completely remove this issue from the 2008 election. Watch.

You wanna see hawks? I'll show you fuckin' hawks
Howard Dean speaking to the Right to Life conference in Bethlehem (PA).

Only because there is a "contest" wherein you have to post winners, here's my Oscar bets:
Best Movie: Million Dollar Baby
Best Actress: Hillary Swank
Best Supporting Actor: Morgan Freeman, if for no other reason than they owe him one.
Best Actor: Clint Eastwood
Best Director: Clint Eastwood

I haven't seen enough of the movies to pick writers. God should win it for best screenplay but He ain't nominated for nothin'. As far as Johnny Depp, DiCaprio (Aviator was a really boring movie), Benning, and others? Nobody likes the movies but I give DiCaprio an outside chance as Best Actor.

Pope John using steroids? Leaves hospital 15 pounds heavier and has acne.....developing

ORDER: YOU HAVE TO GO HERE
This is the deal, a couple of years ago the publisher of the above website----could soon be known as the late publisher----was invited to a black high school prom to shoot pictures. You ain't gunna believe what you will see. Bad dudes and ho's looking their best..... Then be sure you click a few "nexts" because this kid is really really funny. He has exclusive pictures of a totally real Japanese Penis festival RIGHT HERE. This may catch on in some Gay Parades around the country. Impossible to imagine; you just have to go there.

OSCAR TRIVIA: Lefty Frank Rich of the NYT has an interesting piece today stating that indecency is the way to higher ratings on TV. He makes some dam good points.
....."indecency" is gaining in popularity in direct proportion to Washington's campaign to shut indecency down.
He mentions that the clean clean Golden Globes lost 40% of its audience to the malodorous vaginal secretions of Desperate Housewives, and makes another point about Super Bowl ratings---that are off the mark because the teams were East Coast---but the piece is interesting.

Robin Williams skit cut
by ABC and believe me they did the Academy a monster favor. A skit attacking almost everything while endorsing anything after those same scumbags ignored Passion would have cost ratings big time. Hilarious lines like:
"The Road Runner's hooked on speed" and "Pocahontas is addicted to craps."
I'm rolling in the aisles. ABC cut it because Indians might be offended----it gets better---and if the Road Runner shoots speed everyone will. But there was a direct attack on Dobson that would have cost them plenty. The tone was to have Williams imitate a Baptist preacher and sermonize over a gospel-music groove, as if he were a full-throated preacher inveighing against other newly-discovered sinners in the nation's midst:
Pinocchio's had his nose done! Sleeping Beauty is popping pills!/ The Three Little Pigs ain't kosher! Betty Boop works Beverly Hills!
Like I said, ABC did them a favor.

Hugh Hewett has a few views about the Oscar disconnect from his LA viewpoint. I disagree with a lot of criticism from outside of the business regarding Hollywood. It is the very nature of art----and great business---to think and create outside the box and to ignore everyone. Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ is the perfect contemporary example; Fed X was a "D" paper at Harvard. Hollywood, like architecture, needs massive capital to carry an idea to its final revelation. The requirements create excessive caution as well as the need to get approval from one's peers. Because Hollywood is exclusively Left, the creators can only listen to Left thought and raise money from those sympathetic with the Left. Don't look for change real soon because the movie "business" is not in good shape.

I have linked the Defend the Defenders under the Activists Sites on the left side of this column. The site is dedicated to the defense of accused murderer and USMC vehicle desecrater 2nd Lt. Ilario Pantano, a young guy many of us feel is being persecuted by a PC Marine Corps more interested in approval from the New York Times than defeating terrorism or taking care of their own. Read about Pantano and make up your own mind. If you want to help him you have to take action. He is the best of the best and if this were a right wing attack the Left would be up in arms. The Right has to be up in arms about this one. Late Add a couple of USMC emailers who have contacted me before and have been correct, caution me on jumping to conclusions on this one. OK, check it out but from where I sit it sure don't pass the smell test.

Take a look at some of the Iraqi blogs over the weekend. Amazing transformation as they credit Iraqi security for success, and it is clear that they are beginning to depend on them and trust them. I think Zarqawi's days are really numbered because the people are now turning terrorists over to their own army. Great news.

I caught AIDS looking for a job. AIDS cases double among Blacks, and nowhere in the "root causes" is anal sex mentioned. That is because all Black males have to be masculine and to hint otherwise will cause the PC Police to rise up. So poverty (I caught it licking my Welfare check), lack of jobs, and dirty needles are blamed. If you will check the Rap lyrics lately, anal sex is one of the main topics.

If you're interested in some basic charting, take a look at the dollar close yesterday. What seems to be an upward sloping trend starter is really a hell of a red flag. Why? Because if you will note, the close of the dollar was at the very bottom of the range. This in spite of a monster day in the market, huge economic numbers, and more bad numbers from Europe and Japan. That chart is the reason you don't listen to the news or opinions when trading. I still say it's headed north, but I have zero bucks on the deal.

Blogger has allegedly straightened out their comments section so that they don't vanish or screw up the system so I opened them up on this post to try it.
The Oscars are Here----A bunch of movies nobody has seen, apparently movies that nobody wants to see, and made by some really talented people who just may be out to lunch. Martin Scorsese gave us a movie called The Aviator, about a man young people have never heard of (Howard Hughes) and those who have heard of him don't much care for him. Clint Eastwood has given us a grim drama, Million Dollar Baby, with great acting, directing, and screenplay but nobody wants to see a picture about mercy killings. Johnny Depp, who everybody thinks is a good actor but has no box office appeal, is in a movie called Finding Neverland, which is about a child molester who could write children's books. Ray has a Ray Charles imitator, Jamie Foxx, singing in a movie nobody really wanted to see. And Sideways, a twisted story about boomers finding wine and and stray pussy that people can't get worked up about either, starring nobody. Then we have the movie called Vera Drake that is about Hollywood's favorite people, after artistic pedophiles: abortionists.

Not one of the movies America really liked were nominated. Passion of the You Know Who was frozen out of every category in spite of grossing a billion world wide. Shrek 2 did half a billion and counting got zero, ditto for Harry Potter, Meet the Fockers, or any one of twenty other movies that have grossed more than the nominated movies. So the elites nominated what?

I'm one straight guy who ain't watching.

The crockumentary, Gunner Palace, is the latest Lefty movie attack on the war, the people who planned it, the officers in the field, and the helpless terrorists.

You can bet the Hollywood Left made this F-Bomb movie PG because it makes our guys in Iraq look bad, at least in their opinion. Why a thirteen year old should be exposed to this without a parent present only the Left can explain. The picture, Gunner Palace ---so called because the doc was filmed in Oday's Palace----was rated R by the actual ratings board which is composed of parents, but the producers appealed to the Hollywood Left laden appeals board who approved a PG-13. The cameraperson-director-editor is German--- you just know how she loves the USA---and produced by Michael Tucker, a Seattle runaway now living in Berlin. According to some of the reviews from a few non-Lefty papers the movie is pretty dam good. We'll see. According to the Stars and Stripes:
It’s a film that may do for the 1st Armored Division’s 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment — nicknamed “Gunners” — what HBO’s “Band of Brothers” did for Easy Company of the 101st Airborne Division: Make them into American icons.
The producer gave an interview in Canada in which he stated
(that) he hopes the film will challenge the "Fox News view" of the war.
The movie is praised by a lot of the grunts, the guys get out their frustrations by doing spontaneous rap lyrics, and the oh so Left new York Times just loves it....
"Unforgettable. A raw and improbably funny portrait of the situation in Iraq. This is not a movie anyone should miss." ~ A.O. Scott, The New York Times
View the trailer HERE.

There are plenty of people who just hate this movie on both artistic grounds and content. This from Movies into Film:
One of the worst edited documentaries in recent memory, and painful proof that powerful subject matter doesn’t guarantee a powerful film, Michael Tucker’s Gunner Palace consists of a series of starts and stops as Tucker lopes through Baghdad in 2003. He photographs and interviews the American soldiers who occupy Iraq from within Uday Hussein’s bomb-scarred mansion. Luckily for the GIs, the late Mr. Hussein’s Olympic-sized swimming pool remains unscathed by U.S. bombardment: there are several scenes of enlistees sunning themselves on floats, or hosting lavish pool parties in the city they’ve helped to decimate and destabilize.

Tucker evidently hopes that viewers will feel empathy for the soldiers; the filmmaker apparently does, or he would like us to believe that. I have my doubts. There’s a hefty amount of cynicism in Tucker’s directorial choices, from his self-conscious evocations of Apocalypse Now (in voice-overs, Tucker tries to mimic Martin Sheen’s disembodied torpor) to structuring his footage so that the battalion members who are contemplative and well-spoken (there are two of them) receive scant on-screen time, while the film endlessly plays up the crude, foul whackos.

Tucker seems exceptionally smitten by SPC Stuart Wilf, a grossly unattractive, self-reflexive ironist who hails from somewhere in Colorado, somewhere, we’re told in one of Tucker’s Didionesque asides, “near Columbine.” Tucker introduces Wilf as “the new army…an army of one,” and never expounds upon those terms. What exactly makes the bug-eyed Wilf “the new army of one”? His youth? His goofiness? His vulgarity? Does the obscene slogan on his sleeveless T-shirt have something to do with it? Tucker stages an entrance for Wilf that’s meant to shock the educated bourgeoisie in the audience, then spends the rest of Gunner Palace sentimentalizing him.
The "movie" features raids gone bad where the "innocents" are sent to Abu Grahib, houses of innocents are knocked down, and the soldiers shown to be moral zeros. Review concludes:
If Gunner Palace had been made back in the early 1940s in Germany, and if it had been directed by Leni Riefenstahl, and traced the German soldiers’ mission with unquestioning integrity—it would be denounced and vilified as a scabrous piece of propaganda. But because it’s made by an American too enamored of his subjects to imply even the shadow of a doubt, everything’s (morally) relative.
Anything the NY Times likes is Left approved, so we'll all have to see. BTW, the Right Wing NY Sun thinks it is a pile of agit-prop too:
nevertheless speaks with what has become the standard documentary vocabulary when it comes to movies about the war, especially in seeking to drive a wedge between the soldiers and their commanders.

The film is punctuated, for example, by the voice of Donald Rumsfeld talking about the war on Armed Forces Radio in terms meant to take on ironic freightage from the pictures being juxtaposed with his words. The job is not very well done. In one instance Rumsfeld speaks of about things getting better in Iraq and how "Baghdad is bustling with commerce," whereupon we cut to — Baghdad bustling with commerce! Oops! Still, we get the idea, an acceptable one in the documentary vernacular, that the men are being sent into battle by people who are, at best, out of touch with the realities they face.
The movie seems to agitate against the officer class, the political class, and Bush. Saddam good--war bad. A fairly balanced review is HERE----three stars (out of five) because of boredom, but the guy pretty much liked it. And Blackfive, no wussy Lefty, loved it.

Managed Democracy, the new EU chant. What this means is that you don't have democracy, but the elites keep telling you that you do while they run all the economies of Europe. Make no mistake, real Democracy has never taken real hold in Europe. The Terror destroyed the French Revolution, Napoleon followed and wrecked what he could of the other countries of Europe, and then a succession of quasi-governments til WWI destroyed all of Europe. Europeans have never recovered from the shocking slaughter of WWI. The Second World War was caused in part by the fears of the elites carried over from WWI. The French general staff had a front row seat for the slaughter that had taken place from 1914 to 1917 and didn't want to be the guy who slaughtered more men. Europe is now old and tired. They want to sleep while their elites "manage" their lives during their "golden years," disengaged from life and remote as they can be from any reality. Managed Democracy is another word for the Nanny State, a place where all are taken care of and "nurtured" so long as you do what "nanny" says even if you are told to get a job as a whore, as one woman seeking extra benefits was told recently by a German bureaucrat.

CORRECTION: Yesterday I stated that were you playing the dollar based on the weekly chart you would be out already. What I should have added is that you should have re-shorted it yesterday, or certainly last night. Sorry, but this is not the place to get trading instructions.

BTW, AG Edwards advised through a weekly advisory that George Soros and a lot of his EU pals may be manipulating the dollar, or at least trying to. There is a strange link between currency action and Reuters "news" releases. You might inquire as to how this can happen? Leverage. You can leverage trillions with millions and the resulting gains and losses are so great on one tick rise or fall in the market that "players" can make a killing. An even bigger killing if the market is rigged.

BOEING UBER ALLES

If you remember, I posted the Boeing opinion of the Airbus a few weeks ago, wherein the Boeing VP said that the Airbus was a dinosaur, something nobody would want or use. Interesting today that a discount Irish Airline bought a shit load of smaller Boeing planes. Actually $4 billion worth. And the new Boeing 777-200LR looks to be a killer plane capable of flying non-stop to anywhere in the world using less fuel, carrying a bigger payload, and 21 more passengers. That's why Boeing called the new EU plane a dinosaur. Boeing stock is flying and you who are curious about things aeronautic be sure to visit the Boeing site. And should you doubt the anti-Americanism of the MSM, while they fell all over themselves to hype the European Air Bus-----not one word anywhere that I have seen about the new Boeing plane.

The dollar: the current retracement is significant, but I direct you to this chart and suggest you run the Bollinger Bands. You will see it has bounced off the red bottom, if it crosses the green the upward direction will be continued. I cannot run fibinacci retracements so this is the only indicator I can give you. You would have shorted when the daily crossed the green you now would set a sell stop very close to today's high and take a profit of around $1,600. Go long when it crosses the green. These are very good indicators for short term traders (I am not one). The Fed controls the dollar and it is clear they want it stronger. They have so many tools. So many. Included in their box is the buying up of dollars, tightening reserve requirements, selling gold, raising the rate of interest at the open window each day. We never see that. BTW if you are trading the weekly chart you are out of the short positions. you got out of your shorts weeks ago and today you should have reshorted. Many are pointing out that it is possible that both the Treasury and the Fed may be lying because the weak dollar is so good for the economy and that yesterday and today are more a function of horrible EU economic numbers than anything else. That's why you watch the numbers and don't listen to the news. It should also be noted that both the Euro zone and the Japanese released disappointing numbers overnight and that could also have inspired the Dollar to short cover.

No Pasaran, now one of my daily stops, posts this one (several days ago)
What do you call people who blow up police stations, ambulance services, restaurants, hospitals, schools, water and electric services, behead social workers who feed their hungry and provide medical attention to their sick, murder men who are there to rebuild their schools and teachers who give their children hope for the first time, Muslims who blow up Muslims, even on the holiest day in the Muslim faith, at the mosques no less? .Insurgents? Hardly!

I call them brutal terrorists! Thugs willing to drug some young idiot wannabe Jihadist, tape a bomb to his chest, tell him he’s a martyr, on his way to meet Allah and 77 virgins, point him to a group of innocent people outside a mosque, clawing their way towards the first freedom and peace they have ever known.. Filth, Scum, Neanderthals, Dirt Bags, Murderers, Wimps, Criminals, Cowards, I can come up with a whole list of appropriate names for what these so-called people are, but insurgents won’t make that list.

The men, who threw tea into the Boston harbor, now they were insurgents. The farmers, who sent the Red Coats packing, they were insurgents.

The term "insurgents" implies that there is something noble in their deeds, something justifiable about their tactics, a valiant act of patriotic duty involved. In this case, nothing could be further from the truth.these freedom fighters are not fighting for freedom, quite the contrary.

The term insurgent does not apply to these terrorists, so why do we use it? Because we don’t like calling anything what it is these days.that’s why. (Using the term "we" as loosely as the term "insurgent" of course.)

What do you call the taking of innocent life, not in self defense, without provocation of any kind, not in war? Some call it "a choice" or "abortion". But I looked it up in the dictionary and I like calling things by their rightful name, so I call it murder.
Lots and lots of really good stuff there.

All, and I mean ALL, the Paris Hilton cell phone stuff is HERE link via Page six six six. Looks like Jessica Simpson is now a coke whore too. Bad bad news. Lots of pix, lots of notes, and lots of celeb trash. Were I Jessica I'd be in rehab about now unless I had a desire to have sex with every dyke in the pen.

Barron's will join in the China alert this weekend. More warnings on the Chinese "bubble economy"
According to The Economist magazine, China's banks have been little more than conduits for pouring money into local governments and state-owned companies, with little regard for risk or profit. The build-up of non-performing loans have led to insolvency of virtually the entire banking system. By end-2003, outstanding loans had surged to 145% of GDP, the highest such ratio in the world. Bad debts to banks at 40% of GDP are a threat to fiscal stability. Most Chinese bankers, particularly in local branches, cannot tell a good loan from a bad one. There is no need to, because local managers' pay has depended on asset growth. Lending lots and attracting deposits quickly have been all that counted - risk, return and capital adequacy have meant nothing.

The magazine [The Economist] also notes that local governments have illegally underwritten $100 billion in loans to bankroll favored investment projects. And though the Chinese are making strides and moving as fast as they can on reform, this system will take years to fix.
The discussion of excess liquidity (too much cash) in the system caused by our 1% interest rates imposed by our Fed is always a part. Our low rates meant that our money was seeking a better return and went into China to cash in on the "miracle" supposedly taking place in that rigidly planned economy. The money was entirely speculative and the Chinese planners were available for cash bribes. The result is that real estate prices have gone through the roof and these real property prices have counted in the GDP numbers in China. Take out the real estate bubble and you have a much different picture of China. In addition
There are an estimated 150 million surplus workers in the rural sector.
There are 10-12 million surplus workers in the state-owned enterprises.
11- 12 million people are added annually to the working-age population.

"Some 800 million rural Chinese make 15% of what their counterparts in the cities earn," according to Naim. That is staggering inequality. "Because the inequality is so staggering and access to services and infrastructure so uneven between rural and urban areas, and unemployment so unevenly distributed, the burden to argue that China will not have some growth-impairing accident is very hard."
They will have a "hard landing", but after that things look rosy indeed because the thinking is that the Chinese will not allow their banks to "carry" non performing loans for years and years as the Japanese did. Stay tuned, and meanwhile watch any stocks that have anything to do with commodities; those prices are about to fall hard around the world. Be sure you check out Barron's this week for a major article by Stratfor's Friedman:
"’Today's China boom can only be compared to the dot-com frenzy of the late '90s in the hype and conviction that China will somehow defy all the rules of normal economic cycles,’ he [Mr. Friedman] avers. Yet many observers are still agog over China's low labor costs, the gleaming office buildings of Shanghai, the state-of-the art plants rimming its eastern cities, huge currency reserves and surging trade surpluses.

“Friedman sees growing imbalances, seething social discontent and a rotting financial structure. In fact, to Friedman, the current China exhibits unsettling similarities to Japan in the late '80s, just before the sun set on the latter economy.

“China, like Japan of yore, is experiencing an insensate real-estate boom and looming overcapacity in its industrial base.

“The financial structures of both countries suffer from the rot of loan misallocation, a shaky banking system and a huge overhang of bad debts, Friedman notes. Likewise, much of today's economic growth in China is profitless, due to both the weight of moribund state-owned enterprises in the economy and a mania for market-share growth at the expense of economic returns.”
Returns? We communists don't need no stinking returns. Barron's is MSM and this news has been so far off the radar that I think I'm the only one who has commented on it during the past year.

Should you read Noonan today, be sure you click on the links.

It takes a lot of work to be a nitpicking negativist about our economy right now, but you wouldn't know it if you pay attention to the MSM. Larry Kudlow has a very good piece today.

Rueters continues to be the propaganda outlet of the Left. Today they proclaim their goal as scouring the world's media for provocative stories on humanitarianism. Helping Iraqis doesn't count.

American academia and elites will never give Bush credit for starting the movement toward democratization in the Middle East. They will continue to heap him with abuse in every journal and every PBS outlet; the EU slugs will never admit they stood by while history passed them; it will be the new scholars in a democratized Middle East who will recognize him as their Abraham Lincoln.
It is becoming likely that the Bush policy---and the American dead---will be remembered for bringing the people in the Middle East into their governments. We may not have a type of democracy that is right for them, but the way the politicians in Iraq are compromising to achieve a common goal has to be seen to be believed. I've never been convinced that Iraqis wanted democracy at all, but it is clear that I was dead wrong. The success of this enterprise, which will be the wedge driven between Iran and Syria, will change the entire Mid-East, including change in Saudi Arabia which may cut off the oil supply to the west. We are living in a time of fundamental changes in the world, changes which our president has started in motion. The campus elites will never give him credit and the historians, communist to their rotten cores, will continue to heap abuse on him. My thinking is that it will be the new scholars from the Middle East who will recognize him for what he has clearly started. It's a shame that the entire country won't recognize Bush because they, like the welfare state hobos in Europe, just want to be taken care of by our government and they don't think spreading democracy is our business.

They should read the U.S. Constitution, still the most revolutionary document written since the Bible and Koran.

Front Page has done everyone a great service by identifying Lefties around the country. The LINK IS HERE

The BS from around the blogs and press is that "the French (German) people like us." Total crapola. How can they like us if everything they read and watch is hatefully anti-American, anti-Semitic, and anti-Bush? Those papers are selling. Those TV shows are watched. The French people don't have a clue about Oil for Food, the near total corruption of the UN, and they hate Israel. Come on. Let's not kid ourselves.

On the day that Pudge Rodriguez reported 22 pounds lighter to the Detroit Tigers, Jose Conseco's new book on Major League drug taking hit number three on the Amazon list. Pudge said he wanted to be faster. Right.

Chinese trouble is going mainstream. It's beginning to look like my piece on China a while back AND the Simmons piece of last week are very short of the mark. George Friedman, president of Stratfor and one of the leading economists in the world, is calling for a collapse of the Chinese economy. He thinks he also undershot the mark, in fact all his pieces low balling the Chinese bad debt have been removed from the web; it's not at JWR, not at Stratfor, it's not anywhere. He now thinks they have a trillion dollars in non-performing loans with reserves of less than 600 billion. He likens the current situation in China to that of Japan in the 80s and SE Asia in 1996. There have been a few warnings but none from such a near to main stream source. Your investments in China are at great risk. Keep in mind how the MSM just loved Japan before the crash and how in love with SE Asia til the crash there. Stratfor points out that emails touting Chinese investment "before it's too late" inundate all of our mail boxes. This will be big MSM news after the crash. Kudlow may have something on it as well, maybe tomorrow.
Add: 2/23: The Chinese are slowing their economy which means the high prices for commodities may be at an end. WaPo has best piece so far.

Did Laura Bush kill Hunter Thompson???? Developing.....

Looks like the California rains have knocked out my cable and internet connection. No idea when this will post. Lite blogging today

Paris Hilton has done a public service by having her phone hacked. We are all much more vulnerable than imagined. Cell phone hacking has been going on very quietly for more than a year: SS numbers, bank info, national security info and much more has been stolen. Message: everyone better stop keeping info on cell phones. A good article is HERE.

Sex Ed 102: whatever you do guys, do not let some babe tie you to a windowsill after sex. That's because the tying is a prelude to what she really wants to do. What may that be? She will cut off your pee pee and flush it down the toilet, that's what. Woman perp has been charged with tampering with the evidence. Details

Sex Ed 103: More than you ever wanted to know about female orgasms. It's genetic and hard to achieve while falling from a plane.

Sex Ed 303: The new AIDS/STD is no fucking joke. Orally or anally, homosexuals are taking a chance. If the past is any clue, the infected will do their best to spread it to the heterosexual community so the infected can get federal aid. But the disease itself is really horrible. Oh, and the homos are blaming Laura Bush for spreading homophobia and causing them to have unprotected anal sex.

First, the Democrats learned to play the race card every time somebody Black faced some reality. Now it's the sex card as teachers and nurses react to Arnold's push. The teachers are now the pressure group on the Left and fight to remain incompetent and as Left as possible. Nurses want to load hospitals with more nurses than patients if possible. California has an 8 billion dollar budget shortfall and even though the economy is growing by leaps and bounds the new businesses can at most contribute 6 billion.

Only because you can't get onto the site due to too many hits, here's the NEWS. Jennifer Aniston is a full blown DYKE. You can go HERE but you can't link to HERE because of the bandwidth. It seems like link two pulled the piece. Not to fear, link here. Anniston has been lezing it up for years. No further blogging today, my broken heart can't take it.

Public Service for SoCals: There is now a site that will provide you with all sigalert info. Lots of it is free. Check it out HERE.

Notes on a Zig Zag paper:
There are no adequate words
to describe the human bowel movement named Doug Wead who has released taped conversations he had with W. He taped Bush because Bush believed him to be a friend, instead Wead is a scum writer. The piece, in the New York Times is here. What a vicious man. I'm just sick.

Now for the good.....I hope you have VDH's Private Papers bookmarked and visit at least once a week. Not only is he good but he has guests who are his equal, if only for one column.

Blogs strike again---and the MSM is full of crap again---but this time only the sports bloggers knew about it. Just kidding. Sports writers did their jobs because the so called sports blogs just report scandal and sex. Reggie Fowler, the guy who is buying the Minnesotta Vikings NFL team, lied like hell on a resume that was released to the public. All hell has broken loose because he has lied so much everybody is wondering if he has any money. What seems most likely is that this guy has uncanny business ability and didn't "need no stinking degree" to be successful. As a side here, because of the internet, reporters who can get on line just as well as the rest of us, actually checked out a story. What does it take to be a "journalist?" I'd say the first thing would be to stay away from the Columbia Journalism School of Communism. What does it take to be a blogger? If you're going to do it, check things out.

BTW, THE NHL: Everyone forgets the axiom that the purpose of business is to stay in business. The six million dollar spread in the salary cap is actually six times the number of teams (32) or almost $200 million. When almost every team is losing money they need to "stay in business" or close it down. A Canadian sport will move back to Canada where it will remain with only a few American teams. All will have much smaller payrolls.

The Dems in congress will now try to smear Negroponte and claim he approved prisoner abuse allegedly done by the CIA. The democrats have passed both the "cry wolf" mark and "the sky is falling" line and are now approaching the "world will end Saturday" boundary. Nobody is listening.

The Juliette Huddy links from various search engines now totals 314. Some of the people wanted "Juliette Huddy naked," topless, ready for action, and others. Anyway, if you want to build traffic Juliette is obviously a way. BTW she is one of the few "news babes" who either has a connected family or husband who can keep all references off the web. She ain't posed for nothin'.

As Hillary speaks in support of the war. I confirmed her shift back in December of '03. I had originally called it seven months prior when in May of 03 I observed this:
AS HILLARY MOVES RIGHT

Posted 9:38 AM by Howard
And I mean RIGHT

* Voted for the War
* Voted to raise wages and benefits for Military
* Refuses to endorse removal of Rick Santorum
* Supports occupation
* Making nasty sounds about Iran; in fact watch her announce support for action against Iran.
* Totally silent about WMD in Iraq
* Didn't fight the tax bill and didn't even fight for the child benefits for poor people.

She will serve on the Armed Services Committee and will get to know every General, every Colonel, every military wannabe and she will make dam sure they get what they want. Watch her support help for Military families. If and when she runs for President she will have friends in the Military. The Republicans will not be able to tell all spies to run for cover because she will expose them, or tell the country she is weak on National Security. She will put herself forth as a Margaret Thatcher of the center.

Watch. She is in the process of divorcing herself from the Left. She doesn't appear at any of their functions, doesn't write for The Nation, The New York Observer, or even The Village Voice. By 2004 she will be seen as a Conservative Democrat.

Get ready.
How's that for a call.

You won't read it here because I'm above all this but Soros is funding the entire radical Left. If you haven't read about it just try HERE

I've had at least 25 search engine hits looking for Juliette Huddy today. I guess the babe is a traffic builder.

Simmons is running a major piece on China which echos the piece I referenced a few weeks ago. Main link was to HERE at Econopundit. Most big time economists think China will continue to grow. Think communism, think fake bank loans, think fake books. My piece is a simpler read.

THERE IS A GOD........
JULIETTE HUDDY IS BACK ON FOX

A 13 year old Black boy was murdered by the LAPD. That's the story if you read the LA Times, watch the local TV, or scan Google for the national press stories. However..............LAPD wife links to the NRO online piece by anonymous LAPD officer, Jack Dunphy, who writes about what actually happened.
The officers' car came to a stop just behind the Camry, which now contained only the driver. Officer Garcia was the passenger in the police car, and as he stepped from the car the Camry began backing toward him. Believing that the Camry's driver was attempting to run him down, Garcia opened fire, firing ten rounds. The Camry struck the police car, causing damage to much of its right side, including the passenger door where Garcia had been standing. The Camry continued backing up, then lurched forward and came to a stop next to the police car. As to how to prevent 13-year-old boys from using stolen cars to run over police officers, the mayor had no suggestions.
Once again gutless politicians, scumbag media, and the usual Lefties attack a cop who was almost killed before he fired. Now he's accused of murder. Nobody in SoCal will know the truth unless we read the NRO piece. For a typical accusation just read what the racist NAACP has to say. An exception to the above is that talk radio is all over the story, I don't listen to it but emailers are letting me know.

Notes on a Zig Zag paper:
Vioxx sales
to resume and that is great news for many people in continuing pain 24 hours a day. Speaking for myself only, when I was almost crazy with pain Vioxx was the only thing that worked, not completely but it made the pain tolerable. I don't give a fuck about heart attacks.

Some Liberals are intellectually honest even though they are drowned out by the totally Left MSM. Many are now asking if the war in Iraq wasn't a good idea after all. It takes some guts to climb down from a position that is 100% wrong.

The alliance between Iran and Syria, which in effect gives terrorism State sponsorship, means zero. Ask yourselves this one: if we bombed both countries back to the stone age do you think the terrorism would stop? I still say we face a revolution fueled by an Idea. Freedom is one antidote but we all need to take a serious look at the appeal of the Muslim religion. A billion people ain't exactly a minority.

My friend and the FBI continued. He has a BG as an explosives expert. He was one of those nut cases who used to crawl into the tunnels in VietNam and find bombs, figure out the system, and then defuse them. He really knows his shit. He overheard a conversation in a coffee shop off Wilshire Bl. between three guys that was really scary to him. Under discussion were various detonating systems and how to mask them. He thinks they're up to something. And they weren't discussing a film project. He phoned the local FBI office from a pay phone. They still wanted his name and address after listening. He hung up. He says at least his conscience is clear if something happens.

Those of us living in SoCal know all about the pro-terrorist UC Irvine, their guarantee of hate speech and actions, the endorsement by the LA Times of Muslim activism---read anti-Semitism and pro Terrorist activity---, and the ability of Muslim groups to shape UC Irvine policy. For those of you who either don't know or might like to, Front Page lays it out there. UC Irvine is far from alone as now UCLA is "encouraging diversity" as long as it is anti_Semitic.

Kim duToit has some very sad news. Those of you who are regulars to his site need to go there.

Terror News: while everyone prattles about cutting off the financing of terrorism, the White House has left the Treasury agency designed to do the job empty for a year and a half. Think: nobody is watching the financing of Zarqawi, al Qaeda, Iran, etc. etc. I still wonder about Bush who still seems to be one of the worst managers ever. (Link: Counterterrism blog, a must read once per week. They have everything)

Campus Radicalism Hate Americanism will be found here, at Common Sense and Wonder. A play, starring a very unattractive Left Wing actress nobody has ever heard of in a play that targets Laura Bush, is factually incorrect, but that never stops the Left. The Boy Scouts are barred from campus, natch

TERROR ALERT
Got a call
from somebody wanting to report a serious situation to the FBI. I told the somebody to go to their website. He told me he did but they won't take a complaint unless he fully identifies himself, a sure ticket to the cemetary. What a bunch of idiots they are. I confirmed the data by going to their site. You can phone them, but you better use a payphone since they have caller ID. Just insane. We are all in big trouble with terrorists. I know this somebody and he doesn't imagine things.

Hey, maybe he should call the ACLU.

SS Reform, a brief observation: increasing the SS taxes in any way stifles new employment. That is because our contributions are matched by our employers. When the payroll taxes rise the cost per new hire rises exponentially. Democrats know this full well and they may actually be hoping to encourage a recession in order to win next time. We all need to fight ANY payroll tax increase. We are the ones who will pay big time in the long run. I hope Kudlow will run a long piece on this.

Due to job I don't have the time to pay attention to everything that interests me, but the case of Lt. Pantano, the Marine accused of murder in Iraq, is being vetted pretty well around the web. I think WND is the best place to read up on it. They have links. I personally think that blind accusations shouldn't get attention, but it looks like our Military has joined the PC witch hunters when appropriate. Here too....

If Hollywood comes out against Hillary Clinton it means she cannot lose. Were I a politician of any party I'd avoid any and all connections with every movie asshole on the planet. Drudge is reporting that David Geffen is in a pussy snit about her.

The Left is now in full fledged attack mode on our Military. The ACLU claims to have photos of prisoner abuse in Afghnistan. USA Today, never failing to repeat any and all Left charges has a major article today. You can bet the nets will have full coverage tonight. The ACLU is simply another tax exempt arm of the Left Wing of the Democratic Party and the Democrats are on a "smear the Military" binge.

Those of you who read my post on Turkey yesterday and haven't read the New Sisyphus piece on Turkey as well should do so [thanx to emailer J Joseph]. It's here.
Turkish opposition to the Iraq War cost American lives. By delaying the arrival of the 4th Infantry Division, Turkey made both the war and the following occupation more deadly and more dangerous. Turkey has proven to be a faithless and fair-weather friend. It seems our friend was right: they hate us and wish us only ill.
He sees the "new" Turkey as an opportunity. Interesting as always.

Philadelphia Christians that I featured HERE have been freed of all charges. Judge threw out the charges. Best story is HERE

TURKEY AIN'T OUR FRIEND-----Duuuuuhhhh the increasingly lame Wall Street Journal slobbers surprise at the fall of Turkey. So does most of the blog community. Here is a piece I wrote in March of 2003 right after Turkey blocked our invasion plans into Northern Iraq from Turkey.

The only blunder of the war could be very serious indeed

The unreadiness of our military for this Turkish "betrayal" is inexcusable. The current leader of Turkey, Necmettin Erbakan, is well known as a Muslim firebrand. When he was last leading the country he did the following: signed agreements with terrorist Lybia and Iran, established a religious school system to turn out Islamic radicals, had plans to build mosques with public monies, infiltrated the government with hard line Muslim Fundamentalists, allowed the Iranian ambassador to Turkey to call on Turkish young people to take up arms against the United States; and other less odious practices.

He and his party are no friends of the United States and could well be moving Turkey from a secular state to an Islamic state. Turkey has been flexing its muscles throughout the middle east for years and was once the seat of The Ottoman Empire.

They fear the Kurds who have migrated in great numbers into many cities and are a majority in the Southern area. It can never be forgotten that the Kurds were the instruments of the Turks in the genocidal slaughter of one million Armenians in the early 20's. They don't like each other and if the Kurds ever "ratted the Turks out about the Armenian genocide" Turkey would be liable for billions in reparations.

This may go down as a major blunder in this otherwise well planned war. And it is inexcusable.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only surprise right now is the surprise being expressed in both Blogs and MSM that the slide of Turkey into an Islamic state is a surprise. Watch out for an attack on the Kurds in the south of Turkey where Kurds are a majority. Bad blood has existed since the Armenian genocide of the 20s. Turkey is "this close" to becoming an official Muslim state. This has been coming for years, started by women wearing hadj to school.

All about Red Necks, hard work, and Charlie Rangel. I know this is trivial, probably contrived, but the stink about Howard Dean's alleged racism is total bullshit. The guy simply mis-spoke, but Dean seems to forget that everything anyone says these days can be blown up in your face by anyone with a match and bad intentions. Hannity, whom I regard as a zero with wings, a guy who always has bad intentions when Democrats are concerned, is leading the bogus charge in an attempt to smear Dean and the Democrats. However the piously phony jerk seems not to care when the blacks call whites from the south "red necks." For everyone's info, the term was coined to identify white field workers who worked in the white hot summer sun all day while in a bent over position as they toiled with hoes and shovels. After a week in the broiling sun their necks would become severely sunburned and then blistered. They couldn't take a vacation or see a doctor so the blistering went untreated and the backs of their necks turned permanently red from the infections. Guys with jobs in the fields were uneducated, the perfect targets for today’s insufferable elites, both Left and Right. When Charlie Rangel, a racist pig if there ever was one, calls whites “red necks” he knowingly insults whites, or tries to. Hannity allows all this to slip by his loosely wired brain cells in his zeal to pander to blacks while smearing Dean. For the rest of you, consider hard work in the broiling sun when you use the term "red neck" to describe people you consider lower class. Hannity, is also a racist, but tries like hell to pretend he isn't.

Those of you who thought Ward Churchill was just a lone whacko on the left can think again. Funded by George Soros’ Open Society Institute, the Ford Foundation, and the Public Welfare Foundation. There's lots more. Once again Front Page does a thorough job. One mention: Loretta Williams is an old black Lefty from the old school whom I met ten years ago at a meeting. Trust me, she is one of those snakes that slither around rooms saying next to nothing, looking harmless, and seemingly not too bright. But remarks to associates that one overhears reveal someone much different. She is a part of the radicalization of the university system, an uncompromising Lefty who never sleeps. There are thousands like her, a poison gas sweeping the country.

Country Store has been down all morning and I've had literally no success in accessing the edit section of my site. Blogger is stopped up once again and I cannot correct any errors. Sorry. I'll probably remain mute most of the day. If I didn't have a real job I'd get out of Blogger in a nano-second.???? Can't get Larry Kudlow either.

AS SOME BLOGGERS BECOME THE FISHMONGERS OF PARIS

When egos rule. The French Revolution officially began it's demise when the female fish sellers took over the mobs and demanded death to the entire aristocracy, and later on to anyone who dared to differ.
Today the inflated egos of many in the "blogosphere" are demanding that elections be held in Iran, that all bloggers and readers rally to demand them and are even selecting people to supervise them. After getting Jordan and Rather, "power" [to destroy in many cases] has gone to their heads much like the "Terror" of the French Revolution in the hands of the fishmongers of Paris. The bloggers and egotists are not the guillotines of France but as you see this ego driven fantasy unfold you will get the idea. Simon is as good a place as any to view egos in action. I am surprised at Michael Ledeen's support for such a frivolous enterprise. Changing Iran so they will have an honest election while their Mafia controls every business, every police force, a secret police force and most employment won't happen because we write. We will have to fight. For a reality check on Iran, the chain of dangerous thugs who run it, and the number of people who will defend the government I have republished my piece on Iran from July.

IRAN, IF YOU READ THE BLOGS, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG

Posted 7:05 PM by Howard
Iran is The Godfather, Part IV

Here's the deal. Think Soviet Union in the last days dissolving to Yeltsen. Think crony capitalism, think criminals in charge of every business and the police, a force of Hells Angels type motorcycle thugs called the Hezbollah Militia working for them, the Revolutionary Guards who also work for them, and a secret police. The real power is a handful of clerics and their associates who call the shots behind the curtain and have gotten very rich in the process. Think mullahs getting rich running businesses given to them by Rafsanjani, who run things through murder and intimidation.

After the 1979 revolution the mullahs seized virtually everything of value--banks, hotels, car and chemical companies, makers of drugs and consumer goods. What distinguishes Iran is that many of these assets were given to Islamic charitable foundations, controlled by the clerics. According to businessmen and former foundation executives, the charities now serve as slush funds for the mullahs and their supporters.

What exists there now is a dictatorship run by a shadow government that the U.S. State Department suspects finances terrorist groups abroad through a shadow foreign policy. Its economy is dominated by shadow business empires and its power is protected by a shadow army of enforcers.

Ostensibly, the country has been run by Rafsanjani for the past 24 years. He's an opportunist and very smart. He has "privatized" the economy by divvying up the spoils to loyalists, and like a Mafia Godfather, he takes pieces of everything. He has gotten very rich in the process.

It is the youth that is taking to the streets. Here is the raw data, an estimate from U.S. Census Bureau; U.S. Department of Labor.

Population IRAN 67 million; USA 283 million

Percent under 25: IRAN 65% USA 35%

GDP per capita: IRAN $1,800 USA $37,000

Inflation: IRAN 25% USA 2%

Unemployment: IRAN: 18% USA 6%

Now Iran is pretty rich, only nobody but family is getting the money. The country's largest copper mine; the state-owned TV network; a governor of Kerman province; an outfit that dominates Iran's $400 million pistachio export business; key positions in the Ministry of Oil; the Tehran Metro construction project (an estimated $700 million spent so far) are all Rafsinjani family members. Today, operating through various foundations (more later) and front companies, the family is also believed to control one of Iran's biggest oil engineering companies, a plant assembling Daewoo automobiles, and Iran's best private airline. Remember, all these better paid workers who are privileged to work in these companies will be loyal to the government, the ones in the tiny private sector getting paid crap are ripe.

So guess why people are pissed? They earn $1,800 per year and the Rafsanjani family and their mullah buddies are multi millionaires and billionaires with wealth in real property all over the world. Anybody who reports this in the press is killed.

The balance of the economy is controlled by the Islamic foundations, which now sack the country and pocket the money too. They are just organized crime. If you get successful you are supposed to donate 20% of what you make to charity. The mullahs stop by and extort the money. Failure to "donate" will result in somebody saying you're a bad Muslim and you are tossed in jail. Don't think these "foundations" or "charities" are small time. One, The Mostazafan Foundation, employs up to 400,000 workers (pro Mullah or you ain't hired) and has assets that in all probability exceed $10 billion. Among its holdings: the former Hyatt and Hilton hotels in Tehran; the highly successful Zam-Zam soft drink company (once Pepsi); an international shipping line; companies producing oil products and cement; swaths of farmland and urban real estate.

Keep in mind that all these "employees" of all these criminal enterprises will be loyal to the government. Think the Baath loyalists in Iraq. These "foundations" hire the thugs too.

So what you have is a mullahocracy of thugs with billions in business deals, and more billions in cash. They stand ready to spend what is necessary to stay in power. When push comes to shove they have always murdered to stay around.

The blog community would have you believe that a bunch of directionless kids marching in the streets without guns can throw these guys out. Like the people in power care about what anybody thinks. The EU thugs? Africa which they bribe? China? They only fear the United States and until we really rattle the cage nothing will change.

Running stupid ads or doing websites is a fucking joke. More feel good crap. The USA is going to have to figure a way to topple these billionaires and I think and hope we are working on it. Keep in mind we cut off a lot of terrorist money and funding. We can do some real financial damage to these guys.

Wearing the suit: When I produced my first movie at the ripe old age of 28, one of the old hands I'd hired took me aside after day one of the production and told me, "Somebody has to wear the suit." In other words the manager has to manage or all is lost. I promptly went out and bought some very sharp pants and a shirt, showed up the next day, fired the director and asked another guy if he hated his job. Everything ran smoothly after that and everybody knew who was in charge. Which brings me to the Drudge link to The New York Observer's recounting of the sagging saga of CBS life. One thing is clear: A bunch of women at CBS have the males totally under their control. All of the men are sensitive to the needs of others and are a bunch of pussys afraid to stand up and manage. None of them have the balls to wear the suit.

Yesterday's link to the excellent piece in No Pasaran was wrong. (I didn't confirm) This one is correct and really deserves a read.

Notes on a Zig Zag paper: I drive by the Kodak Theatre, the place where the "Thank You Hollywood" billboard for Bush is most clearly viewed. Yesterday afternoon I noted that some enterprising Lefty had scrawled a swastika on Bush and disfigured something else but I was driving too fast to catch it. Don't Liberals do what everyone expects them to do? Jesus, what a stupid stunt.

It's Official:
New Blogger is a complete piece of shit. I am posting this early in the AM and leaving. I have no idea if it will EVER get on. I'm joining the masses and leaving the second I get the time.

Documented evidence available as to the connection between a Missouri group known as the Islamic African Relief Agency and Khartoum.

And good old Jaques has decided that the "time is not right" to declare Hamas a terrorist group. WTF, they're only killing Jews, right? Why we should be concerned about any relationship with France beyond serving as one our toilets is beyond me.

Then there is this
little piece from No Pasaran: HERE trans-Atlantic relations would require the U.S. to swallow European viewpoints hook, line and sinker ." In other words the toilet speaks. The untreated sewage, Germany, is even worse. Read the piece, it's very good.

Another strange visitor with the handle, Ramblings of a absurd Alcoholic. Worth a few minutes.

Also a visit from Tussy's. Sample writing:
Kemaren, St. Valentine's Day. Bangun pagi, ngga ada maksud apa2. Jam 09:30, bel apartemen gw dipencet kenceng2, dua kali pencetan panjang. Haitatsu deeesu! katanya.
Stayed awile too.

As I noted before, my traffic is way way up and visitors from all kinds of sensitive women who write poetry on secret blogsites are dropping by. I'll keep them as my little secret.

My day with the Left Wing mob in LA.

Our phones were completely shut down, our lights were mostly off, so I spent the morning in a coffee soaked “meeting” that turned out to be a political “discussion” by our sales staff including our co-owner who was finally persuaded to put out his cigarette. It is hard to believe that reasonably intelligent people can believe:

1. There is no terrorist threat at all. 9/11 cannot happen again. No way.
2. Valentine’s Day is for Republicans and those fucking women.
3. Terrorism is an invention by the Republicans
3. Bush and Cheney planned the 9-11 attack (well OK not planned exactly, but they knew about it. The purpose? So Cheney and Bush’s father could steal Iraqi oil—the president is too stupid to think that one up)
4. Chris Rock is right about the Academy Awards being for a bunch of white faggots and women.
5. Flat out “fuck Iraq”
6. All the money spent on the war should go to their favorite social programs (all different)
7. The election was stolen in Ohio
8. Valentine’s Day is for Republicans and those fucking women.
9. The Grammy’s were total shit
10. The Republicans have already built a fascist state and there is no way to kick them out.

The guys were loud, they were obnoxious, and I retired to an adjoining room and used my cell phone. Keep in mind that these guys (no women) are all voters, all have friends outside the workplace that agree with them, and they probably reflect 47% of the population. There is no reasoning with people like this, their facts are fallacious but they believe them completely, and they really do hate Republicans. Hate. This really is a part of this country. I don’t know. Has it always been this way? Maybe. Guys who are really old, like 95 and stuff, will tell you about the Great Depression when guys would literally fight to the death over an apple, how they hated banks and anybody with money, and how business had destroyed their lives. Nazis roamed the streets. Communists ditto. People had no big hopes. Only small dreams. A quarter of a million teenagers rode the rails with nothing to do and no work. A girl recalled
What sticks mostly in my mind was losing my money in the bank. I didn't quite understand why that bank had to close and take my money, which probably was only a few dollars. When they started paying off a few years later, my check was eleven cents. It helped when my brother gave me his, which was eighteen cents, and my older sister's, which was twenty-three cents. I was really in the money then.
And democracy barely survived. I remember that an uncle once read a poem to me that was written by his wife that died that was kind of funny. It went:
I would not gladly die for you
Nor to kill a dragon fly for you;
Nor love the ground on which you trod
Nor to be true, "So help me God"
For you I would not brave defeat,
Nor strew your path with roses sweet.
I would not, for you brave a fire
Nor do anything so rash and dire.
But if it fits in with your wishes
I'll very gladly wash the dishes.
So democracy survived the Depression. I guess it will survive this too.

A really good post over at Iraq the Model. His little party didn't win a seat but he tried, he's not pissed off, and he values the experience. More and more it looks like my own doubts about the desires and abilities of the Iraq people to go for democracy were very wrong. Thank God.

More backup for my piece about the Jordan Pearl "affair" below, this time in the Seattle Times via Kausfiles. Kurtz may or may not have killed his own story but here is the removed paragraph, according to the Seattle Times.
Several CNN staffers say Jordan, who was distraught about the controversy, saw the handwriting on the wall in tendering his resignation. But top executives are also said to have lost patience with the continuing gossip about Jordan, including his affair with Marianne Pearl, widow of the murdered reporter Daniel Pearl, and subsequent marital breakup.
When you stop to think about it, this is a pretty dirty story.

For some reason a lot of students and poets have been visiting my site. Who knows, perhaps one of them will write a love poem that doesn't rhyme about Democratic Fascists. Some sites are well worth viewing. I direct you to this poem that is posted complete with art and music. She puts music in the BG all of her poetry and is very effective. Perhaps you will get some ideas for your porn sites from her. Her main site is called Poetic Inspire. Interesting but no sex. And here's one called "Three Notes to a Lover" by someone else. Maybe I'll start a poetry blog. My first poem will be called "Fuck You, the Poem." When I write it I'll post it and maybe one of these women will put some art and music behind it and people will think I have sensitivity.

A terrifc photo site written in Spanish or something also dropped by. Go HERE for some really cool stuff.

Then I got a visit from a B&D site called Mistress Matisse that seems to be commercial. Drop by if you need a beating.

Chris Rock stink: I don't know of many straight white men who watch the Oscars either. Maybe the Lefties.

Playwright Arthur Miller eulogized here.

EASON JORDAN BOFFING DANNY PEARL'S WIFE

AN EASON JORDAN WHOOPS, and I mean whoops. Underneath everything is an apparent affair with Danny Pearl's wife. Jordan has been married a long time, and news of the "affair" has been common talk around CNN for more than just a while and has been more than hinted in some gossip columns. This is the real reason for the MSM coverup of the story. Jordan apparently felt that when people started looking at his "whoopsie" at Davos, news of the "affair" would come out. Silly boy. It's out. A round up of sorts includes this
Mariane Pearl has been quietly seeing CNN executive vice president Eason Jordan, sources told The Washington Post. The Atlanta-based Jordan, 43, has been married for 16 years and has two children. His wife, Susan Jordan, said, “I have absolutely no comment.” CNN reps would neither confirm nor deny an affair. Eason “will not comment,” spokeswoman Christa Robinson told us. “The company doesn’t comment on the personal matters of any of our employees.” Pearl, who lives in New York, did not respond to a message left with her book agent yesterday.

The 36-year-old Pearl stood by Eason Jordan last year when he faced criticism after admitting he hadn’t reported some info he’d learned during 13 trips to Iraq for “fear of endangering our staff in Baghdad.”

“I have known Jordan for almost a year,” she wrote in a letter to The Washington Post last April. “From the start, I was surprised by how ethical Jordan is and how dedicated he is to issues of journalistic ethics - more concerned than I would have expected from someone at a network like CNN, with its splashy logos and special theme music for the war.”

Pearl, whose request for compensation from the 9/11 victims’ fund was rejected last month, went on CNN Tuesday to plead her case. Some staffers wonder whether she’ll be invited back.
There is even talk that Jordan had info that Danny Pearl had been targeted for killing and didn't say anything. The link is HERE
From Dinocrat. There is some amplification down the page HERE.

Don't you MSMers hate Salivating Morons like me????? I'll have more after I dry the drool off my keyboard.

PENNSYLVANIA, WHERE EVERYTHING CHRISTIAN CAN BE A HATE CRIME

I am not a practicing Christian, and I guess I'm supposed to stand around accept the rape of Christians preaching the Gospel in Pennsylvania without saying anything. Talk about an MSM blackout, this news appears nowhere except HERE:
It is a story that has the Christian community on the edge of its seat. In Philadelphia, 11 Christians were arrested and charged under Pennsylvania’s hate crimes law (the Ethnic Intimidation Act), for preaching the Gospel. The arrests took place at a homosexual event last October, and five of the 11 still face serious criminal charges.

Twenty-five-year-old Michael Marcavage is at the center of a case that could determine whether preaching the Gospel is a hate crime; specifically, whether preaching against homosexuality is a hate crime.
Also arrested but then let go were three old ladies, who were cuffed and placed in the paddy wagon along with Marcavage.
Marcavage is seen on the video questioning police about his First Amendment rights. Later, he and the others are led away from the crowd, handcuffed, and put into a paddy wagon and taken to jail. Once behind bars, Marcavage discovered just how serious the charges were: three felonies and five misdemeanors. The felonies include: ethnic intimidation and inciting a riot found under Pennsylvania’s hate crimes law. The charges could mean 47 years in prison, if convicted.
A few local Conservative groups are rallying around Marcavage and his fellow felons, but apparently the local DA is on a crusade against anyone who dares criticize homosexuals. Many are trying to change the language of the Hate Crime law but
Such a change, however, is unlikely as long as Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat who has supported health benefits for same-sex domestic partners and other pro-gay political matters, is in office.
A Google search will reveal a few stories, mostly in small metro dailies and the Christian Press.

Note on Firefox: Their companion emailer, Thunderbird, is so buggy I've gone back to Outlook Express. Impossible to load signature, files disappear and then reappear (hopefully), and their "help" is not too much help at all because they don't have any. Instead they have a forum. Thunderbird is just not ready for Prime Time. Only thing superior to Outlook is their junk mail filter.

A real interesting take on China (link via Happy Carpenter) from the Econo Pundit. Basically the Econ wonks say that Chinese banks owe 150 bil they can't pay back, that tons of non-performing companies are held afloat by phony loans from the government---my God! That sounds like Communism. But it can't be. I read in the Wall Street Journal that China was a hot investment---credit is not nearly as available as before because of the weakness of the Chinese banks and, and, and lots of stuff. Go read. Oh, and the Chinese strongly suspect that the EU is not really interested in free trade. Go figure.
A correction, sort of----apparently this take has as it's genesis the Brothers Judd BTW The Brothers Judd has become a terrific site. I haven't read it in quite a while but I intend to make it a daily stop. Go there and see if you don't agree.
OK, OK, stop emailing me. Maybe the original post started with the JWR, who cares? The data is good.

BLOGERS ARE SALIVATING MORONS

Good old Howie Kurtz gets to the root of the Eason Jordan problem: it's the bloggers, the wild west, the mob mentality. Read his bullshit in the WaPo,
Is the rise of crusading bloggers a healthy development, as many media analysts maintain, or the creation of a new Wild West with no rules or responsibilities? Hours after Jordan stepped down, Steve Lovelady of Columbia Journalism Review e-mailed his verdict to New York University professor and blogger Jay Rosen: "The salivating morons who make up the lynch mob prevail."
Stop me before I drool again.

Hey! Lefties! Another great reason for you to move to Canada. FREE HEROIN. No kidding, go here for all the referrals. Kerry supporters will get the primo stuff. Is Canada a great country or what? What you get is:

1. THREE daily fixes.
2. Pharmaceutical-grade heroin made in Europe
3. Real nurses will shoot you up, no need to strain your fingers on plungers.
4. Program lasts 12 months---what you do with an out of control craving for pure Euro pharmaceutical grade heroin after a year hasn't been addressed.
5. No worries about dirty needles.
6. It will free up that heroin money so you can smoke crack.

I'm sure there are other benefits. Maybe the AARPers can import it for their own use. NEXT: Free Crystal Meth clinics.

IT'S A DEMOCRATIC SENATE AS THE RINOS LINE UP

Arlen Spector looks to be lining up against Bush judicial nominees. Big mistake putting him in charge of the committee. Is it too late to kick him out? The guy clearly lied. He is a walking talking example of a RINO and his current activities are getting no coverage at all. However there are a lot more phony Republicans than one might think. Starting with the two Cialis antidotes from Maine---Collins and Snowe----and always including the special assistant to Jacques Chirac, Lincoln Chaffee (Pussy RI), nine Republican Senators oppose changing the rules. This means we actually have a Democratic Senate, something many have argued for some time.

THE LAST OF THE DEPRESSION LEFT BITES THE DUST
More than just a word about the deceased playwright Arthur Miller. If you are younger than 40 you don’t know who the hell he used to be. The icon supremo of the Left around the world, a literate agitator who was never as good as the hard core Commie, Bertolt Brecht, or nearly as communicative or productive as the super Left Communist Party member Clifford Odets [“Awake and Sing!," "Waiting for Lefty, " and "Paradise Lost”—movies: “Golden Boy,” “Sweet Smell of Success”, “Country Girl” and more]. Faulty link now corrected, ed.

Arthur Miller picked up the badge of politically correct drama in the American Theater during the 40s where the Hollywood bound Odets left off. Miller was the super hip Lefty writer of the era, loved by all the usual suspects. Since back then, as now, most of the university teachers were Communists, they had Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” “All My Sons,” and later “The Crucible” on must read lists—along with Odets—and you either praised them all or risked a “C.”

When you see Miller’s alleged masterpiece, “Death of a Salesman” today you wonder why any adult could ever have bought into such a bogus piece of shit. The story revolves around Willy Loman, a failure who never sold anything in his life without bribing some buyer; a guy who cheated on his wife and cries when he is caught; a guy who whines about the stage about paying off his house and running out of money when all he had to do was re-fi the thing and live happily ever after; it just plain sucks. The corrupt lead character, Willy Loman, was supposed to represent all of America. He didn’t. The play doesn’t. And looking at it now you see that the play has nothing. But back in those days you couldn’t re-finance, or if you could nobody knew anything about it. A still Depression stunned America, most of which had lost faith in capitalism, bought into that play as if Jesus had written it. Staged by the ever so Left Group Theater alumni, Elia Kazan, and mounted in a surrealist set, it featured the first "common man" tragic hero and every audience seemed to think it was about them and the bleak future that surely awaited them in Capitalist America. The popularity of the play says more about the Depression generation than it does about drama.

The other play that “made him” was called All My Sons and watching it today is like an afternoon with a dead whore. Left wing ranting about some guy who sells defective parts to the army during the war and guilt and greed and that horrid capitalism; Left Wing college professor Art with a capital “A.” The movie with Edward G Robinson plays on Turner once in a while.

Miller’s only other sort of good play, The Crucible is all about McCarthyism and tries to tell us that rallying a mob to hang a witch in 1680 is exactly as wrong as ratting out the ton of Russian Communist spies in the Roosevelt Administration and Los Alamos. Acording to Miller, spies who sold us down the river shouldn’t have been ratted out but allowed to continue contributing to Stalin. They love this play in the Ivy Leagues.

All in all Miller was simply telling the old Communist Left exactly what they wanted to hear, wanted to believe, and his plays still serve as one of their Biblical references. I doubt that anything he wrote will be remembered in fifty years except by the academic left. Attempts to re-stage “Death of a Salesman” have all tried to humanize it and soft pedal all the propaganda but it just doesn’t work, except to the Left.

Miller was a good soldier. Stalin was proud of him.

More on the terrible grosses for Oscar nominated movies
Finding Neverland----60 mil
Million Dollar Baby----38 mil
The Aviator-----126 mil---world gross; big budget 110mil; plus marketing 50mil
Sideways-----a cheap movie making big bucks.
Ray------ already gone to Video Stores

Many are blaming the Hollywood Left, but the biggest grosser of the year is Meet the Fockers with Streisand and Hoffman that is over 300mil and still counting.

This is the correct link to LAPD Wife's report on dead U.S. Soldier bloggers. Worth the read. Yesterday's link was wrong. Sorry.

Eason Jordan sleeps with the fishes. Now CNN will appoint a closet Commie who is even worse. That's who CNN is. Word is that when they found out Ward Churchill wasn't a real Indian the offer to him was withdrawn. Next in line was attorney Lynne Stewart but it was felt that she couldn't be effective from a jail cell. There are rumors that CNN may move their HQ to Jersey if jailed Muslim cleric Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman has regained his sight and will agree to take Jordan's spot......Developing

HOWARD DEAN: Don't misunderestimate him. I don't know what the GOP is grinning about. Dean ran a totally solvent government in Vermont. He put in a lot of popular medical care. And dumb guys don't get to be doctors. That "eeeehaa" cheer that got him into so much trouble was a function of him not understanding what a TV camera can do to you. Nobody who was in the hall at the time thought there was anything wrong.

Howard Dean is good, and everybody better stop thinking of him as a dope. Remember what the Democrats did to themselves by thinking Bush was a moron. The "moron" Dean will do an outstanding job.

THANK YOU HOLLYWOOD

You can go HERE to see the revenge billboard put up on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood by a GOP group. The huge sign thanks the Hollywood Left for their help in re-electing Bush complete with pictures of Whoopie and the crowd. They promise even more signs. There is a serious undertone to this satire because Oscar nominated movies are doing shit business, the Oscar telecast ratings have been getting worse and worse, and The Real Powers in Hollyweird are doing their best to shut movie stars up. Uh right, the only way to shut up a movie star is ask one to pick up the tab.

The East St. Louis
Democratic criminals are beginning to fall. All the details are HERE at Gateway Pundit.

Why don't
I have anything about Eason Jordan? Because I already know that CNN is the Hate America Network that is slanting all their news toward their foreign outlets. They are basically out of the ballgame in U.S. televison news and I leave it to others who are driving the stake into Eason's heart.

For a total babe
with all her clothes on go HERE. Rachel Bilson is a very hot babe. And they also link to the scariest looking woman you have ever seen. It's via Defamer and a ton of others. Pop Culture Junkies, a site seldom worth looking at more than once a week once a month, is the fun source. There is another great shot of a babe with all her clothes on HERE.

CONSUMER ALERT: Car thieves are now looking through your windshield to get vehicle number off the metal tag placed atop the dashboard on the driver side. They take the number to a dealer for a new key and come back and steal your car. Suggestion: place some tape over the VIN number.

Economy and Markets: ten days ago I stated that the stock market would take off, the dollar would hit 86 [it hit 85 and change], and that gold would tank. It's been a hell of a long time since gold has been a leading indicator, but its fall from $455 in December to $410 right now gave us all a signal that most of us missed. The world somehow figured out that the dollar slide was over and that Greenspan was serious about strengthening the dollar before most. Could gold slide back to $280? Depends on how strong the Bush administration wants the dollar to get and with a few more interest rate hikes in the offing and the continuing tightening of the money supply it looks like par with the Euro may be a long term target.

Stragegy Page has a very rosy view of the new Iraq security and military. At the very end he talks about "bakshish," the two thousand year old tradition of bribing and taking bribes. I don't know how a bad habit like that is ever changed.

Should you forget that the Wall Street Journal IS a part of the MSM, just go HERE and read their apologia maximus for Eason Jordan.

A movie that might be subtitled, When Actors Need Work is gutted in broad daylight over at my favorite no holds barred reviewer. Wedding Date sounds horrid but the state of the movie business is so bad that normally good actors need to take anything to stay employed. My real question after reading the review: is Hollywood stealing plots from porn movies? Then I ask, how desperate for work does an actor have to be to perform in such an obvious train wreck? The script could not possibly have been anything but cleaned up for an R rating porn flic.

The unreported terror campaign to wreck the new Iraqi government through kidnappings of entire families of elected officials, the murder of same, and the threats are HERE.
This is very bad news and you should know about it. No security, no government.

Many of us need to be reminded about the breadth of the Right to Life movement, of which abortion is but a part. Catholic Analysis has a post that you might read. The Right to Life movement has been totally shut off by MSM so an honest look at the entire philosophy has never been presented to us.

It's Budget Cutting Time, and all us big city types are tossing shit at the farmers. I wrote a peice about two years ago and attached is the last half of if.

CHEAP FOOD FOR THE PEOPLE IS THE NUMBER ONE JOB OF ALL GOVERNMENTS

Forgetting the individual farmer, let's just look at the money. The government sent out 22 million farm subsidy checks just two years four years ago. Starting with sugar; cane sugar subsidized eighteen cents a pound and beet sugar at twenty-two cents a pound; the world price is between five and seven cents per pound.. The sugar subsidy cost you and me $1.4 billion per year in higher food costs. According to the GAO study, 33 sugar farmers have received more than $1 million each in government subsidies, with one Florida family receiving $65 million in one year alone.

Because the subsidies go directly to sugar processors and not the farmers there is a labyrinth of business and farming interests involved in keeping the sugar program in place. Growers are part owners of processing plants and so on.

ADM and Carghill, who are CORN processors, lead the charge for higher SUGAR subsidies. Corn processors? Sugar? Corn farmers and processors need higher sugar prices in order to force candy, soft drink, and other users of sweeteners to use expensive corn syrup, and the only way they can do this is if sugar costs more than sixteen cents a pound.

Get it? If domestic sugar costs more than sixteen cents a pound instead of the world price of seven cents a pound all the farmers and grain processors get to shove expensive corn syrup down the throats of all the soft drink and candy makers. As part of the subsidy no foreign sugar can be imported. This corn agribusiness interest is also behind the unnecessary corn created gasoline additive called ethanol. Ethanol costs us around two or three cents per gallon of gas. Corn subsidies are a part of the sugar deal. And it's deeper than that but you get where I could go here.

Then we have cotton, a water sucking crop with almost no equal (only rice, sugar, and coffee suck up as much). Cotton is now subsidized at seventy something cents a pound while the world price usually hovers around fifty plus cents a pound [Now forty two cents]. (a "corn subsidies" Google search ). Before August of last year (2004), you have to all the way back to 1998 to see cotton briefly sell at seventy cents or higher, meaning we are guaranteeing farmers the highest price in recent history for growing it and tossing it on the world market at forty two cents. Now here's the boring capitalistic data. Hold your nose. The top 10 percent of cotton farmers got 73 percent of the handouts of $5.3 billion of total payments from 1996 through 2001 (subsidies ran to $4 billion plus in 02 and 03). These cotton producers received an average payment over this time period of $286,007, an average of just over 55K per. However, the top 1 percent, which only represents 1,858 recipients, collected nearly 25 percent of total payments of $1.7 billion with an average payment of $913,478, that's more than $120,000 per year, guaranteed. Worse, (if you need worse) this subsidy is also destroying cotton farming in Africa because those poor dopes can ONLY grow cotton in their soil and they are so stupid they practice capitalism. They have to sell their cotton at low world market prices which we depress even further by dumping ours. Every acre of cotton farmland in the US attracts a subsidy of $230. The total cotton subsidy is three times higher than the entire USAID budget for Africa's 500 million people. Capitalist enough for you? For an accurate but needlessly anti-Bush data link go HERE.

Other crops like rice, soybeans and wheat get plenty through farmer co-ops. The data is only available for the Clinton years which shows five out of the top ten subsidies went to Arkansas farming co-operatives.. Number one was Riceland Foods in Stuttgart AR who picked up a nifty $222 million, however $220,821,863 of the total came in the last two years of the Clinton administration. Riceland is followed by Producers Ricemill also in Stuttgart that only pocketed around $70 million. Why Arkansas? It just so happens that these farmer co-ops are there.

But these U.S. subsidies go even deeper, if that is possible. Farms are also owned by prison systems, jails, cities, and hospitals. They get paid off too. Jails? Yes. Cities? Yes. Why? Well they just do, they have political clout and they want more in handouts. So they get them. Haven't you ever heard of Georgia Correctional corn? Sing Sing wheat? This means the big city pols want in on the subsidy gravy train too. You see why subsidies have lasted so long?

How about the farmer? You know, that guy who gets up at 4AM and works in the hot sun til sunset every single day. What about him? He wakes one morning in April and looks out upon nothing. Just land. Planting is coming so he has to "work" the soil, meaning he tills his acres to prepare the ground, usually plowing under a legume crop that fertilizes the soil. This costs money. Then he goes to the bank to borrow money for seed, fertilizer, and pesticide or herbicide. The bank will lend him the money IF he also buys crop insurance. This means if the weather destroys the crop the bank will be paid. The farmer will not be paid if there is no crop to deliver to the government. Now let's look at cotton. He will get 72 cents per pound IF there is a per pound to harvest. Too much rain, too little, too hot or too cold and there won't be enough per pounds to feed him and his family through the winter even at $2 per pound. The cotton farmer can't plant until the soil is the right temperature. Then he will seed it. During the growing season he has to weed it (more money), remove insects (more money), and be sure there is enough water (irrigation is more money). If things go right he harvests the cotton (more money). Rain, even one drop during pollination period of a single day will ruin the entire crop. So will not enough rain. A farm will average around 700 pounds per acre on a good year. It's the cost and grade that has to work out. 500 acres (average size of a cotton farm) may yield 350,000 pounds of cotton that cost the farmer at least $200,000 to grow. IF the cotton grades well he may get around $.45 at current prices; much higher if bad weather hit other parts of the world or country; a hell of a lot lower if everybody in the world has a big crop. If he has to sell at market he will lose everything unless the market is at $.62 or higher. He has to pay interest on the loan to the bank and he is out the crop insurance. At sixty two cents times 350,000 he would make $17,000 out of which he has to support a family, maintain his farm, his home, etc. At the subsidized price of seventy two cents per pound he will make $52,000 [which is what he will do if the price stays under .$72]. Keep in mind that a yield of 700 pounds per acre is on the very good side. If the yield is only 600 pounds per acre he is in big trouble. It is a boom or bust existence for a farmer who works longer hours than any two men any of us know. The AVERAGE farmer is still getting screwed. He can grow other crops but where cotton can be grown it offers the best return if the weather is good. Without a subsidy the average cotton farmer doesn't farm, but neither does anyone else.

To sum up this state of things, every major country is subsidizing their agriculture, not a bad thing in and of itself. As I said at the beginning of this piece, the number one job of any government is to assure cheap food for their own people. The French Revolution was not caused by any yearning for democracy but because good old King Louie had refused to pay the farmers (barons and counts) a high enough price for their wheat so they refused to deliver wheat to Paris. Paris ran out of bread and Louie became toast. "Let them eat cake," still resonates today. Every country on the planet has to have cheap food or their governments are done.

Which means things ain't gunna change real soon no matter how many Africans who we really don't give a rats ass about die. Do you care? I mean really care enough to risk the day when we must have foreign food to exist because our own farmers can't possibly earn a living on $1 corn or fifty cent wheat? Think about that one while you watch the whimpering whiners on PBS and FOX, and read the usual shit in the press..

Bush will visit Mainz, Germany in a few weeks. Here's what the folks in Mainz think of us. The parade float was approved at all levels of government and was lauded by the Mayor of Mainz. THE TYRANASAURUS REX CALLED FREEDOM STOMPS THROUGH THE MIDDLE EAST

Two Revolutionary Ideas Clash in a Fight to the Death.

Terrorism is simply a part of a revolution; a revolution against the West. Some of the other parts are the funding of "chairs" at various universities in America, the implantation of sympathetic groups---CAIR---into the political systems of other countries, and a propaganda campaign through sympathetic press. What are we to do? Are we to be like Rome when Christianity started to spread from the Middle East? Are we just latter day Hapsburgs quaking in fear at the French Revolution and Napoleon? Is this era a rerun of Europe and America refusing to believe that the rantings of Mein Kampf were actually happening?

Many of the smart guys observe that there is no central state sponsoring Islam. Oh? There was no central state sponsoring Christianity either. Nor Martin Luther and Protestantism. What central state sponsored the American Revolution? Revolutions have no sponsoring state, that is why they are called revolutions.

Revolutions are “sponsored” by unstoppable ideas; Nazism, Communism--- before Russia---and Democracy were almost impossible to stop once they took hold. They are like tidal waves that only recede once the force behind them is spent or when the countries and institutions who are their targets finally react or surrender. The only way to stop an unstoppable idea is with a better idea, spread by force of arms if necessary, and force is always necessary because both ideas are their opposite.

We need to wake up to the fact that Freedom is the Tyrannosaurus Rex of all ideas. Freedom is a revolution too. The idea of Freedom is the only thing that can work in this mis-named War Against Terror. That is why we need to pay serious attention to the things Bush is saying.

Henry Kissinger observed in his widely read analysis of diplomacy A World Restored that coalitions against revolutions have usually come about only at the end of a long series of betrayals. That is because the powers which represent legitimacy cannot “know” that their antagonist is not amenable to “reason” until he has demonstrated that he is not. And he will not have demonstrated it until the international system has already been overturned. Those times in history where peace---defined as the avoidance of war--- has been the preeminent concern of primary powers, the international system has been at the mercy of the most ruthless. How many betrayals by Arafat were enough for the European powers? Apparently there was no betrayal limit to the welfare drugged Europeans and they ended up siding with Islam rather than fight. The upset has begun as we can see from the now rampant anti-Semitism, both in Europe and within our own University system. The movement toward free elections in the Middle East, represent the counter revolution sponsored by America. The clash of ideas has begun without the Welfare State Europeans who are concerned only with their own comforts.

It has been observed by more than one famous diplomatic observer that it is impossible to settle international disputes where revolution is central through the use of “good faith,” because in a revolutionary situation neither side can see the good faith of the other. In these situations many will see the early demands and writings of the revolution as tactics or rhetoric; any who warn of the impending danger are accused of being “alarmists,” unilateralists, or in today’s language, “cowboys.” Appeasement is actually a refusal to deal with a policy or idea that has unlimited objectives. Europe today looks at Islam and focus once again upon their own concerns: pensions, paid vacations, and short work weeks and they are overwhelmed in the face of unlimited objectives---Freedom and Islam---so they do what is natural for them: appease, attempt to make deals that when violated yield to more bargaining resulting in deals that the revolution has no intention of honoring.

Islam has unlimited objectives. Just read what they say. They are not just singing the latest pop music hit when they say they want a world of Islam. Europe has no objectives at all beyond the maintenance of their own Welfare State. The “New European Idea” is not an idea, it is simply state sponsored self indulgence; government care for everything.

On the other hand Islam has God. God is a bigger idea than self. God will pay attention to the downtrodden, the poor, and the helpless. God will show the way to a better life if you follow "the path" both now and in the after life. The West represents the ghettoization of Muslim immigrants, the destruction of their religion, and the deliberate looting of their heritage; the priceless Rosetta Stone sits in London, the priceless beyond belief Hammurabi Code resides in Paris; other priceless works of Arab antiquity reside in Western museums outside of Islam including the huge collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Every item in every collection was looted from Islam by the West.

We are seeing an Islamic revolution. Revolutions are always dangerous because they upset the international system. Note that the “terrorist” threat has upset our alliances with Europe and changed our relationships for the better with India and Australia. Certainly this new Muslim threat represents to the poor a revolution against the prior Western domination of their lives. Since Napoleon---revolutionary France---beat Egypt and began the destruction of Muslim domination everywhere outside of the Middle East. Through every war until the fall of the Soviet Union the West has dominated the Middle East in every way. Arabs have made nothing, invented nothing, their military is a joke, and only their religion holds them together. Bernard Lewis describes the modern day Arab entering a coffee shop designed in European fashion, with wooden table and chairs of European origin, all the clothing worn by everyone in the shop comes from Western design, the TV he watches is an American invention, the radio a European invention, the newspaper he reads is a European idea, and even the Ethiopian coffee he drinks is processed by either European or American owners and the Arab sips his coffee from a Western made cup. They spend their days angry at what they see.

It is not difficult to imagine the Muslim terrorists as an arm of the revolution. Pure Muslims want to get rid of everything Western...um, er, ah, except for developing the bomb, using computers, and getting rich by robbing the West. The exportation of Islam is typical of every revolution in history, especially including our own. All revolutions seek to export their ideas by force. Are they stopped by containment, destroying the source, or with a better idea exported with equal fervor?

The only other way to stop a revolution is through time. Time spent under the yoke of the revolution til rescued. Looking to western democracy, we first had the American idea, exported through Tom Paine into France where the Rights of Man (from England) exploded the monarchy system; don't forget that Jefferson overtly supported Robespierre. The Russian revolution threatened every capitalist based system on earth and destroyed many of them. Going back to ancient Greece all observers outside of Athens thought the Athenians to be the most aggressive and dominating force in the world, one that was run by a mob, and until the Peloponnesian War Athens style elite democracies of various sorts dominated. Rome dominated for almost three hundred years until the non-centralized Christians led a world wide revolution.

Any of us who suppose that a revolution can be contained, reasoned with, or bargained with doesn’t understand what all revolutions really are: ideas spread by force, especially including revolutions that demand freedom. Revolutions aren’t revolutions without armed force. Bush is right, in order to stop "terrorism" we have to fight for the purpose of imposing freedom on others.

The rumor mill is working overtime that THIS really hot babe has a 2K per week coke habit. All over the web rumor mills, but not on Google. Yet

Most metro dailies, other than the NYT and LAT, have now broken the Freedom House story I posted about last week, HERE. Why it took the big papers a week to publish? Don't want to offend Muslim Terrorists, do we?

As the dollar continues its climb, what are the implications? Opportunities? One thing for sure is that people holding the Euro are getting burned, particularly those still buying them since January 1. At some point we will see a dumping of the currency, a big run in our stock market---could be happening now----and reduce the amount we pay for foreign products. Is this like a tax cut? Yes. The Euro has lost 8% of its value since January 1.

OH, AND YOU JUST GOTTA GO HERE to a roundup of good news from Afghanistan. Afghanistan? Where's that, some shithole in some desert? The MSM refuses to report any success. Link to CHRENKOFF in the WSJ.

Super Bowl: I've got news for the NFL. People want to watch the game, not an endless promotion for corporate sponsors. A bunch of us went to the local sports bar to watch the game on a giant screen and get loaded. Shortly after 3PM many "patrons" started to loudly protest the commercials, and by 3:10 they were protesting the endless graphics as well. It got so loud that one of the bartenders switched to the ice skating on ESPN to the wild cheers of the fans. Every time he switched back to the "game" there was another commercial or graphic and the bar exploded with boos. Nobody was interested in the music, which received not only hoots but some rolled up napkins tossed at the screen as well. When the game still hadn't started by 3:35 the noise took on a tinge of nastiness with dozens of guys yelling fucks at the screen and even the waitresses were cussing. When it finally looked like the game might start, Fox brought us instead two stupid sideline interviews. The kickoff was greeted with a satiric cheer. The continued commerical booing did not subside til the middle of the second quarter. Not one moment of any commercial was audible between 3PM and 4:45PM. I don't know how people inside their homes felt. The Halftime Show? The bartender switched to an cable girls football game that the crowd loved.

All I can say is that the NFL better wake up. Far too many commercials and nobody was watching them.

FOX News Channel does a number on Hillary Clinton campaign fund raising irregularities, but NOT ONE WORD on their site. Search for links gives nothing. It is getting to be a habit with FOX not to publish their "hot stories" for reasons I'll leave to your imagination. They are becoming less and less reliable. If it's true, why not print it? Accountability anybody?

EU once again votes to appease Iran and do nothing about their nuclear ambitions. I suggest we let the EU flutter in the breeze and just let them hang there. They can only appease if they have us to back them up. I think we should embark on a policy of self defense, only. Build up our star wars defense systems, our border and port interdiction, and let Europe die. Iran is a threat. Period. They will destroy Israel the first chance they get. We need to let everyone know we will regard an attack on Israel as an attack on the U.S.----and pointedly say nothing about any country in Europe. It is clear that Russia is activly engaged in policies damaging to this country when they shipped missiles to Syria. Let's get real.

Real means Super Bowl.

Huckabee, a Republican, stands up to bigotry sheathed in a scabbard of piety. Read it and see what you think. The stink about deporting, shooting, or denying services to Illegal Aliens falls apart when one considers the implications on an individual basis. Would YOU stand at the border and shoot down children, men looking for work, and women carrying their kids? Would YOU, driving past an accident and seeing a couple of bleeding bodies lying there, deliberately refuse to call an ambulance and leave them there to die? It's a thought provoking piece. The guy who says he would do those things proudly calls himself a Christian.

The Diplomad is folding his tent. Too bad, it was very nice to read things from the top of the State Department deck.

Alfred E. Newman spurned by White House----Democrats furious.

Sums up the Senate show trial of Condi Rice pretty well. To the litmus test Democrats you would think the job of Secretary of State required views on abortion, minority rights, feminism, and crime levels in Boston rather than our relationships with sometimes very hostile foreign countries who could destroy us. So what’s with this “job” anyway.

The recent span of service for Secretaries of State have been shorter than a Robert Downey Jr. drug rehab. What may be even more interesting is that since Dean Rusk (1961-1969) and Henry Kissinger (1970-1974) NOBODY has had any background for the job. Nobody has written anything about anything. With the single exception of Powell, we have had a succession of amateurs, political gravy train riders, and PC mediocrities. Kissinger and Rusk have been the only people of stature since Ike. Some samples:

George Schultz, the Reagan Secy of state, wrote nothing. His sphere of expertise was economics—Ph.D. in industrial economics from MIT—but he fit with Reagan’s fixation on Soviet Communism. Contrast this with Kissinger who had been writing about foreign policy since he was a teen.

Warren Christopher, author of nothing, served Carter as assistant secretary during the Iranian hostage crises and was Secretary of State under Clinton for four years. His main focus was the Arab Israeli conflict which resulted in the fiasco with Arafat at Camp David. No background whatsoever for the position. He’d been a government apparatchik in various places and an attorney.

Madeleine Albright, another author of nothing with absolutely no background in foreign affairs other than a her prior connection with the UN. And she was a woman, something the bean counting Clinton Administration wanted. A female version of John Kerry---she married a rich guy and collected all his money---making her a typical wealthy liberal. She got her political science degree from Wellesley and after that a Ph.D having something to do with Russia which is unavailable anywhere; after that, nothing. Her only writings had to do with the problems of women. Nickname behind closed doors: Halfbright.

Colin Powell seems to be different than all of them. Educationally he has nothing, he did not go to West Point and his entry into the army was through the ROTC. He got an MBA from George Washington University in Washington, DC and after that he was successful in everything he tried; a leader of extraordinary skill and courage. He was one of those people, like the totally unqualified---on paper---Ronald Reagan, who “just has it.” His only direct prior experience in hands on foreign negotiations was in Haiti.

It is really amazing when you think about it. It is entirely possible that our recent record in the foreign policy field has a direct correlation with the lack of qualifications of the people selected for this most important of jobs. This is a job formerly held by people like Jefferson, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, and Henry Clay, to name but a few giants. Almost all the pre-Civil War Secretaries were super qualified.

Not lately.

There should be something in the backgrounds of modern candidates to indicate a view of where the use of power fits in with diplomacy, something to show their views about nation states, how balance fits in to our interests, how aspirants view the hierarchal structures of government and the UN vs the asymmetric (totally uncentralized) non-structure of modern terrorist groups; small cells that have only their Muslim religion and their leader, Allah, to keep them in business. What about the long history of appeasement in Europe? Does the quest for peace result in peace at any price and the resulting lassitude of the population? Is true peace possible? In a world of warring religions can there ever be peace? What does one think about the clash of civilizations view of the world?

So is Rice qualified? Super qualified when measured against all before Powell. She has written copiously. She has a narrow field of expertise because she is a creature of the Cold War. Her understanding of Eastern Block armies and Soviet Communism is extensive. But nowhere is there a vision of the world. Nowhere is there a vision of how the United States has to pursue our interests. What are our interests? Trade? Business? Trade as a vehicle for Third World development? Nobody in the Democratic Party bothered to ask anything about anything important. All we can hope is that brain power counts for something.

Brains is what Rice has in abundance. Not that any Democrat cares.

Blog lite for the weekend, but I'd just direct you to The Big Pharoh who explains why democracy for Egypt is a very bad idea unless you are in the Muslim Brotherhood. If you haven't read VD Hanson this week you are missing one of the best written of his many welll written essays. And if you think socialists care about workers just click to the German blogsite, Medienkritik for the lowdown on the 10.5%---or is it 11%?--- unemployment rate and their MSM ignoring it. The POV that welfare benefits make being unemployed comfortable is here. And the French find that getting rid of the 35 hour week is pretty hard because it is now an "acquired right." Once Liberals abolish Christmas---next year---they will ban the flag. Super Bowl pick? Pats by at least ten.

No blogging today, but a commentary for NJ Republicans GOP Babe of the Week. A black and white head shot with no bathing suit, no tit shot, no ass shot----should call it nun of the week. No wonder we lose in New Jersey. What next? "Modern Slut Monthly" featuring Barbara Boxer actually thinking? Even worse for the Jersey GOP, Juliette Huddy is not listed among the FOX News Babes. This may be the end of the Republican movement as we know it.

Going to work, then Super Bowl Weekend.

Holy Shit, now NBC joins CBS in the hopelessly corrupt press.... In fact this is actually worse because it has been going on for years.
On one of the hottest stories around, the U.N. corruption scandal, NBC has been out to lunch. Why? Its U.N. reporter has been on the payroll of the U.N. lobby.
And later in the piece....
Of the U.N. chief, she writes like a school girl with a crush. "It is hard to find anyone who can mount a serious criticism of [Kofi] Annan's performance as Secretary General," she claims. His performance is so "impressive" that she wonders if a "cult of personality" has risen up around him. One U.S. official is reported to be "astonished by just how good a Secretary General Kofi Annan has been."
Read it and weep sports fans.....

Oh, and lest we forget Oil for Food, Hammorabi has a hell of a lot to say.

Please, when you have ten minutes link HERE to the story of Medal of Honor winner Paul Smith. This is what men are made of. Link thru Malkin. BTW, it states it was written by a "Times writer." New York Times? Los angeles Times? Don't be ridiculous.

What did I think about the SOU speech last nite? Come on, who really cares? The important thing to me is the potential collapse of the Democratic Party. There is no way any party can remain viable with their feet planted firmly in the air. We may see the Democrats reduced to Tory levels, a party unable to do anything. 2006 may result in a 60+ seat Republican Senate and I get very nervous about any political party having that much power. It's clear that SS must be reformed. So? It's clear we need tort reform. So there. And the Marine mom and the Iraqi voter? Things don't get more heart touching than that.

The disgusting Left now stoops even lower, calling Condi Rice an outright "Dyke"--by quoting somebody else--and then adding their own Left "comment." It's in the Bush hating 666 but links are all over. The reason for the charge? A cousin of Rice, a Bush hater, is a known lezbo queen who outs everybody she can without any proof whatsoever. BTW 666 seems to be the homo outing blog of the web, outing a Desperate Housewives star and the star of another series also.

Rare Sex Disease Diagnosed in New York, of course it is an exclusively homosexual disease and the rest of us will have to pay to "stamp out this vicious disease." Jesus, what do you expect if you dip your dick into somebody elses shit, the cure for cancer?

Thanx Daniel Pipes who has broken down SOME of the Freedom House expose' of the Saudi Propaganda output in the U.S.
Reject Christianity as a valid faith: Any Muslim who believes "that churches are houses of God and that God is worshiped therein is an infidel."
Insist that Islamic law be applied: On a range of issues, from women (who must be veiled) to apostates from Islam ("should be killed"), the Saudi publications insist on full enforcement of Shariah in America.
See non-Muslims as the enemy: "Be dissociated from the infidels, hate them for their religion, leave them, never rely on them for support, do not admire them, and always oppose them in every way according to Islamic law.
See America as hostile territory: "It is forbidden for a Muslim to become a citizen of a country governed by infidels because this is a means of acquiescing to their infidelity and accepting all their erroneous ways.
Prepare for war against America: "To be true Muslims, we must prepare and be ready for jihad in Allah's way. It is the duty of the citizen and the government."

The report's authors correctly find that the publications under review "pose a grave threat to non-Muslims and to the Muslim community itself." The materials instill a doctrine of religious hatred inimical to American culture and serve to produce new recruits to the enemy forces in the war on terrorism.

To provide just one example of the latter: Adam Yahiye Gadahn, thought to be the masked person in a 2004 videotape threatening that American streets would "run with blood," became a jihadi in the course of spending time at the Islamic Society of Orange County, a Saudi-funded institution.
Freedom House urges that the American government "not delay" a protest at the highest levels to the Saudi government about its venomous publications lining the shelves of some of America's most important mosques. That's unobjectionable, but it strikes this observer of Saudi-American relations as inadequate. The protest will be accepted, then filed away.
Instead, the insidious Saudi assault on America must be made central to the (misnamed) war on terror. The Bush administration needs to confront the domestic menace that the Wahhabi kingdom presents to America. That means junking the fantasy of Saudi friendship and seeing the country, like China, as a formidable rival whose ambitions for a very different world order must be repulsed and contained.
Meanwhile, mainly because of the lack of interest in the MSM, this important document exists only on the internet. Most of the above appeared in the NY Sun and some smaller papers around the country, the most influential of these would be Investors Business Daily (not available on line). My old post, "Cheer, Cheer for Old Saudi U" was also revelatory regarding the Saudi infiltration of our university system.

Why is everybody feigning "shock" at the terrorists using a Downs Syndrome boy to do a suicide bombing? What is the difference between that kid and a cab driver who unknowingly carries a bomb in his cab that blows up killing him and ten other people? I say nothing. Zero. Screaming about a Downs Syndrome kid is just propaganda----this time from the Right---- an attempt to rile people up. Let me know when they send her, then I'll be pissed.

Seizing defeat from the jaws of Victory? Hammorabi says that the long and secret vote count combined with leaks and conferences with candidates has Iraqis screaming "foul." This is too stupid for words. Ballots counted in secret are the classic Stalin methods (it's not who votes, but who counts the votes). How could we fuck this up? We apparently have. Again.

Economies: Before we cheer the record German unemployent rate of 10.5%, consider that people without money can't buy things. Our things. As an aside comment here, if we had 10% unemployment there would be riots in the streets, in Europe they just mope along. Why? It's the Welfare State. If you are taken care of anyway, why be upset? Margaret Thatcher turned a ruinous unemployment rate around by chopping apart the Welfare State's endless benefits and allowing the economy to flower. Reagan was able to do a lot of the same thing here, but it was painful as hell when interest rates rose to 12% in order to choke runaway inflation. In this country the people force the leadership to solve things like unemployment and inflation, in Europe the people keep collecting welfare.

BTW: While the week is almost over it still looks like I was right on gold and the markets, but perhaps the dollar isn't going to explode to the upside. We'll see. Late add: This AM the dollar has broken out of a pennant formation on the daily charts, big time.

My response to Eason Jordan's assertion that 63 journalists were killed in Iraq?

So
Fucking
What?

A jounalist getting killed in a war zone goes with the territory. None of these elite pieces of crap cares when 63 janitors are murdered, or 63 cab drivers, or when ten thousand shitty Kurds are gassed, so why should I give a rats ass about them? Besides, 63 of those assholes killed? I don't believe the number for a second. And the army now has to be careful when going after terrorists so as not to hurt the undercover Muslim sympathizers? Give me a break.

Fuck them. It's too bad they didn't die in the executive suites at the MSM buildings. And if our guys "targeted" them? I just say, "great shots guys."

Repost....Somebody somewhere ran a long and interesting essay about our foreign policy and then linked to a famous essay called, The Jacksonian tradition and American foreign policy by Walter Russell Mead. The essay appeared long ago in the webzine, The National Interest, and is no longer available unless you pay for it. I have had it in my files since 1999, AND I HAVE POSTED IT HERE. To any of you interested in what Jacksonian is, how it is paramount in our foreign policy today, the real reason for "Red State" politics, or if you are one (at least a part of you is) and what it means, this essay is a must read.

The hell with Eyerack, the real news courtesy of Defamer:
a nude, pill-popping Lara Flynn Boyle recently terrorized fellow passengers on a flight from L.A. to London, roaming the first-class cabin halfway through the trip, waking a man, and trying to get into bed with him as she told him to prepare for landing
It's drug addicted celebs I like to read about. The story is a couple of days old but I missed it due to those stupid Eyrackie elections. Defamer has other good stuff too. Like this little teaser
So he pulls his pants down, and off... he's not wearing underwear... and the camera's pointed up his legs at his scrotum. From underneath, with a little nubbin of dick peeking over. The crowd howled with delight.

Is Barbara Boxer the antidote for Viagra????

REMEMBER VIET NAM IN 1963

The Left has a continuing mouthpiece in radio/MSNBC morning host Don Imus, who can be relied upon to give every Left columnist on the East Coast fifteen minutes per week. He hates the war, dislikes Bush, and leaves no stone unturned to air "the latest." Well folks the "latest" is that we have to remember the VietNam election of 1963 when 83% of the people turned out and then were overrun by the North Vietnamese. Of course all these Lefties leave out what the 60s "activists" did to make sure the Communists won, but that's no biggie to them. Just what 1963 has to do with now will be left for the Liberals to explain. They never sleep.

CNN's Eason Jordan is the guy who fessed up about CNN's "special relationship" with Saddam, CNN's slanted stories, and all the rest of the bad stuff back in April of 2003. What he did yesterday is so, well so traitorous, so duplicitous, and just so shitty that all of us need to stop watching that pathetic anti-U.S. network. Mr. Jordan is at the widely covered Davos Conference and he blurted out the following, per Front Page
During one of the discussions about the number of journalists killed in the Iraq War, Eason Jordan asserted that he knew of 12 journalists who had not only been killed by US troops in Iraq, but they had in fact been targeted. He repeated the assertion a few times, which seemed to win favor in parts of the audience (the anti-US crowd) and cause great strain on others.
Front Page has some continuing commentary that is good reading. LGF is covering this as well. Keep scrolling if you link there. CNN ratings in the U.S. sink ever deeper and many reports from people touring other countries speak of the Communist News Network because of the propaganda.

Early in the Freedom House tract called SAUDI PUBLICATIONS ON HATE IDEOLOGY FILL AMERICAN MOSQUES (in PDF) we are treated to the following partial paragraph
The tracts he opens are in the voice of a senior religious authority. They tell him that America, his adoptive home, is the “Abode of the Infidel,” the Christian and the Jew. He reads: Be dissociated from the infidels, hate them for their religion, leave them, never rely on them for support, do not admire them, and always oppose them in every way according to Islamic law. There is consensus on this matter, that whoever helps unbelievers against Muslims, regardless of what type of support he lends to them, he is
an unbeliever himself. As he reads this warning, Ahmed thinks back to the U.S. government’s request to the American Muslim community for their voluntary cooperation in the fight against terrorism and he is afraid. He knows that the tracts’ author views such officials as “unbelievers,” so that, if he helped them, he would be an unbeliever himself, a renegade, an apostate from Islam who should therefore be put to death. He begins to worry too about his cousin, an American citizen who recently enlisted in the U.S. military. The books give him detailed instructions on how to build a “wall of resentment” between himself and the infidel: Never greet the Christian or Jew first. Never congratulate the infidel on his holiday. Never befriend an infidel unless it is to convert him. Never imitate the infidel. Never work for an infidel. Do not wear a graduation gown because this imitates the infidel. Ahmed looks carefully at the book’s cover. It says “Greetings from the Cultural Department” of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C.
The above is a small taste of the contents of The Freedom House publication about Saudi sponsorship of hate within mosques. This was released at the same time the Iraqi elections took place and has been lost in the shuffle. It's a long long read so I'll leave it to others with more time to pick and clean it. It's so bad, I don't think any picking and cleaning will do it justice. This is very serious stuff.

HAMMORABI thinks that the terrorists have largely left Iraq to concentrate on other targets for now. Not fully reported in our MSM is that we now have so many drones in the sky that any terrorist attack can be seen and through the use of heat sensing devices the terrorists can be seen. So when they run and hide we nail them. This means they have to change tactics or find new places to terrorize, for now. Hammorabi:
There are reports from local sources indicate that the terrorists left Iraq towards Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and North East. The terrorists are now changing their tactic to attack in the region wider than Iraq as their networks are uncovered largely inside Iraq contrary to their statements today that they will continue their war.
An Iraqui's thoughts has a very good post. An ordinary guy who is excited but thinking too. One thing is clear from all Iraqi postings, the sewage system, the water, and electricity must be fixed and fixed soon.

Is the Iraq press getting like the U.S.? Free Iraqi has a good piece up and says the press predicted the incorrect outcomes. Surprise.

The Mein Kampf of the new millenia is right before our eyes. Will we pay attention? Europe, which paid no attention at all to the clearly stated purposes of the Nazis and Hitler, is paying no attention to clearly stated policy and goals once again......
democracy (is) based on un-Islamic beliefs and behaviors such as freedom of religion, rule of the people, freedom of expression, separation of religion and state, forming political parties and majority rule.
....freedom of expression is allowed even cursing God. This means that there is nothing sacred in democracy. Islam requires the rule of God and not the rule of "the majority or the people."
Just a taste of a really thought provoking piece over at New Sisyphyus; a must read. I hope you've all read or glanced at Bernard Lewis's "The Middle East" and Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations," but even if you haven't, read this. My only disagreement is that I understood Bernard Lewis differently, but it makes no difference at all. Sisy etc. concludes
In the long run, we have hope. Because, like the Nazis before them, the Islamic leaders keep ruining the efforts of Western appeasers and cowards by continuing to bluntly state the bloody obvious: that they want to kill us and destroy our way of life.

We can fight them now, or we can fight them later, but, eventually, fight them we will. And I wouldn't bet against us.
